The Day We Learned that 480 Otis Has a Mini Me - Explore.org

On July 9, 2022, an unidentified subadult, with an uncanny resemblance, stepped beside Katmai brown bear 480 Otis, and began watching and mimicking his every move, in what appeared to be an attempt to learn his fishing techniques. For nearly 15 minutes, the two bears stood side by side, as cam viewers delighted in the sight of a miniature Otis fishing alongside him. Is the young subadult bear a descendant of 480 Otis? Without DNA testing, we'll never know, but the eyeball test checks out!

I thought Wallflower was bigger, but I'm not sure. Someone told me that McKate thinks it's a bear she calls E, who is now practically hairless and waiting for winter fur to grow in, so it's hard to say. They look so different now. Time will tell.
