Otis will forever be the Katmai bear who stole my heart. In a time in my life when I needed a distraction from life's bumps and bruises he waltzed onto my tv. He hasn't returned, yet, in 2024 but I hold out hope every day.

Unless Otis shows up to eat the dead salmon floating downstream in September, which many bears do, he will have skipped 2024. Bears do skip seasons at Brook’s, and then show up in following seasons. One of the chat mods posted a link to a map showing all the streams surrounding the falls. There are so many places Otis could be this summer, I’m not losing faith in my very favorite bear. I even just ordered an Otis tshirt! Hang in there Otis, you’ve done way more than your share for Katmai, and we ❤️ ❤❤❤ you! 😎 PS: the decision to stop naming bears is a big mistake imo. Do you like 480 or Otis better? 128 or Grazier? 747 works, because he in fact is a very jumbo bear, and he’s named after a jetliner! 😂
