Welcome to the Philippines! it's gonna be an exciting and tough transition but God is watching. John is a talented dad and Laura is a smart mom. Get situated first. Can't wait to see what happens next. Moving from the Philippines to Chicago in 1988 was the beginning of our new adventure in a new world. I was 13 yrs old and my 2 younger siblings were 10 and 11. My parents got their first US jobs and us kids went to school after a few months. We stayed at my aunts house and saved money then moved to an apartment after 1year. Bought our first newly built house after 2 years! Fast forward to present time, I'm 48 years old now, a married man with an 11 year old and a 4 yr old kids. My mom retired from Rush Presbyterian Hospital and my dad from American Express. God is great!

Don't worry Laura for staying in Philippines specially for the kids they will enjoy because they a lot of people who will help you there just not like in U.S. only the first thing you need to do to the kids is help them to speak tagalog because pilipino's was impressed a foreigner who will speak our language and a big help also to the vlog.

every filipino living outside the philippines has a nudging desire of returning or retiring in the country. but for us seniors who are so much dependent on our free medicare healthcare and other pros and cons issues, we are always repelled back. but i know that in our waning days when one or both of us will need assisted living, we may consider doing that because the cost of assisted living in RP is just probably 1/5 of the cost in the US. but on on the other side of the coin, hospitals and doctors there are also very expensive and not covered by medicare. when we cross that bridge, then we will decide.

Howdy, Our Half Asian Adventure family! Thank God and I’m so glad you finally arrived in the Philippines after that long sleepless travel. Not enough sleep and after that exhausting long flight make sure just get a sponge bath only. After getting enough sleep and rest then enjoy taking full bath or shower. There’s a reason for that-to avoid getting sick even more. I hope you guys can adjust right away from the jet lag. Stay safe always and I love you guys.🥰

Can’t believe you guys took that route with all the kids. We moved from San Francisco to Guam via Hawaii and Marshall Islands. 3 years later from Guam to Calgary, Canada via Hawaii and Los Angeles.

We didnt have a choice, unfortunately. We were buying tickets right after the borders opened to tourists so things were very expensive and selling out quickly. It worked out okay but it was tough to have that many connecting flights.
