I bought 2. I got my first in 2007. I still own it. I bought a second one in 2018. They are both 2006 GT. The same color, etc. They are only 3 VIN numbers different. Only 60k km on them. I drive my original and my GF drives the other one.

I own an RX-8 bought mine in 2018 I believe. The apex seals dumped on me in 2023. Havent driven her since but its the car that brought me back to my childhood love for cars. I wanted a car that was fun. I was not disappointed, also i learned how to drive stick thanks to that car. It hurts me to see her on jack stands. Thanks to that car i now have 3 cars, the RX-8, a 96 Caprice SS, and a 14 Taurus SHO. Ive learned that driving can be fun and now all i love is fun cars especially sleeper cars which the RX-8 isnt but if not for that car i wouldnt have gotten the other two and now im a professional truck driver which is by far my favorite job ive ever had and driving a truck for a living doesnt ruin my passion for driving my cars since theyre so different.

Everything that breaks is an opportunity for an upgrade! Love my Velocity Red RX8! My wife loves it, previous owner had a love affair with it as well. I even got a call from the owner before him wanting to buy it and race it but it was too late. I fell in love with it too. It is a special car that makes at least three people fall for it. Lots of quirks and specific repairs but when she sings at 9000 RPM, it makes my heart jump.

Still owning one since 7 years and very happy with it. Copper red mica (32V) beige interior. Mazda speed full bodykit, lowered and 19” wheel. Masterpiece. ;-) Waiting for your rebuild since long time my friend. I learned a lot with your videos since you created your channel. Thank you. Kind regards from Spain.

Cool listening to the different stories and thanks for sharing ours! My experience with rotaries is just beginning. Mine is for sale now; but I’ll be looking for a Lightning Yellow manual that needs a rebuild!

I remember watching the RX-8 in a video on the worst first cars to own, so when I was looking for mine, I didn't even really consider it. When learning more about cars, I fell in love with rotaries and was super enticed by their uniqueness. I learned as much as I could about apex seals, premixing, and rebuilding a rotary, so I would feel more comfortable buying one. When I finally started to consider the RX-8, I watched a lot of your videos to help me learn more about the car and its common issues. It eventually led me to buy one of the best RX-8's possible. An 06 Shinka with 10k on a Pettit racing rebuild, and that already had a Sohn adapter. Other than a dual resonated midpipe, the car was stock. I made a 3-hour drive across my state to go and buy it one year ago, and I've been loving it ever since.

I just bought a 2012 Spirit R RX8 with 65000klm. I watched this car for a month, I paid 40k without seeing or driving it, and now I proudly own this pearl white beauty. My first rotary was an Rx3 10A and owned many different models and ports. Now I am earning 6 figure salary. I could afford the RX8, 400klm per tank, but I don't care even with fuel costs at $2: 20 per litre of 98 here in Queensland Australia.

Very cool stories and fun to hear. I'm now curious if my rambling tale will make the cut for a future video

I drove my RX8 from my driveway into my garage about 16 month's ago and it hasn't started ever since. Bought a Alfa MiTo a week later and am still driving that. The RX8 is for sale in the south of the Netherlands, only 82000 km driven.

I bought an RX8 3 months ago as my first car. It's a 2007 velocity red model. Before the purchase, i absorbed as much content as i could on rotaries and the RX8 specifically. On the test drive, i checked the "hot start" and to me, an absolute car noob, it would turn on just fine, so i bought it. A few days later i got it compression tested and expected good numbers, but it turns out it has 4,5 bars of compression across all faces, which is absolutely horrible and the mechanic wondered why my car even turns on at all. To this date, i have driven ~2k KM and it still never let me down. I have changed myself the wheels, ignition system, stabilizers, oil + filter, lambda sensors and fixed a few scratches i got from parking too enthousiastically in my garage and started premixing aswell. The premix + ignition system changed a lot about the behaviour of the car, it even starts noticably faster now. Learned how to do most of the things mentioned on your channel, thanks for that!
