Peter Brock is very humble , to know history with what they were up against makes this car , to me, the car which outperformed Ferrari , it’s the iconic race car of its time, even over the GT 40 ! It’s a story of a small group of men with very little capital beating out the big boys in racing ! You just can’t help but be in awe of these men and what they accomplished !

I have read this story many times ! It showed how a small group could do a better job piecing together a complete package . One all three large automotive companies in the US were slow to envision or put together . Bigger is not always better . My hat is off to Pete Brock , Carroll Shelby and many others on his team for their success . It was the catalyst for big automotive companies to wake up as to the possibilities . Bureaucracy is a bad thing !

the story still is HOW FAR THIS TEAM AND CAR HAD COME IN SUCH A SHORT PERIOD OF TIME. It's almost like a little league baseball team beating the 1927 Yankees.

Regardless of how dumb they thought the whole car may have sounded Peter kept going I applaud him for that also once they got to the wood jig part I think those pessimistic visionary s on the other side of the shop may not have said it but started to realize that u where not fooling around and could see this unique car silhouette and knew enuf to know something serious was happening and at that point could not stay away and be opposed to it....hey they had to realize someone had to find 30 more miles per hour and nobody else was trying to do anything...and u guys were still a team. Basically....good deal

Some of those 30s air racing planes were pretty funny looking and not all that well designed aerodynamicly, with it not yet having been much research at that point in time for more advanced aerodynamics, was a lot of hit and miss, after the second world war the aviation world was entirely changed we started to know loads of things from the extreme rapid development that had happend during WWII, from first aluminum frame airplanes and biplane to the earliest jet airplanes that saw combat

Well, I am not too sure about the body design being original. Because the Ferrari 250 gto looks so much like it and was made and raced in 1962. A few years earlier than the Daytona.
