Yes, it happened to me and my husband 2 months ago. My mother had to have heart surgery and then 6days later had to have another surgery. She was down 2 months, during this time my husband had an injection in his eye which is a normal thing for him. This shot was a different brand, same medication but, his eye rejected the medication! During this time I am on FMLA ( not being paid and husband can’t work) We had our preps! We are just now getting back to normal. Mom has recovered and husband still is having a small issue with his eye but he is no longer blind! God is good!

You make a very good point in that bad things do happen and can be unexpected. My husband, 47yo, was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer in August. I am a stay at home mom, and it really can be a strain financially if you are not prepared. Medical bills add up, so do travel expenses, and therapy treatments. Had we not been prepared by way of keeping our expenses low and having a fully stocked pantry, we would have been struggling. But God is good and my husband is doing great and after 2 major surgeries, he is said to be disease free. He is taking immunotherapy, so we will still have travel expenses, scans, and many appointments for this year. My advice is to grow a garden, learn to preserve your own food, and pay down debt. Back when walmarts were open 24hrs. I worked nights and had gotten off work early, around 2:30 am. When I came out of Walmart, a guy in a big expensive truck pulled up behind me sideways, blocking my car. (I was parked facing the store at the buggy retrieval area). He asked for $2 so he could get his diabetes medicine at CVS. Although there are 24hr CVS's in the area, all pharmacies within the pharmacy closed at 9pm and reopened at 8:30 am. Told him to refinance his truck. Then drove over the sidewalk to leave. In the rear view, I saw him go park in the same row of parking spots he left to block me. Scammed, or worse.

I bought two old Ford diesel pickups 86 and 89 conventionally aspirated no computers. They will run just fine in an emp. It's important to have something that will burn alternate fuels these will burn used oil so maybe not real green but I won't care. I like the idea of mobility myself it's important and these trucks are pretty reliable and I can fix them. We raise our food and we raise livestock on our place. We are both proficient with firearms and reloading munitions and we both shoot regular. We both hunt and fish she makes clothes I weld can run equipment fix anything that breaks. But still I prepare for everything so do my neighbors and tho they are all different than us they get reliance on each other. We help each other watch each others houses and make sure their kids are safe. Their kids know to head to our house if something is amiss or if their folks tell them to. We are always home and we make sure they know we are around to help if need be. It's important we help each other it's how we make it. All of us have skills and if we pool our talents we will survive. I just bought four radios in case cell don't work and handed out to the neighbors for emergencies we can cover a huge area. At 40 bucks apiece I may get 4 more. Communications wins battles. Makes things possible with a small force.

They never pay you enough to buy equivalent vehicle even with full coverage. 5 Been in the hospital due to a sudden first time event. 6 Had to take my animals to an emergency vet. There is always something that can happen and it will eventually. Better to be prepared because I don't have a Mama or Daddy to help me. It would be wrong even as a young adult to ask for help so I prepared even as a young person. They are both dead. I'm an adult. Adults prepare. Countless other things have happened, but try to tell that to a less than thirty year old with the it can't happen to me attitude is exhausting. Our young people need to stop this madness! Excellent vid PB. All of these real world events, storms, attacks, etc…are yet ANOTHER wake up call to many. Learning & implementing defensive habits and practicing counter-surveillance measures are an absolute requirement today. It doesn’t matter WHERE, WHEN, or HOW.

When leaving a store, restaurants, post office etc. Walk 10-20 ft, stop turn around and watch who's behind you. Take note, look in the direction of your car then proceed cautiously aware of what's around or near your car. Don't walk directly to your car walk one row away from your car then quickly turn and walk back. If someone is following you it's easier to spot and they won't be on your heels ready to shove you in the back seat. If there's a van parked next to your drivers side be extra diligent

Ask someone from the store walk back to your car with you.
@foggybrow213 күн бұрын
I've had to do that also because a man was following me inside the store, then he was standing outside the door as I was leaving I sensed he was planning to grab my purse I ask for someone to walk me to my car. I don't carry a purse inside a store anymore. Use my pockets.

That is absolutely right pinball! I am a biker, and I cannot get on the road and think or believe that everyone is going to do things right I literally have to not pay attention just for myself but pay attention for those people that are not paying attention on the roadand so I approach prepping in the same sense I have because no one else is gonna do it and that is the simple truth we have to take care of us what is gonna do it for us? We have to do it.

I lived in Las Vegas for 20 years and never went to the New Year's Eve festivities on The Strip. I never wanted to be in a crowd of a million drunks. I saw on the news that there were multi-car accidents blocking the freeways for hours in Denver New Year's Eve. That's why I stay home!

Spent New Year eve at the house had all my neighbors. Bonfire, fireworks and great food no need to go anywhere. We all can walk , oh ya we were all done by 11 all of us in our 60's. We had our toast at 10, it was a wonderful time. It's good to have great neighbors we are blessed in our tiny town.

Too many people will not heed your good advice...9 years in an inner city ingrained in me to be aware at all times of my sorroundings...saved me many a time from harm...I carry my protection with me everywhere I go...it feels so comfortable and peaceful to know I can defend myself...well trained & 30-40 weekly visits per year to the range keeps me sharp & always improving . Life is good.

We also need to be prudent in our exposure to risk. Something I have done for over 10-years is that I do not go crowded venues or locations at night or holidays because you are placing yourself in a target environment and because of the Illegals and drunks out driving at night we stay off the streets. There is risk during daylight hours too but visibility is better along your chances. My prepping lifestyle and the mentality that "NO ONE is coming to save you" I plan on taking care of everything myself. Not being a lone wolf but it you need someone to save you but don't prepare then you will be at the mercy of the situation.

Thanks pinball. I work in NYC and avoid the subway as much as possible. I got a notification on my citizen app about the subway incident. The video did show him standing right on the edge of platform looking at phone. 3 guys jumped the turnstile and one of them just pushed him right as the train was coming. Horrible

I agree on the Situational Awareness. Here's a good one much as I tried to talk my niece out of buying a Kia? She bought one anyways.. when I told her about the high probability of it being stolen? Oh I live in a safe area of town. Hmm so you don't intend to go to Malls? They are planning a trip next month to Indiana to a Musical.. they have no idea about where they are going whether it's a safe area or where they will be renting a Air B&B how safe is the neighborhood? I would not be at all surprised to get a call from Indiana to come get them. Kids sigh.. she's 21. Anna In Ohio
