Good morning Pinball. We didn't get hit with anything. Just cold. We were 16 this morning. But sunny in the afternoon. Our high will be in the low 40s. Yay!

I only have 3 freezers and 2 refrigerators/freezers, several hundred home canned meat and vegetables, hundreds of cans of store bought cans, many 5 gallon buckets of wheat berries and other grains,flour, oatmeal, potato flakes, sugar, rice, beans and lentils, chocolate chips, spices, cocoa powder, salt…..etc, and I live alone ! I already got the beef, picking up the 1/2 hog as soon as the butcher calls and I have to finish processing the deer my neighbor shot for me. Oh and I raise 20-25 meat chickens and process them. Won’t be long and I’ll be starting seeds for the garden. I have alternate heat but will get my wood stove hooked up this next summer, I need a generator but don’t know what to get. I’m thinking of making an ice box for summer refrigeration, it’s-15 F now and going to get even colder so it’s perfect to start pouring water over a frame and having a literal ice box. Now if I had a husband to help build a frame…..it’s freaking cold !!😏 Keep prepping

We plan and prep as best we can. Unfortunately, government affects you the most because of taxation. That's the biggest issue for us, no matter how much you prep they keep stealing our money. My heart breaks for people in California, NC, Tenn, and Florida. There no way you can really prepare for a sudden disaster on such a scale but you do what you can. If I lived there my preps would be gone... sad but true. It really sucks when you have local and state leadership that has their head up their ass most of the time but then again the people keep voting the same ones in over and over again.

Good morning! I am excited to be able to prepare again. We had a house fire last November and have been out of our house since then. A chest freezer and basement fridge were delivered on Saturday. That gave me a lot of peace. February 1st will be the day we start to rebuild our preps. I'm still very angry with myself for having everything in one place. Well, now I am wiser and a little stronger from conquering another obstacle.

I live in a small rural town of 2,200 people. I don't have the biggest yard, but I built a chicken coop and have 8 laying hens. Getting about 6 eggs a day right now. I have 2-300 gallon rain collecting totes, 8 raised beds, grow bags, 5-gallong buckets, and a patch of strawberries and raspberries. Plus, we buy a half beef from friends each March and I hunt and fish. You can do a lot with a little if you put your mind to it. I also have my bug out property 7 miles from my home. Don't talk it...... do it

@PB I know there were times, historically, when people rejected help from people who didn’t look like them, but it was usually in situations where they felt like they had the luxury of being able to reject assistance. By and large, most people don't care what you do in your personal time. If you're in a role where you perform some job or service, people just want you to be clean and dressed for whatever type of work or profession you represent. The people who are pushing and promoting the idea or narrative that it's perfectly acceptable for some people to hold positions they are technically unqualified for - as with the woman who said if a man required assistance being carried out, which she was not capable of doing, maybe he shouldn't have been there in the first place, or that people want someone who looks like them to come to their aid, should not be in any position where their biases could cause harm to other people. These people likely see themselves as tolerant and altruistic because of the groups they purport to represent, but what they are really doing is recycling bigotry and packaging it in a way that is acceptable to them, and dangerous to anyone in a position where they depend on the bigots du jour, but may come up against their biases and incompetence. We have seen that fires, floods, and earthquakes don't discriminate, neither should the people who are in a position to help those caught in such dangerous and calamitous circumstances.

Western Kansas here and I’m good. Went to town yesterday to Walmart for a few things. They are moving everything, not sure what they are doing. We get a snowstorm people will freak. The shelves for bread has been cut in half.
