I really don't understand how the rankings were done. Cheetahs barely have any documented attacks on humans and zero of them have been deadly, but they're placed at the same level as cougars. Cougars meanwhile have more documented fatalities than jaguars, who are at the top of the list with lions and tigers. Despite having fewest documented attacks on humans other than cheetahs.

They are an Asian origin cat just like the tiger. And for that matter, neither are clouded leopards leopards, but are their own species or medium sized cats. And finally, lions are and were historically found in jungles. The Asiatic lions lives in the jungles of India, and Ethiopian lion lives in the jungles of Ethiopia. It’s us Indians who called the lion the king of the jungle. Jungle is a sanskrit word, and what we call the lion is jungle ki raja. The 2300 year old ancient Indian Mauryan empire had its emblem as the lion, not the tiger, despite tigers being more numerous, and in more parts of India

The largest cougar ever recorded weighed in at 230 lbs and that one was shot over 100 years ago. Youre kinda making it sound like they grow to these sizes on the regular. The average cougar would sit somewhere between 100-180lbs. Theres been loads of incidents of people scaring off cougars and there have even been a few cases where humans killed them without the use of firearms so i wouldnt put them in the highest tier. That being said tho i definitely agree that they should be up there with leopards

If a starving 5 month old cub who never learned how to hunt can mess a man up like that, imagine a mature adult. The leopard maxs out at 200 lbs, whilst the snow leopard only reaches around 125-140 lbs at the very most. Overall, lynxes, especially Eurasian ones, tend to have a calmer temperament than bobcats (although they are bigger and stronger!)... and if enraged, they warn you with a truly frightening growl. Here in Germany, where they have been re-introduced during the last 50 years, hardly anyone fears them. In fact, there never has been a human sustained serious injuries from a Eurasian lynx, be it wild or captive, let alone being killed... and they can be great companion animals (not pets in a strict sense, as they are quite destructive in homes, especially when it comes to peeing and marking (most of them don't ever become house-trained), so they better should be kept in a sufficiently large outdoor enclosure), when rescued as tiny kittens from what is euphemistically called a "fur farm"!

The domestic cat is one of the deadliest of the cats (enough said!) as a predator. Once outside it is for all practical purposes a wild animal. It's too small to do great harm to humans because we are much larger, but they have likely attacked humans more often than all other cats. All cats domestic scratch (unless declawed) and bite humans at one time or another. Threatening when angry.
