@@carolinebarnewall4658 Cheers Caroline. The biggest challenge we face in the short winter is that the houses have no insulation and get freezing once the sun goes down. Having said that, I’d much rather have to deal with that, than months and months of cold and wet weather in Scotland. One of my neighbours made me a magic potion of lemon, grated ginger and salt to take along with some paracetamol so that’s working a treat. A couple of wee “hot toddies” help too.

Hi duncan. We were there today! Looking to move next year. What are the best areas in los alcazares for a budget of £130000? Also, how bad was the flooding there last year?

You should have a good look round then decide which suits you better, the old town, or the Los Narejos area. Probably depends as well if you're going to have a car or not. There should be a reasonable amount of properties in your price range, some will have a communal pool, some not, again, depends whether that's important to you. I like the Los Narejos area because without a car, Aldi, Lidl, Mercadona, Consum are all nearby, the 525 Square is reasonably close. Not sure about the flooding, I was only there in the summer months.

@GerryT. thanks Gerry. Saw some videos on KZbin. Flooding looked bad in the past. Would be good to know if the spanish government has put flood protection in place in the area and if flood insurance costs have gone up

@@TheMarcsplace As Gerry said, Los Narejos is a good base as it is near everything and has decent properties for sale. It depends on what you are looking for, a house or an apartment. There is always a good choice of properties, look out for my videos as I’ll be doing some on each of the main areas of Los Alcazares. There are lots council have done a lot of work to prevent the big floods caused by the Gota Fria a few years ago so the flooding wasn’t bad last year. We don’t have any flood problems in Roda Village as we are a wee bit higher up. All the best.
