they took it through the old style car wash tell the dealership never wash the car or only by hand

It actually came back dirty. The owner told them not to wash it. If it was run through the car wash the whole car would be scratched. It almost looks like the tried to wipe it off with a highly contaminated rag.

Outstanding job on saving this man from all the b.s they would have put him through. I purchased a Tahoe New in 2016 LTZ model, took it in back then for a warning light that kept blinking. It was repaired. Problem was, the mechanic that fixed it did not like Law Enforcement (I retired just after this) it has no bearing or doings with my vehicle, so he decided to take a DA sander and do a few hot laps around my Tahoe. Short of the long, I fixed it and they paid heavily for it. Ironically a few months later the mechanic had a run in with the law, he went on vacation for two years. Karma!

The most alarming thing in this video is the major orange peel on the top part of the rear drivers side door… I find it hard to believe that could be OEM paint on a Cadillac. What the heck is going on there?!

Good eyes 😁 most vehicles come with major orange peel from the factory. The whole thing is orange peeled the camera sometimes with the different angles just doesn’t pick it up. We inspected the entire vehicle before we cut & polished it. We took our micron meter that measures clear coat to this Cadillac. This would tell us if the vehicle has been repaired or repainted. The readings were all the same so no repaint. Hard to believe but unfortunately that is factory paint.

@@GlassItDetail I’m a Cadillac enthusiast and also a professional detailer. If I ever bought a new Cadillac [not that I ever would because I enjoy a good bargain way too much. Lol] I would definitely inspect it like a fine tooth comb, that’s if I’d even let them remove the protective film they ship the cars with… But I sure as hell would raise an issue if I saw something like that for as much money as a new car costs. Not to mention it’s a friggin Cadillac! Lol. Edit: I’m watching your other video with this car right now and yea, I see what you mean because there’s also some nasty orange peel on the top of the trunklid. Wow. Beautiful color though.

@@Samuelfish2k this specific one is a plug-in hybrid that was assembled in China. It did not have the typical Chevy paint. It was actually quite soft when we first polished it. Orange peel drives me insane but it’s so much work to get rid of it. For a Cadillac I was a bit disappointed. But I feel we brought out the best in it. This is one of my favorite colors. Deep, amethyst purple.😁

And yea if and when a customer comes talking about they want the orange peel removed I immediately hit them with “are you really considering investing over 1k into this detail”? Because that’s how much I’d have to charge you to get involved like that”… That usually shuts them up. Lol. Besides I don’t really want any part of effin up someone elses paintjob only to have them come back bitchin about “I think you removed too much paint” ehh spare me that bullshit…
