4:04 nah public modes too dude. i also can't play everyday and take this shit super seriously. and i'm on MnK. i'm fucking tired of these killcams dude. i've been playing shooters for 20 years too. and this is crazy. i'm so tired of seeing people with shit aim but once they are on me they never leave following all the tiny movements i do. people don't understand what it takes to track with raw input consistently. especially in a game with this much movement. MnK is exactly the opposite. yes you can maybe flick onto someone for first bullet but after that is what is actually challenging. i'm sooo tired of having to make sure i had at least 8 h sleep ate well and warmed up for 30 mins just to get absolutely beamed by people who just scan the room until the AA hits while i'm struggling to even see the target in the these blurry ass games these days. the fact taht CDL does not have AA completely turned off is so odd to me. i'Ve seen so many videos of very skilled controller players play without aim assist. why is this even a thing in competitive gaming?

It's a thing in competitive gaming in order to reach a wider audience player base ($). Good comment btw. I'm with you on these points and eagerly anticipate the AA nerf and aim twitch removal. The great roller vs MNK argument has waged long enough. I spent almost 2k hours on Apex with a great deal of that time working on ways to break roller AA. Once they got LOS on me, if my mouse aim wasn't near perfect, I'd lose 1 vs. 1 every time.

Ever since day 1, games had the option of choosing between Beginner / Normal / Expert ... Aim assist is a "Beginner" mode advantage that has nothing to do inside "Expert" mode. (COD LEAGUE / OFCL. TOURNAMENTS / TOP 250... etc)

I could see keeping AA lower in ranked than in pubs but it needs to be lower across the board. They also need to take away the instant reaction rotational AA has. No human on MnK can keep up with that.

COD needs better tick rate servers to be first on the list. I do like the idea of beginner and competetive game modes having different aim assist values though. Also that flinch mechanic is interesting - wondering how that works in COD. As a MnK player only playing hardcore search and destroy these days as feels more balanced for both roller and mouse.

Life long mnk player cod since cod 4 mw1 the aim assist today is just too strong... i am worried it is going to get even worse with the new black ops movement. in the introduction video they talked about assist for the new movement system soon its like an oldscoo llara croft croft game where you don t even aim at all would love to see cod as a fast paste modern shooter but without all the bs... no cluster mines, bomb drones and all that stuff. fast paste action, nice animations good servers and gameplay

I've played without aim assist to see the difference. Some cases like 1v1 were a bit more challenging, but the 1v2/1v3 felt better without aim assist switching my targets. Like everything there's pros and cons. My opinion has always been to remove any assisting tools or training wheels from ranked play. Ranked play should be no questions asked playing at the same advantages/ disadvantages.

Idc if they remove AA altogether in Apex (yes I play roller primarily). My biggest Apex Legends gripe, because I feel it obliterates any semblence of competitive integrity, my BIGGEST grip is... Input-exclusive-movement-capabilities. Full stop. No other game ever, has you START from a different base-state dependant on your input device. How is this an esport? Make it FAIR first. Then decide if players will need an assistance mechanic or not.

Was fun while it lasted. A lot of us wouldn't really care about losing AA on apex but the fact that MnK still gets every movement mechanic is just not fair. Games are suppose to provide fun and entertainment and there's just none left for controller players like us who genuinely just want to have fun with their friends on the game. Forget 20 bombs and crazy KDs and just bring enjoyment back into the game.

That would assume that everyone plays on controller - which is not the case. I am an experienced MnK player, i occassionally play with controller - and it is apparent that you must have a ton of less skill with controller than with MnK - especially in close quarters - and thats just unfair!

@@BMcfarlane1996 another thing about those older games is that the overall movement speed was faster. Regular sprint in the old games was faster then the new games. Strafing was faster, and there was less delay between certain actions. I like the pacing of the older games.

Facts I'm a triple OG. I was ranked in the top 100 on Xbox in Black ops modern warfare and Black ops 2 in free for all and I played on Max since with no aim Assist. I hate that everyone has insane aim. You can't make plays anymore before you could like juke a little bit and kill people pretty easily and how you get in the top 100 back in them days UAV counter UAV The little drone you throw and just keep calling in. Kill streaks. Get your score per minute up

They should have an aim assist slider where if you have it maxed out your movement speed is reduced by x amount and keep that slider on a linear scale to minimum aim assist (no aim assist)

Perhaps an FGC [fighting game] approach? Example. Sfreet fighter 6 has dynamic, modern, and classic controls Dynamic - easy mode. Auto combos simplified buttons. [Rank/ tournament banned] Modern - simplified moves with penalty of losing access to some moves/buttons with a 20% damage scale. Tournament legal Classic - classic.... manual everything. No advance penalties. Outside of system mechanics Perhaps aim assist perhaps needs a penalty of some sort with a combination of what you suggested.

I think before we call AA overpowered, which it IS strong, i think its also worth acknowledging along with how much better Controller hardware and the software itself has gotten SINCE black ops 2 around Aim responsiveness and Aim response curve customization. So CRANKING up AA even further like COD has been doing has been insane. the writing on the wall was there 5 years ago but the devs/pubs doubled down on their decisions

Aim assist should have never existed on PC. Should be exclusive to consoles. If you need to use a controller for FPS games on PC then learn GYRO aiming. Adding to that, rotational aim assist should not exist at all. It hinders controller players from building meaningful skills that transfer to other FPS games with less aim assist. For example, lots of controller players going over to The Finals when it released and getting destroyed by M&K players

I haven’t played apex in quite awhile but when I did play, I always played in PC lobbies with my homies on pc. The aim assist was noticeably less from console lobbies but I was also on a 30fps ps4 and going to .6 aim assist was ass but I was still able to make masters. I feel like this change is gonna absolutely screw console players that wanna play with pc homies though, cuz .3 ain’t shit unless you’re getting 120+fps. Also in apex, compared to cod, apex pc players have a massive movement advantage over controller. Like it’s not even close, unless the controller player is running scripts to hit super jumps and glides. Also tap strafing is only possible on m&k. Was aim assist too strong for controller on pc, sure but cmon why they gotta do console like that.

A lot of older games had little to no aim assist. Aim assist is necessary when both inputs are used considering how perfect m&k is. I play both and i only have issues with movement on keyboard cuz I have medical issues with my hands but aiming on mouse is insanely easy.

It went from Clans to Org's and devs being in on it. The stuff i know now and can't talk about ( for now ) is just insane. God forbid they turn off aa and take away rotational, you all would be running back to console. So, they wanted a better gaming experience for controller players WITH EACH OTHER, and AA was born and Halo was the first true game it was in. All the competitions i competed in at beatdown, lan events esl etc were ALL PC. Watching people now on stage with their hands in the laps is just embarrassing. ALL FPS games were dominant M and K and then Millennials and especially Gen z came along and jacked it all up. Heard way to many controller players say that, " they don't need AA" lol. Also remember console players, when you were one of them, saying they needed AA because of 60hz, low frames, dropped frames blah blah blah. WELL, as soon as they put the controller on PC, all those excuses were GONE so you needed to play by M and K/PC rules BUTTTTTTT , you didn't . The devs let you keep it and turned it allllll up along with the game code and then added rotational to the mix. How much denial are controller players in not understanding those facts and the fact these were all dominant M and K games until kids never grew up and graduated to M and k , like yourself and many others. Zlaner, if you think , you twitch streamers and the inner circle invited to all these set up dev lan events are the ones that make the game, you're kidding yourself. IT IS the general player, whether they are able to play a couple hours a day, maybe coming home and able to play an hour, THEY are the ones that made Activision their money. Same goes with Apex legends. YOU ARE NOT the money maker . If you think because you play the game that others play it because YOU DO , you're kidding yourself. When you were 8-10 years old, we played a game because we liked it or a friend mentioned it. WE then would get in on an invited Beta or go to fileplanet .com (when it was around) and download the demo or the dev would release for download and play the beta and then shut it down (like in the BF games) and then we would get updates and then purchase the game. People played COD before you streamed and others its just a fanboy generation and being " part of something" or their " name being called out" lol .. sad... Quit kissing EA butts. Controller NEVER HAD FLINCH. LOL Pathetic.
