Amazing work. Really loved the use of imagery (so well done to those amazing artists as well). I can’t wait to reread this novel. Almost picked up off my shelf a few days ago, but instead I went for Path of Destruction. I plan to read and cover the Rule of Two era (beginning with the Darth Bane trilogy, followed by Darth Plagueis, possibly Darth Maul Shadow Hunter and ending by reading the Dark Lord Trilogy. Plagueis' arc is pretty sad. He acquired so much power that he became deluded to the point where he thought he was beyond being slain. Hubris almost got him killed earlier in the novel during his dispute with Senator Pax Teem. This final experiment and attempt at self aggrandisement sealed his fate.

8:31 - I belive that this is the proof that AT THE TIME Palpatine did not desire immortality, just power and influence untill he makes the sith eternal rulers of the galaxy. He wouldn't have lied to Plagueis in such a moment. Untill the dark times, during which his arrogance and self confidence increased to an unhealthy level, Palpatine was truly devoded to Darth Bane's cause. And we still see that in ROTS, he is HAPPY that his new apprentice was going to eventually become more powerfull than him, he says that himself to yoda, he wanted that, as every Sith Master of Bane lineage should.

An excellent reading. You really captured the characters personas in your voice and your images really add a lot to the scene. But something I've been disappointed by about this entire exchange, ever since I first read it years ago, was just how one sided it was. Sidious' monologuing his triumph over Plagueis is cool and very much in keeping with Sith tradition of Dun Moch, but I still would have preferred more confrontation. Regardless, awesome work. Hope you do more of these.

To be fair, Luceno wanted to have a more traditional confrontation but eith Lucasfilm or George Lucas(or both) said that Plagueis was definitely killed in his sleep, and the most Luceno could change was Plageyie being killed in his sleep by having Palpatine trick him into getting atrociously drunk and killing him then

Your Tenebrous Way has long been a favourite and I enjoyed this too, despite the fabulous reading of the official audiobook this brought something different and enjoyable. You should do more! Incidentally, since first listening to the audiobook a pressing query for me is I wonder what Sidious did with the droid and his new body. This story, for me, is still canon. It was a towering achievement and the best example of supporting media.

As far as 11-4D (the droid) is concerned, there is limited information on what happened to him after this in Legends: 11-4D is said to have likely been one of the droids present during the scene in the book "Star Wars: Labyrinth of Evil" (also by James Luceno), in which a group of droids ambushed the Aurek Team (a group composed of agents from the Senate Bureau of Intelligence or SBI, some ARC troopers, and a few Jedi including Mace Windu) when they tried to look for the Sith base that Darth Sidious had set up in "The Works" (the worst part of Coruscant). This took place around the same time as the Battle of Coruscant before Palpatine staged his own kidnapping at the hands of General Grievous. Other than Windu (who went off to protect the planet), Sidious and a droid contingent killed the rest of this group after they found out who he was. Later on, 11-4D is said to have been present for another important moment later. Remember the scene from "Revenge of the Sith" where Vader was first fitted with his armor? The droid was there, too. Both these statements were made by Luceno, but Lucas never officially confirmed them as canon.

I'd love to see Kal Kestus (Jedi: Fallen Order's main protagonist) face off against the likes of Asajj Ventress, Savage Opress, etc. As while Kal does show some impressive feats, he has little to no lightsaber/force training. And was able to defeat Inquisitors despite this total lack of training. Imagine if he actually did get training...
