3:35 how did you get that bolt out? It is very strong on mine.
@soggywafflesmedia Жыл бұрын
I had to stand on the hex wrench to break the bolt free on a couple of our bikes. The The crank will try to spin on you. I prevented that by standing on the pedal I wasn't working on. It wasn't pretty but it got the job done.

@@soggywafflesmedia wish you did record that part as well:) so the bolt goes free as normal right? Counter-clockwise? Nothing weird because it is the left crank I hope.

Great maintenance video, nice step-by-step. The only thing I would encourage is the use of “BLUE” Lock-Tite (thread locker) as you most most assuredly disassemble at a later time (if needed). The “RED” Lock-Tite is really strong(!), making disassembly very challenging.

Your words are too true. I hit it with the blue Lock-Tite a few months later.

Can i ask if this kept happening to you after this - we had the same issue but it kept happening, ended up snapping at that crank bolt 😞

Oh dang that sucks…. I have one that needs to be tightened I am not sure if it is the same one.

m8 to begin THANK YOU! I didnt find anything about that problem until now. I have exactly the same problem, i figured it out like you and did the same. BUT, the bolt keeps loosening. How far did you apply the threadlock? I think maybe the threadlock wasnt strong enough or we tested it too soon and it didnt had time to cure. Also about the belt, mine started to slip on the first pedal when i try it beat my 10 or 20 cals time, if i apply 1500watts or more. Does the bolt you used to adjust the fan tensions the belt??
@soggywafflesmedia8 ай бұрын
1. Yes that both will let you tension the belt. That is exactly what it is for. 2. The thread lock should hold no matter what. On one of our bikes I had to take every bolt off the pedal assembly and thread lock it and put it back together to get it to stop. So maybe give it another shot. Also I tightened the ever living hell out of the bolts. This is not a recommendation...just what I did.

Great video! No problems with the belt? Some gym owners say no problems with the belt and others do. Your thoughts?
@soggywafflesmedia Жыл бұрын
Interesting. We have not had any issues with the belt. I’m curious, what were some of the problem? I could see over time the belt getting loose/stretched. So you would need to reset the tension bolts. Similar to a serpentine belt on a car.

A member at our gym made them for us. They are currently made out of balsa wood with a sticker on top. It was a lovely surprise!

Haha, the seats are pretty jank. We have had some asses destroy them. The good news is you can go and buy any nice bicycle seat and replace it really easily.

@@soggywafflesmedia we can put any bicycle seat on it?
@soggywafflesmedia7 ай бұрын
Yeah, I put a spare mountain bike seat on ours that I had laying around. It actually helped our shorter people because it cut down the seat height by about 2 inches.
