Why don't they excavate the site? There can't be many 6' 2" men buried in the cemetery at the distance described. And DNA testing involving descendants would confirm identification. If they can rediscover Richard III after 700 years under a carpark, surely they could find Capt'n Dick in a closed burial ground after 187?
