I can boldly say, as a black man, I absolutely love supporting black businesses. I love my people and I love seeing us win. But I won't support mediocrity just because it's my people. It's BECAUSE I love my black brothas and sistahs that I won't support it because lying to inflate their ego doesn't actually help us succeed. Them being black will get my attention, just like seeing Filipino stuff will perk my ears (as I'm Afro-Filipino), but I won't just give them my money because it's them. I'd rather give honest critique, tell them how they can improve, and support black and Filipino businesses that are actually good. Nothing wrong with wanting to support your people at all, but only support it if you genuinely see value in it. I write comics, for example, and I want everyone to buy them. But if it's legitimately bad, DO NOT support my stuff even if you are black. Instead, tell me how I can make a better product so I can be the best I can be. THAT is the most important for anyone and any community to thrive. Authenticity and honesty.

P.S. I heard in a documentary about superheros and comic book writers that, the vilians and themes would change to reflect the issues of the time. Like originally, you had mysticism and mad scientists as vilians to reflect people who thought to demonize other faiths other than Christianity and people who thought innovators and scientists were looking to take over the world. Then you have things like world governments being the enemy because of World War II and Cold War Russia. Next came crupt corporations, taking power from average folk, portrayed as more powerful or even influencing government decisions. At some point, superheroes become the villians to themselves and others, being seen as too powerful. But what's the common theme today? Muliverses. Different versions of the same characters, worlds, laws, etc. In short, REALITY ITSELF seems to have become the real villain that everybody fights, no one trusts, and not even knowing what side you're on (if there even is one) you NEED to fight for.

That "sourcematerial" thing reminded me of an idiotic statement that K.K said back in 2014 after Lucasfilm announced that Legends stuff like KOTOR and THE FORCE UNLEASHED being non-canon: (which is total bs🤬) "There is no source material" So like what, you claim to have no source material at all, but then Dave Filoni just comes and brings Thrawn from Zahn's books back, Revan being namedropped in Episode Nine's Artbook (among many other stuff).
