In all honesty, I’ve never watched AoT, but I definitely know it’s OP song from season one. I can hear the first few second and always know which it is. Many anime sons are like that, like Unravel, Crossing Field, the original Pokémon theme. Anime ha been around for a ton of years and has brought a ton of people together... and divided many others. Still, I enjoy it and have enjoyed it and will continue to. Also, I’m still waiting for No game No life S2.

The saddest animes, for me, are the ones that give a gut punch when you were not expecting it. A lot of people tear up with Yui and her disappearance, but that never bothered me. I knew that it was going to go badly. That said, the core relationship between Kanade and Yuzuru was something I had faith in. I was sure that, somehow, those two were going to end up together, regardless of what happened to everyone else. . The revelation at the end that twisted the entire relationship between the two and then broke them up was beyond brutal, and the weight of everyone else also being gone were suddenly too much. It was just too. Damn. Much. Everyone was gone and only one man was left in that school. Alone. Then the ending credits song. Such a happy little picture where everyone started filling up the screen, except this time, it was everyone disappearing instead. Nastiest credit sequence I've ever experienced. . On another note, I ended up looking up the english translation of the ending credits for angel beats. It's not a happy song.

In AngelBeats the ending was like snap of fingers. It was such a frustrating moment. No one saw that coming. Not me at least.

What is sadder is up to the person. Like I said, if I know a bad end is coming, then it's less sad to me. Still depressing, and I don't really enjoy long drawn out illnesses in stories but less sad. I did not expect the Angel Beats ending. I was extremely into that pairing, and then, BAM, total reversal. This is about as solid a reason as you can get to make me start crying. The others were tired of living in the school and were ready to move on, but those two had just finally broke down the walls that kept them apart, and they could have been happy in that world, together. Instead she is going to reincarnate instead, it is just a baffling decision to me. . I also had personal objections to the reincarnation. It was extremely clear in the story that your memories are entirely erased. Without memories, or your body, what even makes you... you anymore? Honestly, I wasn't even sure the reincarnation was even a thing. How did they figure out that is what happens? I would have thought it was a limbo area until you were ready for heaven, or something.
