The Sam never getting nice presents thing is really sad and effed up because Jeanette actually wrote in her book that the only time she got a gift she didn’t have to pretend to like (because her mother gave her childish gifts) is when Miranda got her a birthday gift. It’s really odd how a lot of the abuse Sam went through is what Jeanette was experiencing.

"Imagine if what you did in middle school is what people knew you for as an adult. 'Oh, that girl was a swimmer, a dancer, a basketball player...regardless of what you are now, and what you wanted to do." and like, I get it. I get her feelings on this. i work in theatrical costuming so when you started talking about the necklace i was very prepared to offer a rational explanation, because a whole lot of seemingly wild choices boil down to "a wardrobe crew member messed up." but no, i believe you, someone did that intentionally. i don't think it was the director or even the designer, but someone on the production who had control over that necklace personally ships jori and snuck a little sign in.

Funny enough, I think the Actual Reason for the necklace switch is similar/the same as the Chad Ryan clothing switch, but the creators weren't thinking of it in a gay way - it's meant to symbolize that the characters have reached some understanding of each other and grown closer overall. I don’t think the Judy Garland joke is merely a matter of repetition I think it’s more about poking fun at the idea that Tori is this sweet innocent waif upon which all the world revolves around. She is the Dorothy of this universe and Oz is just filled with characters designed to serve her story. This joke essentially first starts when the show starts deconstructing this idea with more of the cast making fun of her and the inherent immorality of the characters becomes more apparent. The joke is that Tori acts like she is an innocent flower when really she’s kinda a monster and Jade sees that and makes fun of this contradiction and claims that Tori tries to act like this sweet little Judy Garland character when she is quite the opposite. Jade repeats this whenever Tori tries to act innocent at certain points in the show so Jade uses the voice to mock her for it.

For the Woody section around the 4 hour mark, my favorite theory is that Jade found out that he was a predator (as established by the “Paul” persona he put on in Seattle towards Carly) and that’s why she’s begun tormenting him. because it would turn those sections from uncomfortably cruel (even for Jade) to gloriously cathartic.

On the subject of "Take a Hint" and the original lyrics. There was a song on Disney produced around the same time called "Potential Breakup Song" by Aly and AJ, who were disney stars then. It also had similar vibes and is also a complete bop. Two years ago, they rereleased the song with the explicit lyrics. The song already went hard, but that just brought it to a whole new level that it shouldn't have. What I'm getting at is that if Aly and AJ can do it, I think Victoria Justice and Liz Gillies could do it too. And I would pay so much money to see it.

Yeah, the necklace thing makes sense. Tori learns to get along with Jade and connect with her, so to show that they have Jade wear some small thing that's iconic to Tori. I don't think it's even written in the script or anything, I 100% think it's just something the actresses suggested that the crew just kind-of went with because why the heck not, you know? In-universe, it's probably just because Tori wanted to give Jade something to remember them acing the class by and Jade had enough respect for her to go with it. Which honestly makes a lot of sense... BUT ALSO it could be a gay thing. And I think both the actresses were absolutely aware of this even though they knew it'd never be canon.

I love how whenever Quinton posts one video, I can genuinely just watch it for a week. Everyday put it on for a bit. And it’s beautiful.

I took it as a challenge when I saw the 8 hour one come out to watch the entire thing in one sitting. It was honestly a religious experience akin to taking a heroic does of mushrooms.

In the House MD bit, i just wanna say, as someone that rewatches that show repeatedly all the time, the writers had to know that was the extended version of the icarly theme song. For the timing of the scene, for the actor to have it memorized, they had to seek out the extended lyrics. And the real punchline here is that House, a Sherlock Holmes but a doctor, sized this guy up as an Icarly megafan completely accurately. There are a lot of things throughout the show that are extra funny or interesting to people who are fans of other media like that. Love and light! Hope we make it to a million subs

"Artists and animators putting my stuff on while they sketch away" I literally froze drawing when you said that like. Hey, that's me! But seriously Quinton, you've gotten me through some rough late night art assignments 💜 thank you

I'm actually crying during the speech of Matt. It's such a wonderful culmination of everything Quinton has worked on for this series. He got to go to his first rave, he got to experience the excitement and passion in real life along with the other fans. Honestly this is art, I'm so moved

There's nothing I've been looking forward to more on KZbin in this whole past year. On a side note... You're the one who got me to read Jennette McCurdy's book shortly after the last video. Thank you. And I'm sure there's many more like me.

@@KateCat420 I got through it but barely. I super do not recommend it for people with triggers around ED (such as myself). I'd have appreciated a version of the book without the extremely gory details of her EDs.

Matt Bennett is like EXACTLY what people are hoping out of any meeting with an actor or musician. He was so nice!

What a beautiful intersection you found yourself at with Matt. It really feels like the brackish water where internet culture meets (perhaps one of the last) generational touchstone kids' sitcoms. So cool and interesting!

So I’m a biracial latina and let me tell you growing up in the late 2000s/early 2010s was a great time to be white and latina. Between Selena Gomez, Demi Lovato, and Victoria Justice there were a bunch of biracial latinas staring on tween tv at the time. That being said it always surprises me that people don’t know victoria justice is latina because it seems so obvious to me. It’s honestly probably because her parents were played by white people in victorious unlike Demi and Selena who’s characters almost always had one Latino parent
@MyFictionalChaos Жыл бұрын
I agree. I thought everyone knew that. It's said in the show that she's Latina & Vega is (often; not always) a Spanish name. I think the white parents were confusing but I always just assumed that they were also white latino (even though it is proven that the actors arent). Seems to be a lot of Italians ancestry in the casting and not necessarily Latina. I did love the Russos in Wizadds ♡♡

Quinton explaining the metverse to a class is like the teacher in teen sci-fi movies that helps the main characters learn what they needed to know to help the time portal open

The first time I listened to one of your long form videos was when I was recovering from surgery. It was weirdly exhausting trying to binge short video after short video, so your long videos were great for just laying back, watching and listening while stuck in bed. You’re content has kept me company and distracted me while recovering from two major surgeries now! I’m doing great, by the way! I shouldn’t need any more surgeries related to that issue.
@domino623911 ай бұрын
I just discovered Quinton and am binging all his content but I have a surgery coming up next month and figured rewatching these would be perfect for recovery! Great minds think alike 😂 Cheers :) Glad to hear you’re doing well and shouldn’t need more surgeries! My upcoming surgery is my third surgery for this issue and I’m hoping for it to be my last, so I completely understand the feeling (well hopefully)

Oh my god that adorably enthusiastic speech Matt Bennett gave you at the end was so touching. I can only imagine how floored and humbled and absolutely panicked that makes you feel knowing the entire cast has watched these.

Dude, you are such a charismatic person & public speaker. A few years back, I NEVER thought I’d find myself addicted to these long form video essays about Nickelodeon sitcoms I watched once or twice as a teenager. Your ability to construct narratives and to tell stories is immaculate, and it shows because you’ve kept my ADHD-addled brain completely engaged for the entire duration of this series thus far. You’re a major source of inspiration and joy for me and plenty of others. Keep kicking ass, man!
