I have been in it and it is gorgeous. Decaying is a strong word for it. The structure, bones, and all the appointments al in great shape ( floors, mantles, doors, stairway). Wall need resurfacing and painting. Only hope who buys it does not divide it up and modernize it. Would prefer it remain in its current state.

Stunning. Even the decay is a beautiful reminder of what splendor she possessed in her younger days. I visited a home in upstate NY similar to this, although the owner kept her in beautiful shape. Only complaint is that with 5 fireplaces and ceiling fans, the high ceilings make it crazy to heat. Thanks for taking us along. ❤

Although Italinate is not one of my favorite styles. This house has retained its magnificent architecture inside and out. There was a surrealism to this house that seems timeless especially when it was an antique shop. This house has never seen modernization and I find that quite refreshing. Thanks for the trip😊😊😊

You always find the most beautiful abandoned properties. I appreciate the history that you put in the description and before and after photos. Is this mansion in an affluent neighborhood as there seems to be other large buildings surrounding it? Thanks for the tour.

It looks like someone planned to restore by taking all the furniture to a different place. Then replaster and paper the hallways. LOVE the gold bedroom!!!! Then paper the rest of the rooms Floors look good. Exteriors look great, they can wait. Would love to live there. Great library. Mine is "scattered" on all the walls, but a single room would be lovely. I'm a tad old to take this on. Still working on a 1940s building for 30 years. Neverending. Won't leave 30yrs of garden tho.

Thank you for the tour….do have a question…the antiques in the home….did they belong to the Hardees or were they from the store that resided within the walls of the home? It should be restored and made a museum….❤❤
@UrbanEyeAbandoned23 күн бұрын
Good question. I would say no, the house was owned by others through the 1900s and at one time in the 40s it was used as part of a college. I think the antique in the store were just that not from the Hardee's. The property is up for sale for 4 million dollars, it's future is unknown. Thank you for watching and for your comments and questions.

There is an adequate number of house museums already in Savannah. The stairs in any case are completely unsafe to use.

I see Alex left it the way he bought it which explains the deterioration. But overall it's not that bad off.
