The December Band - This is the complete studio session without cuts -
Organized in 1965 by the Connecticut Traditional Jazz Society for a concert at the
Moose Lodge Hall in Stanford Ct.
The guest musicians from New Orleans:
Kid Thomas Valentine tp, voc - Big Jim Robinson tb - Capt. John Handy alto-sax -
Sammy Penn drums, voc.
The local musicians from the Easy Rider Jazzband:
Bill Sinclair p - Dick Griffith bj - Dick McCarthy b - And from England Sammy Rimington cl.
This recording was made possible by Jack Guckin, who worked at a local TV station, and who arranged to video it. 24 years later in 1989 he saved the original Ampex video tapes from destruction, as they had just been thrown out into the waste-bin by the TV station, not being aware about the historic material on it. Jack Guckin actually found the tapes in the rubbish.
The piano-player from the session, Bill Sinclair, then got together with clarinet player Ferdinand Blötz from Hamburg/Germany, who then released this document on VHS-cassette.
