In this episode, Tammy welcomes guest, Janice Fiamengo to discuss issues in regards to feminism. Specifically, they cover the broad history of the feminist movement, the key influencers and events, and the general attitude of resentment against men.
Janice Fiamengo is a retired Professor of English from the University of Ottawa. She began The Fiamengo File series of KZbin videos in 2015 to discuss the fraud of academic feminism and its devastating social effects. Her book "Sons of Feminism: Men Have Their Say"
was published in 2018, containing stories from men who have suffered in our feminist culture. She is now working on a new video series to uncover the anti-male bigotry and female supremacism at the origins of feminism in the 18th and 19th centuries.

I'm a woman who fled an abusive marriage (life was threatened along with violence to back up the threat). I fled to a woman's shelter because I was across the country from any family and had no money. I was shocked when, in the group therapy sessions, women were categorically demonizing "men". I spoke up and said that I have four brothers and a father who are very kind, considerate and wonderful people, and that we cannot ever denounce an entire category of people, and was met with blank stares. It was very troubling that it was so accepted to say "men are this way" or "men are that way" without recognition that there are variations within any group, and there are God-honest GOOD men out there, who would give their lives to protect the women around them. I'm so glad I spoke up, and just pray that man-hating attitudes are called out whenever they're encountered. Yes, a dangerous, violent men exist out there, but that's no reason to apply blanket condemnation on ALL men. God bless the good men out there, you are the MAJORITY of men, and we are blessed to have you in our world, offering your gifts to humanity

@@kinglear5952 True. I would also say that there have been vast wrongs put on to men as well. For example, recently I found out that when a divorce happens it is not uncommon for the woman's lawyer to say to the judge that she is afraid. She doesn't have to prove anything. All she has to do is say she is afraid or doesn't feel safe with him, and she will get benefits (I forget exactly what) from that, like him having much less access to their children. Then he gets a protection from abuse record and now if he wants to date again he has to worry about that. A lot of women do background checks on the person she is dating and if she sees that she will see a huge red flag. Women have the power to ruin a man's life using only their mouths. The wrong kind of men can physically abuse women, and the wrong kind of women can socially and financially abuse men. I may be wrong with some of these details because I'm not completely sure about some parts of it, but I think you get the idea. Anyone can feel free to correct me. EDIT-I wrote this comment before I finished the video so please excuse the repetition!

When the people don't take their covenantal faithfulness, service, and worship in love to the LORD seriously anymore, taking it easy, developing their own ways and standards, it should not surprise us that it affects their relationship with the LORD and their personal service to him

This podcast was like a soaking rain on parched earth to my heart. I’m an English major, graduating next spring, and can corroborate everything Janice is saying. I’m a Mum of two little boys and the state of the world toward men is heavy on my heart. I think I’m called to speak up about it as best I can. This podcast made me realize how real the burden on my heart really is.

I realized this very perception that you mention almost 35 years ago. I too was what I thought a feminist was supposed to be back in the 80s. And to ascribe to its tenets and dogma was “the thing to do” among modern, single, women. I always believed myself to be a sort of self described “less attractive” woman. As it turned out my friends, two or three college friends (who I thought were more attractive than I) would bash men in conversation, and yet also were not having any dates with our male peers in college, or if we did we didn’t appreciate the men who were kind enough to ask us out. There must have been some major insecurities there too. But we didn’t discuss those aspects of each of our personal past experiences. I did meet and marry my favorite man I’ve ever known, yet as we were dating we wrote to each other often. I would read the funny cards in card stores and Hallmark shops. I soon began to realize that these cards blatantly disparaged men. Only men. I began to question my role when fomenting a disdain for men within my friend circle in conversation. And then shortly after marrying and moving to a wonderful small town we started a family. Our first child was a son and I never thought of my self as a “feminist” as such again. And the misandry-a word we never hear in the media-is a zero sum game in which the feminist sort of puts a fence around herself with her rules and misperceptions thus boxing herself off in a falsehood that actually harms her and yet is false but she believes is true. If men are so horrible, sexist, etc. so who is raising all these horrible men?

I had a quiet, gentle father who was always interested in what was going on in my life, who encouraged me in my education and told me when he thought I was going the wrong way. With a Dad like that, feminism has never had the chance to make me hate men. I have a lovely, sensitive, generous adult son, completely dedicated to his little daughter - I would never go along with men-bashing just to fit in with the shallow-minded and mean-spirited "sisterhood". And I do emphasise to my granddaughter that boys are lovely, too.

I historically rejected feminism as a movement because I couldn't tolerate their justification of their bitterness and resentful narratives.....as you discussed. My challenge was to fight the subconscious garbage that may have influenced my thoughts and behaviors. So did I, but because I saw feminism as harming women, and removing more of my rights with nothing to offer except for a small number of elite women. It was also obviously Marxist in relation to families, but in reality it increased taxation and big government, lowered wages and inflated the property portfolios of the wealthy. I was a straight A student but I told all my teachers I only wanted to be a wife and mother, and I married in my last year of highschool, nearly forty years ago. No regrets, whilst many women my age who took different paths have many.

Another English major here, from Australia, I too corroborate Janice's well reasoned, well supported points. I have shared a similar critique of feminism, especially third wave onwards, in discussion with my kids and students. I'm a Christian and God has wholeness and dignified relationships for us. I was a stay at home mum with two sisters who were and still are career focused. I watched their children so they could go out to work. They have told me that they never had a minutes worry that their children were not being cared for, that they could go to work in the knowledge that they were with me. They call me earth mother ( which I am not, I’m a mum to the best of my abilities) they have also said that I am a stepford wife. They are horrified at my belief that feminism does not work and that it’s far better to support women as I have them without the need to bring a man to his knees. They walked over my back to further their careers and that is a feminism that I cannot get on board with. Am I bitter? Angry? No, I have an incredible relationship with my nieces and nephews that they do not have with my children, I also still have my marriage. I do believe they will never be content and it’s sadness I feel for them not anger. This is the first time I have heard women talking the way I think. I’ve never needed to belong to a cause or a group but it’s so nice to see that other women still promote men. I have a son, a husband a brother, I had a wonderful father and grandfather and I cannot imagine my life without the influence and love and respect of these men. My daughter also knows the importance of men in her life and she has been independently living on her own since she was 16 1/2 years old off to college then on to university, passing her Psychology with honours this year. You don’t need to be a feminist to support women and that’s what I have guided her in. She has her own mind and she also has a healthy respect for the males in her life. Thank you ladies.

You should tell your story far and wide. More people need to hear it, though I think few would welcome it. I've long said that women who work outside the home are only part-time mothers, and not very good ones at that. You can't hold two full-time jobs, which they all insist being a mother is, and excel at both jobs. Nobody does. Something always has to give. And when you look at what they do -- it's always opt to pay someone else to be the mother figure in the child's life. They take the credit, but won't admit that it was someone else who was there for all the little things that mean so much. They betrayed their families because they wanted the glory and power for themselves. They thought they would achieve great things, getting their names in the lights, so they hired someone else to be the mother while always complaining about how tough it was to be a mother for the few short hours they actually did it.

Jennifer Harper, I'm so glad to see up and coming scientists who can see behind the facade of feminism. I agree, as a mother of 4 grown sons that the unfair treatment of men is disgusting! I've always thought that women had inborn empathy but in many cases they have no problem kicking a man when he's down and not putting themselves in another's shoes. Something my mother taught us. This talk is everything I’ve felt about my reflections on my youth, relationship with my now deceased parents and their failed marriage. How their experiences during the 2nd wave feminism and sexual revolution of the 60-70’s shaped that eventuality of their relationship. Resentment and bitterness are the two main themes I saw in my mother’s life and her lifelong self-imposed depression and misery and they all stem from her wholesale acceptance of the destruction of feminism and how it conflicted with her deep desire for male companionship. So much that she degraded herself by cheating on my father and giving of sex in the hopes of obtaining the male affection she always wanted. I fight every day to keep myself from that resentment and bitterness and to NEVER look at my beloved husband as an adversary. My heart breaks so much for my father who loved her so much but she was so corrupted by this ideology. Not to say he didn’t have his issues, but he didn’t deserve all the blame on the failure of their marriage and as a father. She willfully drove a wedge between my father and me and it is taking me a great deal of effort to work through that anger in her and myself for so much waste. Now I have my son and I am terrified for him and what a malevolent feminist may subject him to. Knock on wood.

My husband had a brain aneurism when my children were 3 & 6. He did not die, but was severely changed. Sometimes as a virtual single Mom we may appear as more forceful but for me I was strong because I was weak. It was round the time that this professor referred to, about the 1980's. With the struggles of raising the children together, apart I had no time for or belief in feminism. I was frightened for my son, and in later years as he told me how it was for him as a young man. He suicided Feb 22, 2021, perhaps compounded by an aspect of this. As a Mom watching this decline it was impossible to hold back the horror. My son was kind, genius in his field of work, generous of spirit. He had spoken to me about when he sometimes would walk down the street women would take a wide birth. He was nice looking, and had done virtually nothing to engender that response, so I see what you are saying. He was going toward his spiritual upbringing and convictions again when, what with lockdowns and all the changes he was going through at the time, caused him to not be in his right mind and, then, that death was his solution. It has been a horrifying road. Feminism is not the solution. There is a spiritual solution. I am a Christian, not perfect, but forgiven by the grace of God. Bringing awareness to young women has also been one of my goals, but the waves of this crazy phenomenon on my grandchildren are hard to hold back. The internet is rife with the agenda of all the gender changes. They are well parented. Growing up I wanted children. I had to overcome huge obstacles but it was worth it. Now one of my children is dead. It is unbelievable! I am sad, angry, shaken beyond measure. Were it not for my faith in Jesus, and even that is not my own, I could not live. The wind is knocked out of me and I can barely speak. I am the widow woman saying to Ezekiel that even dogs can eat the crumbs that fall off the table, totally devastated, but reaching to God, and as I turn my face to God, I am hopeful. Thank you for this talk. Interesting that the Salvation Army, in 1878 and earlier in England and France in the beginning, and eventually in America had a Godly spiritual solution to the poverty of those days that left families starving as the despair of men who had no work, and unable to pay for food took them to alcohol has an interesting correlation. The last three letters of feminism is: "I SELF & ME", the real oppressor, self-centered to the core, separate from God. May this post be a light in the pathway for others.

Hi Tammy, I’m not sure if you have ever heard of a woman known as Erin Pizzey, but she was the first woman ever on the face of the earth to set up a domestic shelter for women. She had tried to get the same for men, as she had rightly recognised that domestic abuse was never a gendered issue. Unfortunately she got no help for men during those early days. I have a huge amount of respect for her! I’m currently half way through this talk! It’s bloody gripping!

Good on you! Feminism has gone awry. Originally it may have had it’s time-especially after the First World War wherein women had to do the jobs of so many men. And we’re we surprised they could actually do them? This was again reinforces after WWII, and so many single moms were the result. But heroic fathers remained, in absentia, with perhaps a photo on the fireplace mantle, an honored yet silent, heroic presence. Sons and daughters need to be brought sensibly to the fold; men and women are-according to the science-are different. This is true all across the mammalian species. Feminists have erred in their negation of their most important role, utterly destroying themselves the role of motherhood.

THANK YOU both brave, gentle and wise women! I was raised in a one parent, fatherless "family". My mother fell into the 'blame men' pit for all of her difficult decisions and became a staunch feminist. It took me almost 50 years, a failed marriage and attempting to mother three boys to overcome my feminist Kain and Abel complex. I recovered from my life long feminist indoctrination when I began to wonder who men really were. Jordan's affect became life changing since he gave me the theoretical and empirical frames of reference I needed to make sense. A practical anecdote from my work as a (non-lesbian) dance/movement psychotherapist: In group work with elementary school children, I had adapted the game musical chairs so that nobody would lose. There were always more chairs than children. The boys used to complain, saying that without having a winner, this game was not fun. I used to brush them off, claiming that this way nobody would loose and be sad or angry. After listening to Jordan I began to let the boys engage in rough and tumble play. They (and I ) had great fun as they playfully roughed around while they grouped into a functioning hierarchy which was "run" by their best 'man'. He was chosen without words, within a second. He ususally was a well liked, successful but also tough boy whom they trusted to be fair but no walk over. It was a great satisfaction to de-colonize these boys from my feminism and woman's taste for other ways of being together. Thank you so much again. I will share this video as much as I can.

You cannot break this cycle as it is. All demograpics, cultural decline, family breakdown points to a downward spiral. However, there is a silver lining. Believing in the family unit, a service to society in the form of education of children, having faith in religion or spirituality, passing on the message of a brighter future (even if you have to sacrifice your own needs) might bring about a change. The other side has no investment in the future. Just resentment, abuse of drugs, children, alcoholism and ill health. Since they have no future, their progeny will likely peter out.

Thank you, Tammy and Janice for this beautiful conversation. My husband and I raised five sons. It was a lot of work, but also a lot of fun. Now they are grown and happily settled with wives and children of their own. When I was young I believed the “oppressed women” narrative. That didn’t last very long once I had a husband and sons of my own. How could it, when I could see how good, hard working, and kind they were? An honorable man, like an honorable woman, is a noble, divine being. I wish society could see the good in each gender.

Thank you for lovingly raising the next generation. I've been officially diagnosed with being emotionally neglected by both my mother and father, plus my mother cheated on my father which led to their divorce. I'm a 35 year old man now and nowhere close to having a girlfriend, let alone a wife and children. I haven't even finished repairing the damage from my youth and haven't finished trying to somehow give myself the love that I didn't get as a child. So, yeah. Happy to hear that other boys did receive a good upbringing. Thank you for raising them right. If really makes a huge difference in how a person's life will unfold.

It is hard to put into words just how damaging the withdrawal of sex can be in a marriage. I waited years, which stretched into the better part of three decades before I decided to step outside the marriage in order to feel the embrace of a woman's arms in intimacy. That decision and all that fluid from it has had its consequences, and none of it would have happened had there been a loving embrace instead of years of rejection and indifference to this aspect of the marital contract. The vow speaks of forsaking all others, which I did for decades. It does not speak of being forsaken.

Suppose a man didn't do something that women want men to do in a relationship. Surely that man couldn't get away with saying "well, did the woman find ways to make the man comfortable with holding up his end of the responsibilities?" Not an easy subject to talk about. In part because it's hard to bring up the pain that led to infidelity without seeming to condone it, and especially because women tend to be very very upset about infidelity, but not at all bothered by the kind of lack of fidelity that sexual withdrawal presents itself as to men. I'm not sure that it's something men really can explain to women (well, maybe to these women you could, but they've opened their hearts in a way many can't). I don't think womem understand what a pain and betrayal withdrawal of sex is, because they don't usually feel it. But they can easily understand the pain of women who experience infidelity. Trying to explain tends to only invite further criticism and humiliation. Some women are trying to drive a bargain (and men are too, admittedly), where they deserve and get everything they want and don't have to give anything up in exchange and keep all the cards for themselves. Men tend to try to achieve this in sex without marriage, women try to achieve it in marriage without sex. Both are a kind of lack of fidelity, because fidelity is about what you do with sex, not just what you don't or can't do with it.

This popped up on my feed and out of curiosity I listened, not sure of what I would hear. I was pleased to hear many of the same things I have felt for many years. The hostility and disrespect our society has toward men is embarrassing and reprehensible. As was stated, it doesn't do any of us any good to be at war with one another. As a married woman for 40 years with two sons, I would love to see this change. Men and women need one another and we need to respect one another for both our differences and our similarities. I was an English major, but back in the early 2000s. We didn't have all this stuff then, or at least only on the far fringes. I've enjoyed listening to Janice before. I've been in the unusual situation for the last ten years of being the primary caretaker for two little girls, while my wife was the successful careerist in our family. It was an enormous education in society, human nature, men, women, children, the problems of work, what it takes to build a home, and so many other things. Whatever women are learning about men in the academy is far less than you learn from being in a complex relationship with the opposite sex (including tiny representatives of it). The stangest place I've been seeing academic feminism lately is inside Christian churches and the books women in them read. I suppose that's not really surprising at all, in many ways. But I grew up in a small town, and so my idea of what churches are like and what the women in them are like is somewhat skewed. Not only because small town people are more conservative, but because the particular people in my town shunned anything overly ostentatious or dramatic, being mostly of German descent. They didn't get into things like that, they liked you to mind your own business and get your work done. Their faith and their politics are far from trendy and avoid notoriety. I think we all sort of assumed that whatever problems needed to be taken care of on the structural end of male/female relations had already been taken care of, and everything else was your own business to figure out. But while the simple folk were focused on living their lives and on their work, mostly, the academic class was redesigning the world and all of history, apparently.

Thank you for speaking about this. Lately I've been going through a process which I could describe as an 'awakening'. It involves looking for my place as a woman in society and in my family and part of this awakening has been noticing and rejecting a lot of feminist information I had unconsciously been absorbing and acting out in my life. I'm a wife and mother now and have noticed a great sense of peace and fulfillment whenever I lean into the more "traditional" feminine roles, those roles I was told were somehow demeaning and oppressive. Being nurturing, caring and tending to my home make me feel good. When did we collectively decide that this was a shameful thing? And while I see the pitfalls of feminism, the hatred of men, the artificial and capricious aggrandizing of women, I have yet to find my own balance. I cannot fully relate to the conservative, fully traditional life-style, I'm an artist and also feel a strong compulsion to create and have a flourishing career. I guess it's up to each of us to find our balance and our way. And one final note that I have been pondering about, a little thorn in my side if you will... I notice Janice calls herself an anti-feminist. And while I resonate with a lot of what she says and I applaud her for being a brave voice in the midst of all this, a small alarm bell rings in my heart when I see anyone be 'anti' anything. I see a reason to proceed with caution so that this new cause doesn't become a new identity that ends up undermining the valid and good intentions the person had in the first place.

This is helping in my marriage to be able to be sympathetic to my husband's perspective. I feel as if the scales have fallen from my eyes. What I find so fascinating is the number of people in this comment section who claim to be feminists but then tell Tammy she is parroting what her husband said. They inherently believe that people who do not subscribe to feminism are "brainwashed by or are subservient to men". It reminds me of liberals who believe conservatives are racist, so if a black person believes in conservative principles, "they are brainwashed, self-hating, race traitors". To me this just confirms the toxicity of the progressive ideology. Think like the group, claim your victimhood, create a stereotype of the alleged oppressor by making assumptions and broad generalizations, dehumanize those who are in the labeled group of "oppressors" in order to justify their dehumanization, target those who attempt to expose the lies of the group of self-proclaimed victims who are either knowingly or unknowingly promoting division fabricated by the establishment of global elites. Most people do not understand how the global elites have been manipulating people and orchestrating social movements for decades, if not centuries.

I’ve had three recent wake up calls. The first one was when feminist said I couldn’t have chivalry and equality at the same time. And I kind of wanted the chivalry. Interesting discussion. I'm curious though I have read research on single women without children in America and statistics show they live longer, are wealthier, have better health outcomes, and report a greater sense of happiness than women who are married with children. Which might suggest that women have benefited from the ideas of the feminist movement.

I think that the feminist movement has helped alot with women's position is society. Whereas before the may have had to endure a nasty man it has given them a choice to live an independent life. I do also think through that it really is in the females psyche to have children and it would be a mental battle or something else to supplement that feeling (dogs/cats). Just like with anyone man or woman it's all about what you want from life and what you're willing to accept. If you accept that you don't want kids and are fine single then you will be happy. Society has now come to a point where it may not be economically viable for children etc. What I do see now though is that feminism has ironically made women more masculine and so has somehow doused that thing that attracts us ro each other. You can see that relationships are failing and marriage is now a thing where its rites and vows mean nothing. No strong family structure, no strong society. If all women were happy having no children then there wouldn't be anyone for a society. That's the real power that women have.

@Mitthenstein Yes women can be picky now but choice can actually be a hindrance. Especially if women leave it late on in trying to find a potential partner. There's a reason marriage is basically in every culture on earth because it is a binding order for the chaos. We're going to see alot of scattered families and single parents and I'm pretty sure that's not good for the future people growing up in societies. In the future I see that the dynamic occurring will drop many peoples genetics out of the world. Many men won't get a partner and many women are choosing not to carry on their own genes. Therfore what you may see is either men sorta giving up or some men really making themselves the top dog. The women who are generally more motherly would be the only ones to pass their genes on maybe creating a new generation of women who are for it I dunno just thought loops. I just have this idea of saying to the world I don't want to carry on my lineage is pretty depressing but I get that it's their decision.

@Mitthenstein Where are these studies then? People don't have essences..what does that even mean? What we're possibly seeing is a return to polgyny because of what's happening. It evolved for a reason because those societies didn't function. The swades of young men who were sexless fought in wars or had monasteries or were slaves. Their is no system for them now. Its part of maturing and having healthy psychology is to be first accepted by the Mother then the father then another mate. As I said that if you'd accept it then you could be happier and didn't say that wasn't possible. But those people are in the minority and even then they'd be filling up that space with dog children or friends or something right showing that there is an attachment to something. Breaking down the marriage and motherhood is a terrible idea in my opinion and both genders will miss out. Okay the top guys will get many partners but will just get bored of it and then the women will fight over the few men they want to be with and then be dissatisfied with the rest. Where most women will then be bitter. A minority may find the whole thing a nuisance and be happier but when your all old and alone with no one to take care of you and there's nobody to hug you and love you as unconditional love provides . You think that person can really say ... 'I've got everything I need , I'm happy .' Or are they being dishonest?

I have to say, this was quite refreshing and much needed. The greatest danger to any society is the willingness of the people to believe lies. This goes back to the french revolution and elsewhere, and it's always the case that those who believe the lies are those most filled with hate and a willingness to slaughter innocent people. That you see it today in women shouldn't be surprising because it plays on the natural tendencies of women, those traits written about in ancient mythologies. Even hitler wrote, "Young women are malleable as wax". It was something understood in educated circles - once you convince a young woman something is true, she will never give it up. She will fight tooth and nail to defend it, even if that means going on the offensive to stave off any imagined attacks. I often support the idea of this inherent trait in women by pointing to the fads women engage in for no other reason than its a fad and they want to appear cool, hip, trendy, etc. The 'brazillian wax" phenomenon is my favorite example because you have to marvel at how anyone would pour molten wax on their most sensitive bits just so they could then rip the hair out by the roots. Just typing that sentence makes me shudder! More curious, though, is that when you bring that up, the women instantly find a way to blame men. They claim they "have to do it because that's what guys like" even though no guy was ever asked, and they routinely refuse to do other things that men demand of them - like making a sandwich on command. They can't square the circle on that, but the worrisome part is that they don't even try to square the circle. To them, both things can be true - men forced them to do it, but they don't have to obey men unless they want, either way, it's always the man's fault. As you can imagine, that's a horribly destructive mindset and it's no wonder that it has completely destroyed Western Civilization over the last century. What feminism has always relied on is ignorance and the willingness to believe lies. The women who led the charge knew full well that things weren't nearly as bad as they were claiming. In fact, they knew that women often had things far better than anyone else in society. But those same leaders wanted power and prestige and were willing to do anything necessary to get it. They were sociopaths and psychopaths. Unfortunately, those who fought against them didn't realize just how willing to fight they were, or how dangerous the situation was. To give you a good example of how the lies can be easily disproven, simply look up the history of Goade Stone and ask yourself how such a thing could be possible in a world where women were supposedly second-class citizens. How, in the late 1700's, could Ms. Goade not only have a business, but have one of the largest and most successful businesses in all of England, her work still on display at some of the grandest landmarks of the nation, if what feminists would have you believe held even a single jot of truth? If that wasn't enough, consider the story of Mdm.CJWalker. She died in 1919, if I recall correctly, and should have been a pauper. Not only was she female, but she was black. How is it, then, that she rose up to become one of the nation's first millionaires long before women even had the right to vote? If the feminists were telling even an ounce of truth, the story of CJWalker should be impossible. What the evil people rely on is your ignorance. They present you with lies and half-truths, tug on your heart strings, and you fall for it every single time because you won't get off your duff and do your own research. It's one thing for them to try destroying the nation, but quite another for you to go along with that destruction because you're too lazy to think for yourself and do a bit of research. That's the real sadness here, I think. So thank you for a wonderful video. I appreciate what you're doing here, and hope that your channel grows by leaps and bounds because we truly do need voices like yours in these trying times.

I grew up loving my father. Later found Jesus and God the Father and loved them both. So I never got caught up in the man-hating feminism so prevalent in college back in the 2000s. I love my husband, I love my son. I hope to make a better situation for them both.

I am currently in the latter parts of the original 'Fiamengo Files' and it is a literal treasure trove. And it has aged really well. You have to dig a bit in your memory to recall her, at the time, contemporary examples. They are 9-15 minute topical videos, organized as a playlist, which is really convenient for 'hands free' listening. I especially like how she holds no punches in her (not surprised to learn she was an English professor) soft spoken and eloquent talks, which while clearly scripted, do not come off as such. As an aside, I also like how she gives no caveats, apologies or admissions but simply lays out her well researched and argued position. In one video, she lays out some areas where men are more capable (mostly physically) without feeling the need to mention areas where women are better, which feels refreshing and leads to a more coherent argument.

I resonated deeply with this. I love to read primary sources from the 19th century, and though there is ignorance about women's biology and caution about more women in the public sphere, the general attitude is that of respect and honor toward women, particularly their moral power and good influence as mothers. There's a lot less woman hating than people seem to think there is.

Jane Austen, i recall, was appalled at the condition of her brothers' wives. Exhausted, and in one case, killed, by constant pregnancy, weaning and motherhood, she considered that her sister on laws were treated like "cattle". When they died the brothers rapidly remarried.!!

I've watched many of the podcasts with Dr. Janice Fiamengo, and found them so revealing and on the spot. I have a 21 year old son, and he is really afraid of the hate he sees from women towards men. It has really affected his confidence and willingness to meet girls. We've talked about it very often, and he is a follower of Dr. Jordan Peterson; which has helped a lot. Still it breaks my heart. By the way, I have two daughters and the conversation has always been open for everybody in the family. Thank you both for still working on this and keep bringing it to the front of conversations.

About married women needed their husband's permission to apply for a credit card. Newspapers once carried a lot of notices from men that "I will not be responsible for incurred by anyone other than myself." There was even a "They'll Do It Every Time" comic strip about this. Supposedly, it had no legal effect, but a judge might take it into account anyway.

I learned how to gather my babies in my arms and walk away and start the new life. I learned that there are men out there that want to be husbands and they want to be fathers. I'm tired of hearing this kind of talk too. I'm a woman and expected to agree with the water cooler men bashing. I always say something along the lines of, "Would you all like your husbands to share private things about you to a bunch of strangers?" They just stare, but it makes them stop talking in my presence.
