Why do kids always confuse subjective enjoyment with objective quality? The Decline is an excellent song, but saying it is the best punk song ever is callow and ironic. Punk's too diverse for anyone to be in a position to say what's the best, plus what makes a composition objectively good and why? The last part is still debated for a reason. (Examples of punk's diversity: Hot Cross, Off Minor, Discharge, Yaphet Kotto, Nation of Ulysses, Sonic Youth, Suicide, Pavement, Bad Brains, Combatwoundedveteran, The Vaselines, Algernon Cadwallader, Make Do and Mend and La Dispute.)

I bet the guys from Nofx are extremely humbled by this, including Spike who sang backing vocals and Lars from Skanking Pickle who played trombone on the original recording!!! So beautiful!! yes, this is punk rock. and they wrote a fu*king symphony. i mean NoFX, not the Orchestra, but they did the great job anyways. and thank You, i actually cried (almost 4 times but tears went down in part "And so we go, on with our lives, we know the truth, but prefer lies [...] He's got his, and I've got mine, meet the decline".
