I think the key is DARK KAIRI! And don’t say Kairi can’t become evil because she’s a princess of the heart who has no darkness in them. That line is a big fat red herring! Everyone has a darkness in them. Princess jasmine her darkness is desire. However every princess has one thing that ties them to the darkness…LOVE! THE ONLY EMOTION THAT IS POSITIVE AND NEGATIVE AT THE SAME TIME! Anyone reading this comment go ahead a deny it all you want it won’t change a thing. Dark Kairi is coming and melody of memories finale boss proves it. Kairi was getting very angry

It is very interesting Xehanort is born with the sigil of Betrayers in his Name. It is almost as if Xehanort is a Dark Vessel from the get go, and that the Master of Masters specifically saved him from that Dark Corridor to "make the Black Pieces" And through his inevitably time travel, and "this happened because it already happen", The Master scripted his scapegoated villainy. We cannot have "a Sora" without a Plot driver.

About Xehanort's and Darkness being a plague, The False Light and people being Unconscious to their Darkness is how Upper Classmates created the Darkness that consume Baldr. Baldr was "weak" and in that moment of weakness, opened the Door to Darkness. A similar thing happens to Riku, which is appropriate, because Xehanort possesses him. Darkness convinces one their pain can only be soothed by Power and Dominance. The False Light exists to foster Shadows, which foster more False Light to cover over Darkness. Fear of Weakness and being Unworthy/"lesser".

Personally I think what this speach is, is a reflection of Xehanort's suffering. He wants control, needs control because he believes he can fix everything, and if he can't why did everything happen to him? Why was he separated from his mother, and raised all alone on Destiny Islands, if he wasn't the child of destiny that could end the darkness? Why was all his friends murdered, if not for some twisted reason to set Xehanort on his path? Why meet the Master of Masters if he wasn't special? His whole life, he was deemed a chosen one, and as a result his life and his own destiny was stripped away from him. All of Xehanort's life he was the puppet of someone else, with no control over his own life or his own fate. And I think a bit of boomer humor is going on of "I turned out fine from this... so its not that bad." I mean look at Dark Road. He was almost like the leader of the search party, people where having him be the leader for a long time, so to him, he has to keep doing it, cause its the only way he knows how to protect others he cares about. He's seen what Darkness can do, he has seen what has to happen to destroy it. I think Xehanort's method is a bit gruesome, but in a way, for the greater good. By stripping away the darkness, human sacrifice to destroy said darkness would no longer be needed, and his friends... wouldn't have died for nothing.

After see this, I understand how Xehanort feeling. In the end, he’s more than a villain, but he’s man who want to save the light and the future. I believe his hardship, pain and mistake are us and Sora’s greatest teacher.

"A real leader knows that Destiny is beyond his CONTROL. And Accepts that." My dude, there is a major difference between Xehanort wanting to CONTROL the Destiny of the World using the power of Kingdom Hearts to "Dictate Their Destiny" as he says, free of consequence. And then there is Sora who may have "Changed" Destiny but he didn't control it. If Sora could CONTROL Destiny, do you think he would be technically dead right now? Or would he be on Destiny Islands with all his friends? There is a major difference in Controlling Destiny, and Changing it. There is also a major difference in fighting to change one's own destiny, and fighting to control the destiny of all worlds and people. I did a video about the deeper meaning behind Sora's words, I recommend you check that out for a more fleshed out response to this. Thanks for tuning in and sharing your thoughts!

@@inigoadinatha7897 then how would he know what a real leader would do? Also realised you cant change anything you dont control. So his act of changing fate is in itself a process of controlling it. My orginal comment stands.

@@dillonyoung5502 Which is why, besides petty things like piloting the gummi ship, Sora has never sought out dominion over anyone or anything, and graciously accepted the consequences of any major tomfoolery he might pull off, ie. disappearing because of his overuse of the Power of Waking. Contrast to Xehanort who wants to micromanage everyone, the entire multiverse in fact, while trying to weasel out of the repercussions, i.e. Norting people.

Love the video Landi! I do love what they are doing with Xehanort by adding these extra layers of complexities to his character, backstory and motivations. When we first saw Master Xehanort in BBS and all of the terrible things he did in that game as well as a little in DDD--I felt they went with the whole "oh yeah I have done terrible things in the past, like really terrible but don't worry it was all for the greater good" (almost like how Thanos tried to justify his actions in the MCU). So when I heard this dialogue for the first time--it honestly fell flat to me personally because these words will never justify his actions. But after Re:Mind, MoM and now Dark Road--I can see how these words drastically mean so much more. He has been carrying a heavy burden and expectations for a very long time, enough to have even him lose himself along the way. Thank you for breaking down this scene again with the new context and lens we have of Master Xehanort. I agree with you that this scene will have even deeper meaning as the series progresses--maybe with Missing Link!

Sora's and Xehanort's deeper meanings within their words in that scene just makes it impactful, doubly so since we've seen what happened in Dark Road. It's part of the reason why KH3 is the best.

There's also the theory that Sora, being the main character who's connected to all hearts... is actually the Player's 3rd life. He becomes the child of destiny and saves a misguided Xehanort by reminding him of the person who once took care of him and thought him about destiny, only to guide him down a different path.

Damn, Xehanort really reads like an edgy OC. he was the strongest of his class he is descended of the legendary ephemer builder of scala shado- i mean baldr turns him to darkness he caused the death of his friend Jokes aside, I really like Sora rebuking Xehanort, despite being harsh, it was ultimately the true and that was all that he needed in the end.
