Thus, the overall message of the source is that soldiers sacrifice far too much often losing a piece of themselves that being either physically, mentally or both, in the pursuit of meaningless conflicts fought for little to no reason. overall, not too bad a message, just a shitty source

none of these suggestions fit very well, guys. Having your legs ripped off by family members then somehow hovering away while they hold your ripped off limbs and waving doesn't really symbolize them not wanting you to leave, at least not to me, but maybe I'm not insane enough. Oil, yeah so what, war is bad, war for oil etc, that part is easy. But to me it looks like he's suffering war wounds at home before he even goes to war, I think the image just doesn't make any fucking sense to begin with.

I've had a pretty rare anxiety disorder that little is known about my entire life (it's bad, but it's not as bad as most common anxiety disorders) and it's so annoying when people think that's cool or special and wish they had something that nobody understood. No, you don't want an issue nobody understands. 'Nobody' includes yourself. It's not fun going through shit feelings and feeling like you have absolutely no understanding or control over it. If It were understood, I would have been treated before it became a bigger issue and I wouldn't have to find a really expensive private psychiatrist all the way in central London. Now, I don't want pity since the reality is I'm extremely fortunate to be able to access and afford the treatment, alongside having extremely accommodating and supportive family and friends who worked around my issue at all times. I like to think I'm a much stronger person because of this and would change very little (like how expensive the treatment was..), but that's only because I have a great environment and support. There is nothing enviable about not being understood by anyone.

I agree that most of the time self-diagnosis is not a good thing, but it's not always incorrect. The point is that people who have anxiety or depression or any other mental disorder don't brag about it on the internet because being mentally ill sucks and its slowly killing you from the inside. It's not cool or funny and it shouldn't be treated as a joke from edgy Tumblr users.
