@@waynesilverman3048 I think policing can definitely be done the right way, this is 100% not it. I respect this police officers situation giving it's plain day assault and he's the only pc who is there which I imagine is quite scary. Though the police are told to always be professional and shouting "are you dumb?" and "I don't care" at people is not the least bit professional. The police officer also places his hand on the mans chest pushing him back which can be argued that he was protecting the victim from who he believes might be attacking him again. Though I'm not sure giving his circumstances if he did just hit Charles with a crutch, he may be able to make a claim against the police officer for assault pushing him on the chest if he did really do nothing wrong. I don't disagree with all police or agree with all laws, but there are laws which should be there and police which I disagree with. I think this police officer actually didn't do really bad given the situation, but I think he could go through some more training for calming things down and general conduct.

A few decades ago, these people would have been in mental institutions being cared for and being kept of the street. But "caring" people thought it was wrong to separate and stigmatise them, and so we got "care in the community", which turned out to be neglect in the community. We need to bring back asylums (an asylum is a safe place) for people like this. They obviously need help. They can't look after themselves properly and they are a danger to themselves and others.

Nobody has the right to intimate others, especially in groups walking about the city. They're telling us all to be mindful of people's feelings and berating us when we get a pro noun wrong etc. But this is what real oppression is not being able to walk freely without fear of violence, in center of the city you live in. You can only be arrested for possession you can't be arrested for being under the influence of any drug unless you commit a secondary crime such as driving etc

Having drugs in your possession is a crime under Misuse of Drugs Act. Being under the influence, without another associated crime is not illegal. The arrest of drug users is unfortunately a pointless exercise, there no real support for them. Let me tell you a couple of stories: I worked in a custody suite and we had a civilian drug worker, paid for by public funds working with us covering day and afternoon shifts. We couldn't get her off her arse to speak with some who actually asked for help. Her office in the city received £200,000 funding and they CLOSED their office for the week to replace all the office furniture, carpets and computers. That's criminal.

These criminals are seen by many as poor pitiful victims , well if you really believe that, surely it is better that laws exists where they do not start self indulgence in drugs in the first place !
