With this video you will learn the 3 articles in Greek (masculine, feminine, neuter)
Hope you are enjoying this lesson, and bringing it in practice while visiting Greece :)
omilo.com/greek-language-cour...
For your info;
There is one definite (ο, η, το) and one indefinite article (ένας, μια ένα).
Of course, there is the declination of the articles (in Nominative, Genitive, Accusative), which means;
-18 formulas for the definite article;
Singular
Nominative; ο, η, το
Genitive; του, της, του
Accusative; τον, την, το
Plural
Nominative; οι, οι, τα
Genitive; των, των, των
Accusative; τους, τις, τα
-9 formulas for the indefinite article, since there is no Plural
Nominative; ένας, μια, ένα
Genitive; ενός, μιας, ενός
Accusative; έναν, μια, ένα
However, in Omilo Video, we present only the Nominative Case, which makes it 6 formulas for the definite article and 3 formulas for the indefinite article.

THank you for your comment, and happy you liked it. Most language apps do not explain any grammar, which is also nearly impossible with an automated app...But you can not speak greek, without grammar...so make sure you get a good grammar base, and you will save a lot of time... Many greetings and enjoy your language journey, kalinichta!

Hi, I just learnt how to say coffee ( ο καφές ), it is ending with ές , but you don't mention this ending in the masculine endings. Is it a particular word or situation ?
@OmiloHellas
@OmiloHellas 2 жыл бұрын
Thank you for your comment "ο καφές" is indeed masculine but it is a very special category of nouns and it has irregular plural as well. There are some words like this, for example, "ο καναπές" (the sofa) , "ο κουραμπιές" (greek Christmas sweet), o μεζές (the snack) but they are not that many and they are kind of difficult for a beginner level. So normally it is something students learn later. Greetings from Athens and keep up the good work! :)

3.37: endings masculine nouns? I think it is a mistake, is not it? I enjoy your explanations. Regards from Brazil.

Thanks for letting us know. Terpsi explains it correctly, and she says "neuter" in the video, but the written text is indeed wrong. So instead of masculine, should be written "neuter". Sorry about that. You are a good student :) Greetings from Athens

Are indefinite articles have no plural forms? Thanks.
@OmiloHellas
@OmiloHellas 2 жыл бұрын
as explained in the video, there is no plural indeed. just as in English...so you can say 'a table", "a chair", an apple... if you like to go to plural, of course, you can just say 'two tables', or 'some tables', etc..., but those words are not considered to be 'articles'.
