@@Enigma-c9v I personally think Jason is going to be difficult to pilot in 1's, but a much stronger force than people expect in 2's. His slow speed, bad disadvantage and telegraphed game plan will be easy to take advantage of in 1's although his range and power will be able to make up for it in the right hands. In 2's though, I believe his range and his strong stick closing potential will give him a ton of stage presence which can be VERY valuable in the format. The worst thing I'd predict for him in 2's is that his poor disadvantage and big body could lead to him getting team combod to death so his ally will have to he willing to play around him and support him so that could hold him back from being truly dominant.

Great, entertaining video, i don't disagree with anything really cause i didn't really play a lot of the game, and i'm not very good at judging anyway. Only thing i was surprised about is seeing stripe so low for 1v1's. On an unrelated note though, are you also hoping Walter White or some 3rd party character in general makes it in? I'd main Walt any day personally. Funniest thing that could happen to the game.

I love how true to form your assessment of Morty is: He’s a little awkward just to exist as, he survives way longer than anyone expects, he definitely has the potential, but he doesn’t have the guts to take the killing blow he needs to, and all of his flaws will easily be covered if he has a stronger partner beside him. It’s a testament to the team behind the game’s understanding of the character.

You are doing morty wrong. I hope they keep his hammer perk. You can use his snakes in small areas for easy knockouts. Even using his UFO on some stages or when players are already high up and might get confused can also get you some freebies. I didn't fully figure him out, but he has the sauce, he just has strange movement with a lot of his utility, and its difficult to keep it all straight at first. (also didn't see his grenades being used. they can be great as hazards or you can burst them near opponents to create clusters.)

I'm going to be completely honest, looking at multiversus competitive content seems super boring once it focuses on 1v1. Is the community really not that open to 2v2? The game is super fun in that format and opens so many possibilities.

I also prefer 2's over 1's myself and I do indeed think that's the best way to enjoy the game, but 1's is just inherently going to be popular due to ease if access. In order to have the same size bracket, you'll need double the players. Not to mention the fact that schedules can conflict and connections can be inconsistent when more players are required for a match so while I think 2's is better, 1's will always have bigger numbers.

Most people are just used to 1v1s, so getting them to switch to 2v2s was always gonna be a challenge for the devs.

3:50 you forgot to mention that Arya was largely held back by being too buggy and inconsistent with her up special (at least I think it was the up special I haven't played in ages) in the open betta for most players to get value out of.

Wow! Didn't expect so much research, especially this dedicated to getting fair and various opinions for the tier list. Keep up the hard work. This was great and super interesting to see all the different data. Edit: and yeah, i was a Gizmo main heavily because I love the movie and character so much. The backpack inconvenience is so true, and I mostly took advantage of the "piano down attack spam" tactic when attached to a teammate(until they nerfed it😢). And yeah, 1v1 with him was super satisfying; obviously I had to play differently, but the piano notes with popcorn created space and set ups, as well as blowing up the toy car(also nerfed car spam hits as well, so setting it up became less convenient. Both nerfs were 100% fair imo).

I made it to #2 Rick in europe by basically abusing every single mechanic this game had to offer in it's beta state. Im very excited to see this game in it's polished state. I think that, in an optimal world where the balance between the two modes is prioritized, the roles look like this: Supports rank low on 1s and high on 2s Assassins rank high on 1s and low on 2s Tanks rank low mid on 1s and high mid on 2s Brawlers are spread evenly between modes but skew low. (Simpler characters create a low skill meta) Mages are spread evenly between bodes but skew higher. (More difficult characters create a more skilled meta.) But of course, the characters are all close in power so the game feels fair, about like it does now. I much prefer a higher skill game, though, so my buffing and weakening the brawlers and mages is entirely dependent on my opinion of a fun meta.

During the beta, me and a friend who enjoyed Adventure Time decided to both be Jake in 2v2s. Jake just happened to be one of the free playable characters during that time, but not Finn. Safe to say, it was a crazy amount of fun dicking around with the skateboard, and the rest of his other moves. I actually didnt know Jake was a godtier character.

I liked the quick overview of each character, find that more valuable than the end result tier list (but for Multiversus any tierlist has inherent comedic value so I saved it to share with friends). Also didn't think of using Parsec to keep playing the game damn. Looking forward to seeing how everything gets mixed up on the full release.

MVS is goated for letting a character like Superman actually be GOOD. You'd never have characters of his variety type be good ever. This is a testament to how well designed the movesets are if he's allowed to do shit.

Superman is such a cool character in this game and I was able to become the 40th best 1v1 superman in the world. His grabs and combos were beyond satisfying and when was the last time a char was as fast as sonic and as tanky as ganon.

As a video idea for when the game releases, it might be nice to have something laying out basic doubles strategy and teamwork. It's a pretty niche format in the already niche platform fighter genre, so it hasn't had much talk around how to play it. We could use more resources going over the fundamentals.

OK, this video is great, the fact that you got opinions from multiple different players, and players who actually know what they were saying really gives some credibility. I was waiting for Iron Giant(reddit really hates this character even though he's one of the weakest in the game) and Harley tiers to decide whether or not I was going to watch the whole thing and I wasn't disappointed, I agreed with pretty much every position, I don't know much about Marvin because I was kinda done with the game when he released. I can't believe I'm hyped for Multiversus again.

I'm a superman main since day 1, whenever a new character dropped it was always the same song and dance, I would get obliterated by them for the first like 3 days or so and by that time I would have learned the match enough to get some consistent wins... That NEVER happened with Stripe, I'm pretty sure I only beat a Stripe ONCE in all the time I played multiversus and seeing him being called low tier by people that actually know what they are doing while also telling me I was using the uber tier the whole time is kinda giving me an existential crisis.

I used Steven for a long time of the beta, and when I played Black Adam, i thought ''He look like a great character with good attacks and stuff''. Well, all the characters I used look like trash in 1vs1, and in the ''complete'' game for Steven doesn't look better, I don't know for Adam, but Steven got more cooldowns and things like that.

Iron giant is being sleped on so hard in this video, specially for 1v1's, he has a very good combo game and one of the most infamous infinites in the cast, he deserves to be higher on both lists and i don't think the gameplay clip that mostly consisted of special spamming makes him any favors either

From what i remember for 1s, top iron giant was insanely broken, batman > harley post nerf, spike was broken, bugs pre nerf was insanely broken, top steven was broken. Jake and Superman by far the most broken though. Every character except reindog, taz, and lebron were broken when abused at the top level. Idk about Black Adam, quit before he was released.
