As another 27 year old looking at this... I sorta have to agree that the levels of disrespect and self-disrespect one feels they need to go through to be popular is atrocious. I would make a "back in my day" kind of comment but it would be more "back in their day" people simply needed to be a part of a funny group that sat and played video games for a living or just be funny alone and then eventually get into a group. I would also argue that people of these days are clowns when it comes to Degen Streamers, but not the kind of clown that wants to make people laugh out of kindness or boredom, the insult kind lol. The reason I really am not saying much else for it, is because as a Streamer and once passionate video editor I feel what I had done isn't too far off from the "trying to do something from nothing" grouping that most content creators fall under. I do miss when things stuck to games to be popular and not being praised for being a sociopath.
