In case you didn't know, bosses target the higher threat, so the bosses focus on the yuty and don't normally attack the deinonychus. Most people use megalosaurus but Deinos work too.

Deinos work better because of there short hitbox and on aberration megalosaurus is more of a theat in the bosses eyes then a Rex

Deinonychus are one of my all time favorite creatures! Right up there with the Barry and the Thyla. I wish I had the patience to get them fully mutated, but after about 3-4 mutations in the right stats I usually give up!

Quick tip for anyone okay with using console commands. "Cheat getegg 0" will get you a perfect copy of the dino as a fertilized egg, can hatch as male of female, all mutations carry over but seems to reset the counters on both sides to zero. The 0 at the end specifies the number of mutations you want in the egg, i therorize a 3 or any other number would still reset the counters although it might only go down to the number specified. This could be useful in stacking more mutations without raising multiple different family lines as you can easily reset the mutation counter.

@@Syntac So, I think I should clarify: I've already got 20/20 melee mutations cleanly stacked on the mother and 20/20 HP mutations cleanly stacked on the father. Then I breed the two 20/20 stacks to each other until I get both stacks onto a baby (who shows 20/20 on each side, and is 80 levels higher than my "perfect" breeders). I then breed the 20/20 + 20/20 baby AGAIN to a "perfect" breeder to get all the mutations (40/20) on one side and 0/20 on the other side, it should still only be 80 levels higher than my "perfect" breeders. I can then start a NEW clean stack of mutations on the SAME stats and then breed them in so the new "final" should show 40/20 (the combined Hp and melee stats from the original stacks) on one side and 20/20 (the new stack) on the other (then keep repeating). Did I get that right? Sorry, your "Mutations For Dummies" video is super helpful, but it doesn't go into great detail on what to do (if you wanted more than 40 TOTAL mutations) once you have the counters full on both sides (I think this is the first video I've watched where you had a combined total of more than 40 mutations). Your videos are really helpful and enjoyable, I really appreciate the response.

based on my experience in the val arena, the boss that dies last is the one who’s body disappears, so I have to try to kill the manticore after the dragon if I want a dermis, and the trophies automatically transfer into my inventory once the boss is killed, it’s either a console thing or single player thing

If you want the manticore dermis you have to kill it first and grab it before other bosses die. He despawns if he dies last.

Sucks because its the hardest one to kill because of the resistance it has but youre right, that would work. Will probably just farm it on scorched instead as its cheaper than farming the ape or dragon by themselves
