Another group with a similar sound is The Silhouettes with their song "Get A Job" from 1957 although kids from the 70's remember it as a hit for the tv group "Sha-Na-Na". Another good one by The Del-Vikings is called Whispering Bells. :) Love some Doo-Wop once in a while :)

I LOVED this reaction. It's so weird, just the other day I was listening to this song and although I've known all my life they were a "mixed", "integrated" group, I never really let myself hear the different styles mingling to create a perfect record. In a way, it's the most rock & roll record ever: is it a black record? It is a white record? This is what people were asking when Elvis came out, and then a year later when Chuck Berry came out, and it totally applies to this one. This is what they were fearing, why Congress had hearings to try to stop rock & roll, why the KKK and other racist elements were so against it: they did not want the races to mix. This record is a gob of spit in the face of all that. I always just heard it as a catchy tune, a cool record that captures a moment in time, a specific night (or day) that they recorded the song, it sounds so fun! Now I hear it as something way more revolutionary.
