What is happening in America is horrible as a naturalized American citizen I am horrified that America is becoming theocracy we need to do everything we can to get organized religion out of politics otherwise is just going to get worse.

Adoption is also expensive and a long process. And the foster care system isn't great either. I would absolutely hate being pregnant. I don't want to go through that.

Adoption is very expensive. Not everyone can afford that.

How do procescutors know who went out of state? Doesn't HIPPA guarantee medical privacy?

"The unborn" are a convenient group of people to advocate for. They never make demands of you; they are morally uncomplicated, unlike orphans, they don't need money, education, or childcare; they allow you to feel good about yourself without any work at creating or maintaining relationships; and when they are born, you can forget about them, because they cease to be unborn. It's almost as if, by being born, they have died to you. You can love the unborn and advocate for them without substantially challenging your own wealth, power, or privilege, without re-imagining social structures, apologizing, or making reparations to anyone. They are, in short, the perfect people to love if you want to claim you love Jesus but actually dislike people who breathe.

Thanks! A couple of future legal topics: 1. Every miscarriage creates a murder suspect. 2. Doctor malpractice insurance. 3. Are doctors being prohibited from relaying information about any threat a pregnancy may have. Many of these threats are not 100%. We know from countries that already have abortion bans that doctors regularly turn away pregnant patients because who wants to face a 15 year felony charge and loss of license? Given these felony penalties it means insurance companies will raise rates for OB/GYN Doctors. Perhaps insurance companies will create a carve out for OB/GYN much like home owners have special carve outs for earthquake insurance and OB/GYN will have a carve out for miscarriage/life saving abortions. The religious right is out in full force stating that abortions for miscarriages/eptopic/life threatening are legal in all States banning abortions. The lie of it is why would a doctor risk it? Again, evidence we have already from countries that have banned abortions for decades indicate doctors will not take such risks so the "legal" abortions for miscarriages and such are a farce. It would be nice to get some further legal information on these topics.

Every miscarriage could open a homicide investigation taking police from stopping and investigating actual crimes.

Question: Let's assume that abortion protections are codified into law federally. Not just exceptions for rape, incest, or protecting the pregnant person's life. It seems to me that the Supreme Court's majority opinion weighed heavily in saying that Roe was wrong because it should have been codified by the Legislature and not decided by the courts. First off, what would stop one of the abolition states like South Carolina in getting the law back before SCOTUS to overturn, and secondly, what do you imagine Thomas's or Alito's reasoning will be in overturning the law?

The states wanting to abolish abortion are almost exactly inverse of the states that wanted to abolish slavery. If the Rebs win back the Senate and Congress and would implement a national ban, how would such a ban stack up to a States's constitution which guarantees abortion?
