Fun fact, in AAA, Judas Mesias is actually named ''El Mesias'' (In spanish: ''The Messiah'') and was given a bit more importance than in his time in TNA. He was treated like such a badass that he got ''Requiem for a Dream'' as his ring entrance theme. Hell, he held the Megachampionship (the promotion's biggest title) for quite a long while before going to Lucha Underground as Mil Muertes. And even though his better years are now past him, he still has a job in the wrestling biz in Mexico and his neck of the woods, Puerto Rico. So yeah, the guy was a big star in Latin America.

He was the top babyface in AAA for a while, 2009 was his year as THE man until Dr Wagner Jr stepped in, and they had a series of fantastic matches. Years afterwards he got to work with legends like Sting, Blue Demon Jr and even wrestled AJ Styles for the TNA World Heavyweight Championship

Mesias (Ricky Bandera) is a great dude, also one of the best wrestlers from Puerto Rico. I asked him once why he never tried to join WWE (by that time WWE was already a disaster) and he just said "Nah, I'm good in AAA". Honestly, there are a lot of people you can do this segment on for TNA. Moose (no, not that one) AKA Mickie Knuckles with 3 TNA matches, Rhaka Khan with 16 TNA matches, Roderick Strong with 28 matches (though of most these were on TNA Xplosion so you can skip those), Great Muta with only 4 matches (not including One Night Only) and even CM Punk with 7 TNA matches. I nominate Punk for your next Ring Of The Hawk segment.

Where's your video on Grado's TNA run? That guy was a massive dumpster fire! Everything about him was a massive rerun of Big Daddy, but at least Daddy had some redeeming qualities to him in that he was somewhat entertaining to watch in his era. Grado was doing the same tired stuff that Daddy did, but 30 years out of date. I'd really love it if The Hawk ripped this guy to shreds.

Grado is the perfect example of a regional star, He may have been one of the most over people in Scotland in the entire business at the time. Actually Ricky Banderas is a really good wrestler, je just was booked poorly in TNA by having him feud with Abyss from the get go. He's barely 5' 11", so also booking him as a monster didn't make sense. When he was wreaking havoc here in PR he was booked more like a "crow" Sting character, was a hardcore specialist and wrestled a similar style to Jerry Lynn.

4:55 - no dq because you can't hit someone with a weapon - but very rarely will you be punished for hitting a weapon with a person. Hence, ring steps and ringpost - to which i've only ever seen one person DQ'd.

@@SirManfly agreed. But I feel TNA didn’t really know how to push him and make him big like Abyss.

At 1st i enjoyed the "one night only" shows...like the first few shows...liked the 10th anniversary show...with a lot of old fueds reignited...also liked the tournament of former world champs...i also liked the concept of jokers wild...i liked the knockouts knockdown i think the called it...then as it progressed and impact almost went outta business the shows just got dumb!!! And by the way....warrior v judas "el" messias??? Wtf??? Yes low ki's ringname at the time meant warrior....it means warrior in another language(cant remember which language)....but low ki went by the name SENSHI!!! Woulda thought ya knew that...suppose ya prolly did and it was a corny joke...

- The problem of Judas Mesias is that he might be the biggest guy in Mexico and Puerto Rico, but he is roughly the size of Eric Young ( a bit wider). - Other than chugging blood he seemed to have little ways to be intimidating to Abyss and he looked like a midget next to him. - I think he could've done better if he had wrestled Christian earlier (so he would've looked bigger and better), then move to Abyss...

Judas Mesias is a LEGEND in Puerto Rico, Mexico and Latin America. You criticize this wrestler negatively when 100% with his TNA issues were BOOKING. Learn the difference between overall talent and booking.

Reasons the Abyss/Mesias angle completely flopped: #1. It was a blatant ripoff of the Kane/Undertaker feud from 10 years prior, and everybody knew it. #2. Due to the obvious size differences between the two, Mesias almost never looked like an opposing threat to Abyss in any one of their matches/confrontations. #3. Due to his injury in Mexico and the 5 month hiatus he took right after his TNA debut, by the time Mesias made his return and attacked Abyss, the storyline was long forgotten by fans, thus nobody even cared at that point.

I actually like Judas Mesias. I like his in-ring work and his entrance theme but his time in TNA was sqaundered by bad direction, a confusing storyline and a largely forgettable Barbed Wire Massacre Match VS. Abyss. If you wanna see some good matches by Mesias, check out his work in AAA as El Mesias (I recommend his silly-but-fun-and-violent feud with Cibernetico where one of them got thrown into a volcano..... because lol) and Lucha Underground as Mil Muertes.

Do they realize Judas Messiah's is Mil Muertes from Lucha underground? The only problem I found was that he was never booked as properly as he should have and he's never been able to capture the american market with the Messiah gimmick.

I really shock about he fight in tna with character a abyss' step brother.
