A lot of people poo poo on games that use store bought assets but that is mostly because a lot of devs don't do very much with those assets so it can look lazy or out of place, especially when you see the same assets over and over again in different games. This game is a great example of how you can really make something that looks awesome with pre-built assets from a market place. You can use them as a foundation to build upon with your own art style and design choices just like how Phasmo did. Also, is that hole in the wall a reference to Silent Hill 4? Loved that game despite it not being nearly as good as the previous titles imo.

I really think the rewards in this game need to be balanced out. Abandoned house not only doesn't pay as much as the other two, but it's also way harder, and yet 1) it's the first map and 2) requires you to buy 2000$ worth of items to do the exorcism, with the serious risk of losing them, while Cyclone st. and the hospital can be done 100% with just the base equipment, thus not losing any money. That's the only really big issue this game has in my opinion.

The hidden ability ghosts definitely have different behaviours programmed. I've never been killed as fast by a ghost as a namaah. Boogie can be surprisingly talkative and active.

Romero- Either a Doom or The Walking Dead reference. Ball down the stairs- Penn. State Sanitorium reference. TV Crawler- The Ring Wild haired old lady- One of the Nancy Drew games references. Camera- Say Cheese and Die. Maria Room- Steven King reference. Bugs from the wall- Saw or Final Destination reference. This game is jam packed with hidden references from real life paranormal experiences to horror movies and game references.

31:50 Wasn't expecting to hear about Sunless Sea! I played that game for 70 hours, amazing writing and atmosphere, very text heavy but so good! Totally recommend for anyone interested, both Sunless seas and Sunless Skies (kinda of a sequel).

Hey Insym, I found out about a really cool game called Darkwood. Its a survival horror game in which you are trapped in a cursed forest and your goal is to scavange for materials during the day and bunker in your house and set up traps to defend against the monsters during the night. Its really creepy and it has really cool game mechanics. It really gave me the chills and all I wanted was to survive for another day. I couldn't finnish it by myself but maybe you can give it a go? Also its open world...obviously.

Not gonna lie, these exorcisms are a bit underwhelming. You spend X amount of time looking for parts for a gun just to shoot the ghost once and it's ... over? It should be the more items you're finding... the ghost is noticing you getting them, and gets increasingly more difficult to get away from. THEN when you find all the parts you get a chance to fight it off. Just imagine if the movie the exorcist was this easy "My daughter has some weird things going on... welp, all better" "Oh... what? Okay..."

Gettig the gunparts is rarely easy on higher difficulty. It's near impossible if you take even slightly too long finding out the ghost. That said, they changed it with today's patch and made the secondary objectives randomized (and longer on hospital)

The reason the cockroach is on the EMF is because Roaches love the sent of the human body oils, They tend to be around corps and as well. I think it was a great idea to put it in the game and I never seen that kind of design on a ghost hunting game.

I would like to ask an advice: I've just started the game, went into the Abandoned House, encountered the ghost, brought in more tools to gather evidence, then on the 3rd return I was attacked and killed through the mirror (Most likely lost all sanity). How to counter that? My flashlight was on all the time + all the lights in the house (that weren't destroyed upon switching on) were also also up. There is no sanity pill available at the very start of the game, so how what's the deal here?

In that room with the hole on the wall I noticed that the symbol that appears on the wall on that event was the summoning circle of the demon Buer, and it's even written on the symbol his name, I don't know if that's the answer but maybe trying to speak his name activates something?

If you get hunted by a slow ghost you can loop between two loops ... so you run to a loop, loop it to change direction, then run to other loop, loop it, and run back to the other loop and repeat.

I don't know if I have an old version or something, but I triggered a hunt after exorcising the ghost on the second map and couldn't leave as it wouldn't stop the hunt, but if I went to the ghost room where it was flashing while standing still it wouldn't kill me... Forced me to quit the game and lose a rounds worth of points.

game is cool, but i think it was released a little early. the hunting system is a little.. *bad*. the saving grace and the absolute highlight of demonologist are all the unique and creative ghost interactions. lots of potential there.

While this game is cool, it has too many jumpscares. Phasmophobia and Conrad's Paranormal PI are better for their lack of jumpscares. Jumpscares are a lazy crutch to spookiness and a barrier to entry for people like me (who love spookiness but dislike being deliberately startled).
