I would be okay with Barry, but l would prefer us to bring players through. We did very well last year with the youngsters and we need to be looking to blood some of those that we already have. I get that there will be some who disagree with me and l accept that, however we will need fresh players soon, so why not take a punt at homegrown.

If the reported buy out for esse is 12m, we should offer him a new deal with a 20m buy out, surely he’s worth that? Offer him 10% of the transfer fee and he walks away with 2m and us 18m. The buying club are still getting value at 20m.

One thing we definitely do not need is anymore centre midfielders. We have : Saville, De Norre, Mitchell, Kelly, Wintle, Honeyman, Massey.

If we believe he can do it at Championship level then make Villa a sensible offer to sign him outright. We have too often fallen foul of loaning young promising players only to see them prove themselves at Championship level (to a point where we can't afford them).

​@DanielWynn-v7bit isn't all about what Villa would like; it's about what someone will pay/what the lad wants. 99% of fans didn't expect Tanganga to sign but he saw it as a stepping stone and it worked out nicely. Funds are largely neither here nor there for the EPL clubs. Besides, there is hardly a clamour for his signature; Derby getting mentioned purely because they will guarantee him game time and he can move back to the West Midlands and commute. I guess my point is this; if we get £10m+ for Esse then offers £4m+ for the likes of Louie Barry may well prompt a move. Afterall, good players at League One level are swapping clubs for £1m+ with ease. Regardless, let's hope for the best and expect the worst. ✌️

WHO AM I??? I scored a wonder goal from 30 yards at Norwich for the equalizer that led to our 2/1 win just before the Christmas break. Scored the only goal at bitter rivals: Blackburn with a marvellous diving header and today we played a League 1 team so I was a sub but came on for extra time and scored the 2 goals then. The first,I slotted home from the edge of the area and the second goal,I hooked in while on the floor. Ao WHO AM I ???? clue: "I come from Amsterdam and xxxxxxx hate Blackburn"... YES!
