I recently purchased a Denix Mp40 replica to complement my old spec deac Mp40. I am impressed by accuracy of the repo except the sling. I have fitted a genuine sling to mine and must say it looks much better for it.

I just got a Denix MP40 and am happy with it overall. However the only thing I don't like is the magazine rattles a bit unless you are holding it in the shooting position. I would imagine on a real one the loading/shooting mechanism locks the magazine firmly in place. However with no such mechanism to do this it rattles a bit. Anyone have any tips to stop the rattle without being too visible? Thanks

Mines fine but I suppose it depends who puts them together,you could try to make the end of the mag wider by adding some sheet modelling lead so it holds in the mag well better

Certainly one of your older videos, but you haven't aged a bit. I have had to purchase some replica items recently, since an original piece is way out of my reach. I will be doing a video on this theme, or topic soon. Sometimes original, or deactivated is strictly a rich man's game, and so a stand- in is required for display. Having the same look, feel, and weight of the the real thing is acceptable in my view. I have two examples that fit the bill. You were lucky to have gotten a jump start years ago before the collecting craze really took off. One can have original fully functional firearms or deactivated originals, but when the impossible is impossible, the next best thing is a replica. I had to laugh at the " F" words describing the sling though. Good stuff C J!
@historicmilitaria1944
@historicmilitaria1944 6 жыл бұрын
thanks...yep, sadly most deacs which were cheap purchases are now out of the hands of most collectors...I would not like to start again, and yes, replicas do have a legit place in the display,cheaper than a deac. look forward to viewing your vid.

How often can you play with the charging handle?
@historicmilitaria1944
@historicmilitaria1944 3 жыл бұрын
its more of a sturdy construction than the denix garand...the denix garand handle is attatched to the slide by a shitty imitation alloy screw and it all falls to bits after some time, but the mp40 is better constructed.

if your going to spend $150 on a gun thats only for looks it should be able to field strip lol
@historicmilitaria1944
@historicmilitaria1944 10 жыл бұрын
no point in it being field strippable..as fullsize replica metal weapons are not actually fullsize, they are a fraction smaller so that a fireable weapon cannot be made using the parts interchanged with that of a fullsize model of the same gun...a denix replica of this particular gun is about £150 whereas a fully welded up original that does nothing is £900.....

yo ushould have a lot more views then you do. I did not know this repro existed til they mentioned it on an NRA video about the real MP40. In the US some people still own completely legal ful lauto weapons, some states are more lenient then others, but regardless of your state of residence, they all fall under the Federal national firearms act of 1935 re. full auto weapons and later amendments. ANY full auto weapon had to have been in the US and legal, prior to 1987. No new full auto weapons can be registered by a civilian, so the feds who all hate guns so much, mean to let the supply dry up, obviously.

I'm in the process of buying an Umarex MP40 with Battlefield Finish. I own a some non firing Denix replicas and some Umarex CO2 steel BB ones. I'd like to to one day compare Denix Vs Umarex to see what's more real looking. The advantage to Umarex is they can actually shoot and be used and are often licenced by Colt, Barretta, etc but the Denix have a chunky metal feel I like. No one has ever done this before

I don't like the finish on the Denix weapons,so I did an experiment on my Denix Ppsh41. I got some steel wool and rubbed over the areas that usually wear then I hand buffed the Painted metal surface with Black car polish which gave it a smooth shiney metallic finish. I've got an MP40 coming soon and going to do the same.Makes them look more realistic.
