The traditional Dane axes are actually quite thin and would be blunted or damaged by chopping wood. There are other types of war axes that are more resilient and can be used very effectively against chainmail, brigandine, etc. ​@@anti-mate407

@@anti-mate407 Yeah fighting axes tended to be a bit different from axes used as tools, that said a fighting axe would probably still do a decent number on a door especially the dane axe which was a bit heavier.

Don't forget they also have heavy cavalry that specialises in countering the enemy's heavy cavalry. People who says Danish Cavalry (Huscarl and War Clerics) sucks just don't know how to use them and try to charge against Infantry like any other factions heavy cav. Don't do this instead have them intercept and attack the enemy's heavy cavalry in melee. Your Huscarls and War Clerics most of the time have an advantage over the heavy cavalry of the enemy because your units have armour piercing axes against the enemy's knights swords and your units have good enough stats to fight knights in close combat. Use Huscarls for the early game and War Clerics for mid late as the Danes lack any spear units besides the Spear Militia and you don't get any alternative until the sword-staffers and objescheer and they are late game units

I hated/loved the Danish War Cleric. In one campaign as England where I modified the game so that each turn is roughly 6 months in game. I got into a 200 year war with Denmark. Me, Denmark, and the Turks were the three sole remaining factions. I have Western Europe, North Africa, and Jerusalem. Demark had central Europe and the Middle East. The Turks conquered Russia, Eastern Europe and Central Asia. It was a slog, fighting through Central Europe, siege after siege, battle after battle, stack after stack if Danish War Clerics. Those Danish bastards made mince meat out of my English Knights and were tough enough to simply charge a spearline and break through.
