We all have to recognize the "appeal" of living in simpler times, yet fail to remember how antiquated the medical field was back then. Bodie and all the other mining towns filled with folks suffering from vicious hangovers with a pair of sidearms ready to vanquish anyone foolish enough to confront them... Then you had the folks with teeth that needed pulling and just a bottle of whiskey to help kill the pain ! Great short !

@brandon38834 жыл бұрын
@@B3AROTAN no; Tarantino writes amazing screenplays, but I don't think he could pull off a series, at least not at the level of his movies. This particular short gives us all sorts of possibilities: not just in this current scene/situation, but also as far as the overarching story - both in the short and long history - of "the dentist." Was he expecting to be bushwacked by this particular highway man? Quite possibly, given how things turned out. But on the other hand, if The Dentist was a bounty hunter, why would he keep playing the part of "the dentist" after having his prey at gunpoint? Is this a major character quirk? Does he consider himself a medical professional so much that he honestly and truly *needs* a life (in a small town or similar) where he can live out his days fulfilling a life of teeth-pulling as his True Profession, while being a man-killer as little more than a moonlighting gig between carving wooden dentures and ripping out blackened molars? I for one would happily watch this as, say, an 8 1-hour episode series. But alas I'm just an overly tired idiot in the internet who has drank enough to type out all thus B.S. of a comment rather than doing something worthwhile with his life, so I'm probably not the best judge when it comes to "episodic action-drama potential." 🤔🤷♂️

Great photography, great editing, good music, good acting, good script and interesting ending. At first I thought it was a bit iffy, but at the same time I want to know more about this "dentist"/killer/bounty hunter or whatever he was. I really like the personality trait of an organizer, everything neatly packed, folded and stowed. I wished it was longer and the gunshots could've been way louder, in my opinion. 3,7/5! Keep up the fine work!!!

Keep up the great work! I am looking for quality short films and this met that. I feel like actors now days have lost the art of acting but here they performed the art effortlessly!

One Oscar for the Story, one Oscar for each of the actors, one Oscar for the camera. Great idea, filmed to the point.

Outstanding; really draws me in and makes me want to watch the other shorts that you produce and star in. This had the look and feel of a major production house that was ready for prime time and the big screen. Good job! Keep making them like this and the offers will come in from the major studios.

So being a reformed horseman myself, when I saw the wagon being pulled by a mule, I thought. "Oh, this might not suck".

AND...That my friends, was this short film depiction of the birth of Doc Holliday (true life character) as depicted in the 1993 movie "Tombstone." Starring Val Kilmer as Doc! One of my favorite movies of all time and definitively my favorite character from that flick! Although they don't claim it here and that movie never really provided Doc's history, this was a great depiction! Well done!

The 60s western show High Chaparral has an episode called "The Doctor From Dodge" which features Doc traveling to Tombstone.

Didn't see the ending coming-at all-and could truthfully say the quality of this short is better than many 2+ hour productions in the commercial sector. Thank you.

I just wrote a script, a short 3 minute western. I love the twist this film had. Good job.

There was a dentist in my home town that placed all the teeth he pulled into an ever growing concrete pillar in front of his dental office. When the dentist passed away, the monument was over five feet tall and a couple of feet wide. I did not think it was a good advertisement for saving one's teeth!?!!

Cool, a short that was actually entertaining, unpretentious and made sense. Too many shorts are pompous garbage by folks that think they are the next biggest thing to hit Hollywood. Well done!
