1 Corinthians 15:1-6
You can grow up in church your entire life and never truly hear the gospel because receiving it and being transformed by its power requires God to move.
We exist to love God, love people, and make disciples of Jesus Christ.

11:11 describes it completely. I walked away from Christianity in my 20s precisely because of this reason. It was given to me as a moral code and I had never had any tangible relationship with or experience of Jesus / Gods grace. I was brought back to the faith through receiving his grace when I had run my life off the rails and it changes everything.

of course im a christian why because i do not walk according to the coarse of this world anymore!! The reason i know i am a christian is because the holy spirit changed me into a new creature therefore displaying the fruits of the spirit!! i never use to be kind or patience or long suffering but now i am because of the holy spirit in me. I can not do anything in and of my self but i need the power of the holy spirit to work through me. Therefore giving him all the glory for his work on the cross. Just remember that the gospel is the means by which you are saved. its the conduit the ladder that Jesus threw down to you in the pit. but to be truly saved GOD SENT THE SPIRIT TO TRANSFORM YOUR SPIRIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 🙋‍♀️ I grew up in church but legit never heard the gospel until I was 27. It was a United Methodist church in western PA. So, a little bit different culture from the Bible belt. I was told the Old Testament is “just stories” and Jesus came from God to teach us about loving each other. I became an atheist in high school until I was 28.

Acts 26:22 To this day I have had the help that comes from God, and so I stand here testifying both to small and great, saying nothing but what the prophets and Moses said would come to pass: that the Christ must suffer and that, by being the first to rise from the dead, he would proclaim light both to our people and to the Gentiles.” Luke 24:26 Was it not necessary that the Christ should suffer these things and enter into his glory? Zechariah 13:7 “Awake, O sword, against my shepherd, against the man who stands next to me,” declares the Lord of hosts. “Strike the shepherd, and the sheep will be scattered; I will turn my hand against the little ones. Zechariah 11:7 So I became the shepherd of the flock doomed to be slaughtered by the sheep traders. And I took two staffs, one I named Favor, the other I named Union. And I tended the sheep. Zechariah 11:10 And I took my staff Favor, and I broke it, annulling the covenant that I had made with all the peoples. So it was annulled on that day, and the sheep traders, who were watching me, knew that it was the word of the Lord. Then I said to them, “If it seems good to you, give me my wages; but if not, keep them.” And they weighed out as my wages thirty pieces of silver. John 10:11 I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep. Isaiah 59:15-21 Truth is lacking, and he who departs from evil makes himself a prey. The Lord saw it, and it displeased him that there was no justice. He saw that there was no man, and wondered that there was no one to intercede; then his own arm brought him salvation, and his righteousness upheld him. He put on righteousness as a breastplate, and a helmet of salvation on his head; he put on garments of vengeance for clothing, and wrapped himself in zeal as a cloak. According to their deeds, so will he repay, wrath to his adversaries, repayment to his enemies; to the coastlands he will render repayment. So they shall fear the name of the Lord from the west, and his glory from the rising of the sun; for he will come like a rushing stream, which the wind of the Lord drives. “And a Redeemer will come to Zion, to those in Jacob who turn from transgression,” declares the Lord. “And as for me, this is my covenant with them,” says the Lord: “My Spirit that is upon you, and my words that I have put in your mouth, shall not depart out of your mouth, or out of the mouth of your offspring, or out of the mouth of your children's offspring,” says the Lord, “from this time forth and forevermore.”

God resurrected the Messiah! The Messiah will resurrect his people at his coming! The destiny of the Messiah and his people is to be ON THE EARTH! The renewed restored earth! God also dwelling with them! Rev 21 Matt 24 14 And this gospel of the kingdom will be proclaimed throughout the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come. @@servicioskydcr7635 i heard a good portion of the beginning and a good portion towards the end, to realize this is not Gospel. His message is filled more on personal stories, that is apparent, that he preaches a social Gospel to make it more relevant to his listeners. At the end, he does not discuss sin, lost, nor any of the major components of the Gospel. His approach is that of Joel Olsteen were he does not cross the line in offending anyone or telling anyone they stand condemned without Christ. Nor does his ending even address repentance and sin. This pastor’s name is listed on the New Apostolic Reformation-NAR- of false teachers along with TDJakes, Joyce Myers, Benny Hinn snd all false teachers and preachers. Let me know if you want to see that list. Don’t be deceived! He does not preach scripture but a social gospel which is no gospel at all. I hope this pastor. reads my comments concerning his preaching and searches for the truth I am speaking about.

A few of my notes on this sermon and a couple time-markers for the beginning of some topics relevant to what you mentioned... 😊 13 minute mark- original creation of God is good, for His glory, and for the joy of His people 16 minute mark- our response is sin, brokenness, distrust of God/believing the lie that we know more than God, choosing creation over the Creator, failing to acknowledge Him 19 minute mark- God’s response time our response is not to just evaporate us, but rather is patient with us. He lavishes long-suffering love on and towards us. He moves toward us. 1 Cor. 6:9-11- We’re all guilty, stuck, unable to get out of our own mess. BUT GOD! He washed us. Christ died for our sins in accordance with the Scriptures. (1 Cor. 15:3) But have you surrendered your life to God? Fruit from a life trusting in Christ’s finished work. 26 minute mark- The Gospel is not simply a door, but the whole house. “The Gospel in which we now stand” Even as followers of Christ, we still need reminded of the Gospel- we can have freedom from sin because of the finished work of Christ. We surrender and trust Him. Our need of Christ does not cease with our believing. In His righteousness alone can we rest. Believing that I’ve been set free from my sinful nature. Romans 6:1 True belief in the Gospel leads to Radical following, call into holiness, release into battle... Romans 6:1-4 how can we who died to sin live in it anymore? The old man is *dead*. Be violent against your sin. Make war against it. That’s not your primary identity. You are a child of God! Sin is not your master. Ongoing ethic of confession and repentance... Sin- That’s the kind of stuff that will murder you- so you put it to death. Choke out the space in which he (the enemy) plays. Washed, sanctified, justified. The perfection of the finished work of Jesus Christ. If there is no hatred in your heart towards your sin, you’re not a Christian. The Gospel is a call to “come and die”. Hating sin not merely because of its consequences but because it is an offense against God and not who you are- evidence of the Spirit inside of you. Do you believe it and are you following Him? Don’t let the enemy hold you captive. He’s defeated. Also, he did end the message with a invitation to Christ, in context of that meaning a life surrendered to Him, laying down and putting to death our sin, and following hard after Him in community. Hope this helps and encourages you in your walk with the Lord! I’d definitely recommend like the other person who replied to listen to a whole sermon before making claims on what they did or didn’t say. The Gospel is a beautiful thing and not something to miss out on. 😊

@@hannahlarson1066 Nope, I rewatched the video again and during the part where Matt Chander discuss and describes our respond to G-d, (Romans 1) he pacified every thing to cleaverly curcumvent in using scriptural terms that may be offensive such as sin, adultery, homosecuality, the wrath of G-d, we beome fools, lust, and the rest found in Romans 1 18-32 which is the scripture he was refering to. Yet, if he was referring to Romans 1, how is it that not one of these words came up as in scripture to describe us? this is 16:30 on th video Romans 1: 28-32 - 28 And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a debased mind, to do those things which are not fitting; 29 being filled with all unrighteousness, [l]sexual immorality, wickedness, [m]covetousness, [n]maliciousness; full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, evil-mindedness; they are whisperers, 30 backbiters, haters of God, violent, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, 31 [o]undiscerning, untrustworthy, unloving, [p]unforgiving, unmerciful; 32 who, knowing the righteous judgment of God, that those who practice such things are deserving of death, not only do the same but also approve of those who practice them. It;s amazing how Matt Chandler can think he is preaching the Gospel, discuss Romans 1 yet cleverly circumvent using any of the term scripture uses to describe us. In other worsd, Matt Chandler lies to his listeners by not accusing anyone of the very thing the bible describes us before coming to Christ. he pcified the actual status and made ti look not that bad. Matt Chandler is another Joel Olsteen clearly seen in his preaching.

@@hannahlarson1066 In addition, he describe our attitude as saying in 16:59 minutes into the video " ah I really dont want G-d but like his stuff" ??? No where in scripture does it sat that we dont like G-d but like his stuff...we are in emnity with G-d, against G-d and hate all that he has to offer in the state of our unregenerated life. Matt chandler curcumvented this fact and pacified it with his unbiblical comment of "ah I really dont want G-d but like his stuf" . He address that we choose the created over the creator, he also stated that the second response to G-d is that we think we are smarter then G-d and continues to quote Romans 1 but conveniently omits all the other harsh description of the unregenerated man because its too offensive. He then descripes how depraved we are in nature by giving him no credit for all the good and blame him for anything bad (video time 19"15-22). That is crazy, With all the negative things that bible scribed us in Romans 1, he chooses things that are not offensive to say. We are worst off then what he portrayed. I cant even continue to listen to him preach on how passive he has made our depraved state of being as a unregenerated sinner. if you want to feel good and think Matt Chandler is a gospel preacher, you are slo deceived. He is another Joel Osteen and wanting not to offend anyone and pacifies sin and the wrath og G-d which he does not even say such words.......
