If there’s something I would love for a Persona 4 remake to do, is to embrace the whole narrative driven murder mystery structure it goes for the majority of the main story. Like you mentioned, make the dungeons have more puzzles to solve and add more visual storytelling to them as a way of the player base have some thinking of its creations like reading a murder mystery novel or film. And for the Investigation Team legitimately feel like a true Investigation Team. They can still have the whole casual teenager fun stuff, but also make them feel like they want to protect more the town of Inaba, maybe adding more optional quests to solve random queries around town.

she also stated 1 and 2 will get some remastered/remake treatment. it's gonna be interesting as while reload does have a slight divide, this also happened with the psp remasters with the changed ost and slightly awkward gameplay changes (IS battles last even longer in psp then psx due to the UI),persona 1's ost was completely changed and no way to hear the old music and it performed worse then the ps1 did in sales so one hope is that they bring the old ost back as i feel that the late composer's works before he died not having much recognition years later and the PSP ost is kind of mediocre and tainted the perception of the game for most people. funny enough the PSP remaster we didn't get was EP which is actually an improvement over the original with the option to use the original ost, along with decent PSP remixes, more story content and the UI for battles remaining the same

And I instantly think that Yomotsu Hirasaka will be the perfect candidate for that I mean, they can simply introduce it early in the game and turn it into the dungeon that is not story-related (at first). They can even put the bonus bosses of the story dungeons (e.g: Contrarian King, Intolerant Officer, etc.) in Yomotsu Hirasaka like the Tartarus or Mementos bosses

I don't mind P4 getting a remake, I just think P1 and P2 should get both modern ports(akin to what P4G and P3P got) and remakes before it. They are much older than P3 and P4 and have no real viable official means to play the older versions and they aren't accessible. P3 also was in a weird spot because so many people wanted a definitive edition due to FES and P3P differences, granted we didn't really get that due to lack of FeMC and a few minor things that were cut or altered.

Had that game didn't breakout as one successful games, there will never be persona 5. Persona 3 has huge responsibility to be successful so that the franchise doesn't go bankrupt. Atlus was literally going to go bankrupt if persona 3 was a failure. With that being said, P1 and 2 was likely a failure and not many people care enough that it almost cost the company bankrupt. If Atlus wanted to make a remake for those games, it would have happened long ago. There's just no value in doing now.

Personally i find persona 4 golden to be very easy to go back to. I don't think a remake is necessary per se considering the game doesn't feel dated at all with the exception of maybe the graphics and lacking some QoL features. I would definitely enjoy playing a remake but its not something I'd be losing sleep over. Persona 3 was definitely more in need of a remake considering it was definitely a bit more tedious to go back to (without even having a version people could call definitive).

Persona 4 is like Resident Evil 4 when it comes to discussing a remake. RE4 was also a game many felt didn't need a remake, but thought would be cool to see in a new coat of paint, and we eventually got the RE4 Remake, and it turned out amazing. Persona 4 is kind of the same thing. It's inevitable we'll get it since it's the only Persona game not in the modern style that Atlus actually cares about (Sorry P1 and 2). I personally would love to see one and see all the improvements made, especially since it'd be after Persona 6 and probably cross-gen with PS5 and PS6, so there'd be even more improvements from the original compared to P3 Reload from its original. I also think it's more likely they'll make the P4 Remake the definitive P4 experience with the Golden content remade, since unlike P3 there is a definitive version already with P4 Golden.

It is unfeasible to remake Persona 1 and 2 along the lines of the other three subsequent Personas. They would be more similar to the SMT games than the Persona games themselves, as I don't see how to put calendar mechanics or social links into these games without drastically changing the story. I wouldn't be against a remake of the first two games, but I would much prefer a remake of Persona 4.

If I'm honest, I want ATLUS to do crazy things, not necessarily Theurgy but I would like it to somehow improve dual attacks. Throughout my first run I always had team Yukiko + Yosuke + Chie and it seemed to me that there was room for improvement in dual attacks. Also, P4 in itself is not difficult, the problem is the same that P3 used to have, which was that you always went underlevel against the bosses, the amount of experience you received was very small in normal mode and you had to grind a lot. In my second run, whenever I was at the boss's door, I changed the amount of experience I received to the largest until I was 2 or 3 levels below the bosses and I genuinely saved myself several hours of grinding.

Royal's only 'complicated' fight is Okumura and it's because up to that point people don't even use debuffs in fights. I never played the original Persona 3 but the idea of ​​not being able to control the team members seems to me to increase the difficulty of the game unnecessarily if the AI ​​is poor (and according to what I have read at least with certain team members it was) I can beat Nyx without using Theurgy, it was an addition that sped things up, but as I said if in the final battle I had to rely on an AI on my allies it would have been a nightmare. I never played the original P4 either, but the bosses in P4 have a simple combat structure and raising the difficulty only makes them have more life and you deal less damage, which makes them damage sponges. The only bosses I had problems with were: - Teddie and Adachi because I was like 10 levels below each of them and it was no coincidence that after going and grinding to be only 2 levels below and with almost the same Personas I could face them since my allies healed more or had X skill which did more damage than the old one (Agi vs Agiao). - Nanako's palace because Chie loves to deal critical damage when the boss controls her, The best way to win this fight is to have only 1 ally alive at the time, and finish it off between you and your ally - The only complicated bosses are Marie and Izanami, due to the mechanics of these The biggest problem with P4 is that if you don't play with increased experience you have to grind a lot to be 2 or 3 levels below the boss.

As someone playing through Persona 4 golden who has 100%ed P3R and P5R atm my biggest issues are the lack of features introduced in p5 such as shifting and the ability to see shadows' weaknesses when hovering over them, rather than using the 'analyze' button each time. other than that, I have no complaints. I would like the P3R rewind system but it's not something necessary to introduce, just more of a nice to have than an annoyance like my other issues. Edit: Just went back into the game, I would also like kanji's dungeon music changed because it gives me a headache, I somehow blocked that out while writing this.

List of things that I wish had a change that are not obvious (such as improved graphics and voice in most of the dialogues): - Improve the palaces, as MintJoy said, make them more interactive than having to look for the right door - Obvious improvements to combat (Baton Pass, being able to switch between several people if you don't use their abilities, Instead of creating Theurgy you can improve the dual attack system so that it does more damage throughout the game and it changes). - Spend time with your roommates at night, in the same way that you can do in P3R in the bedroom you could spend time with your roommates (for the love of God, it's a town and I don't think it's strange that you can go fishing with Yosuke or Kanji at night) - Add a way to increase skills faster at night, it can be with new activities that greatly improve certain skills. - Rewind - Make it easier to gain experience perhaps with an oracle like in P5 p P3R (but this time don't place it inside a building), one of the worst things in P4 is grinding in Rise Palace to Grind again Nanako Palace, To grind again with adachi... Wildest changes: - Allow you to Max out the fox without spending all the afternoon - Move a couple more confidants to the night, usually if you know what you are doing you have plenty of nights while the days are horribly busy. - Speeds up the acquisition of Naoto, one of my favorite aspects of P3R is that the team is complete very early in the game (unlike P5 where we can only enjoy Sumi at the end of the game) - In the same way that they made Yukari less of a bitch in P3R (now she's my favorite girl), they could make Rise less thirsty (Rise I love you and you were my first romance in P4 (in my second Run it was Chie) but for For the love of God, if you see that your SS is over and I'm not dating you, don't chase me)

It also makes battles 1000000x less annoying, I don't have to give up a once more to try and get to a party member with the element I want just for the shadow which isn't weak to that party member to stand up which means that I have to give up another once more to stun the other shadow, just for the one I just stunned to IMMEDIATELY get back up!!!!! I've had this happen like a hundred times!! I'm only on Rise's dungeon!! So if you don't like shifting JUST DON'T USE IT!! There are things called challenge runs you know?? You can try beating the game with just the protagonist if you really want a challenge without shifting!!

@@blockyround2160 Reminds me of people who complained that Theurgy had been added to P3R The first theurgy is not as broken and has more area damage, and when you have the second ones that are broken, you should already have access to those skills since you are finishing the game. Theurgy ensures that the joker phenomenon does not occur (that Joker is the only one who deals damage and all his teammates support him), and that Akihiko, Mitsuru, and Junpei can do a good amount damage.

My first persona game was royal then I moved to golden, I didn’t like the big jump however I got used to it and ended up loving the old style. The game has old sound effects, old graphics and hard gameplay (royal baby feeds you unlike golden). I don't mind whether they will remake it or not. But if they will, I hope they don't change the animated cutscenes into a rendered one like P3R cus it will just change the vibe imo. Also, the original en dub cast is perfect. Changing it is doable, but it's almost impossible to make it as good as the golden one since the cast is stacked. If the game does get a remake, I hope they don't change the voice actors. I know they already did that (somewhat) when P4 got its updated re-release with P4G. And even then, though only changed a few. I know a lot of people disliked the VA changes in P3R, so I hope they keep the existing VAs.

I'd be happy just with the original version of P4G but one thing I would want from a potential remake is trying to mix the campy events with the pacing of the mystery. Sometimes the elements aren't paced well and it kinda threw me off at times. Loved the game otherwise tho. Also P1 and P2 need it more like everyone is saying lol.

I wasn't in favor for a Persona 3 remake before, but after playing (and still playing), I kinda love it. Maybe I'm just too much of a fanboy, but i wouldn't mind a 4 remake. My only real problem is the price, god Atlus games are expensive.

I don't care whether if P4G gets a remake or if Atlus just updates P4G, but I do want to see changes in these parts: 1. How Social Links (SLs) work, which is honestly BS due to the fact that there are 15 DAY SLs to max as compared to only 4 NIGHT SLs (obviously excluding Automatic SLs like Teddie & also Adachi, where some events happen during the day and some at night). I mean, I'm almost finished NG+ with Max Social Stats & even maxing out all the day SLs is BARELY DOABLE (even with the extra days in Golden). I believe some of them should be doable at night as well, most notably Naoto (who is basically like Haru in P5, coming so late to the game), and also Naoki, who's SL events could theoretically happen in the evening as well. Dojima & Nanako should be just 1 SL (they're basically inseparable, so separate SLs make NO SENSE), or give their SLs to different characters (like I propose Aika Nakamura for Hierophant & Namatame for Justice) & make their SL events mandatory game events instead. Another change is specifically for dates at Summer Festival & Christmas Eve, as for Summer festival, where the issue is that specifically Chie, Yukiko & Ai are NOT available even though I got them at Rank 4/5, while Rise is available at Rank 1, so I believe that their rank requirements should be lowered. For Christmas Eve dates, the fact that I have to finish Adachi & Ameno Sagiri by 12/22 in order to HAVE them in my opinion is just BAD game design, like they should be available as long as I finish the True culprit. 1 more is that if any SLs involve other SL characters (like Marie Rank 1-8) should also give SL points for the SL characters that appear (provided u choose the right dialogue option) 2. For exploration in the TV world, the #1 things that needs to change are those annoying AF Golden Hands (seriously they're just King A-Holes!). They should wait 3 turns before escaping (NOT when they get a 1 More or after using Masukaja), also there should be BETTER ways of catching them, like a command (like Triangle for PS4) to home in on them and avoid opening a nearby Chest which could have a Shadow in them (also cuz ur limited by how long Yu Narukami takes to throw his sword down and pick it up, in which the Golden Hand could already disappear by the time u got him to hit the hands, which is BS). Another thing that should be changed is how Melee attack damage works, cuz how it works in P4G is that the max damage by weapons inflicted increases as u level up, meaning that early in the game, ur Melee damage is basically NERFED (even if u equip ur guys with 300+ Damage weapons like I did in NG+). I mean NOT even P3P does this, as I experimented with Junpei & Yukari dealing serious damage with weapons early on (even more than their Personas when under-leveled) when equipped with high level weapons in NG+. 3. Cash dropping in P4G is GARBAGE (even more so if playing on Very Hard/Risky), and the fact that Shuffle time can sometimes lose ALL cash & XP obtained is just BS game design, even Tartarus in P3P is more lucrative than all P4 dungeons (excluding Marie's dungeon) combined even WITHOUT the Golden Hands (which also exists in P3P, but could largely be ignored until when fulfilling Elizabeth/Theodore's requests) with random cash found in suitcases (which should be put in P4G in my opinion). If possible, make Golden Hands drop LUDICROUS amounts of cash (like 250k-500k Yen per hand) on Hard/Very Hard to compensate for cr@ppy cash dropping in the game. Like I have played all revisitable dungeons on Normal difficulty, and end up with about 1.5 million Yen, which ONLY lasts until Rise's dungeon in NG+ (also summoning high level Personas like Yoshitsune costs 100k Yen), which brings me to the next point. 4. NG+ benefits in P4G are the WORST in the Persona series. Starting from the fact that u CANNOT bring weapons, gear, items & accessories over (thus having to buy them at Daidara and the shop or farm the Reaper). At least P3P's Maniac difficulty tells u in advance that nothing's carried over, unlike P4G. So yeah, I believe the NG+ mechanics should be a major fix to make it better. 5. As a bonus, make Junes a place u can actually go shopping (NOT just to gather everyone), and even work part-time at. When working part-time at Junes, u can randomly meet a SL character to gain SL points to rank up SLs faster (just like with the convenience shop & florist in P5R)

I think it'd be awesome as a ui change for reach out to the truth to have a different instrument covering it when you get into different party members skill menus. I think I'd keep the instrument the same as in persona 4 dancing but it'd add some unique flair. Basically reach out to the truth would be sounding normal but when the persona is summonned from the menu the instrument associated with them will start playing, for example when Yu summons Izanagi (any pther persona too) Reach Out to the Truth will get covered by a guitar. I was thinking they could go the extra mile and maybe cover resch out to the truth with the instruments associated with the members of your party. Another cool detail imo would be if ghe music for the dungeons changed depending on your level, I don't think I'd want the song to be completely different, but maybe a remix if you're way overleveled. Im sure persons 4's menu is going to br crazy brcause persona 4 was already one of the nore aesticslly pleasing games even before the inevitable ui revamp, and I know the yellow silhouettes will be popping off too. I'm looking forward to the results theme innaparticulae, I still think it was the best one in the series it sounds so triumphant. I'm really interested in programming and I used to ( s3fill am but I mostly program different things) but I really pay attetion to UI design and small details in general. Edit: will fix grammar later but its a struggle now because mobile I think they could make the shadow world have a crt effect too and ehen you leave everything is normal for visual flair. I sefinetly want their to be clean all out attack animations (as expected) but I think they could use some tv effects too posibly tonadd extra flair to the attacks. Maybe they could use a filter to make some of the sounds lower quality to add to the aesthetic. I think similar to persona 5's gun special they should make stylize splash tedt appear, but we could potentially style it better. Genuinely hope the menu is as flashy ss possible maybe rven the buttons could have animations for example maybe all oht attsck isn't a thing thst interrupts the battle bht rather a animated flsshing button you hit in the menu to trigger it, adding a bit of aesthetic and getting rid of that cialog bix before. The persona 4 equivalent of therugy could be activated with a really flashy button, too. They could even do a play woth advertisemrnts sense we're in hummanities shared conscience we could have random ads that flash representing maybe the dungeon owners thoughts and stuff, or maybe durring strong attacks we could get them and cut back to the fight killing the enemy or finishing the all out attack. I think theyvahould be relativdly esre to increase that fesr fsctor but I think making them really realistic could add into the horror aspect kf thr gsme more, maybe we could even have the characters scknoeledge it like "what was that?" If we wanted to go the extrs mile we could make it so when Yu watches the midnight channel he could recieve ads and stuff occasionally represent the thoughts of the person he's watching to get extra spooky (mahbe Nanako would get a Junes ad).

I agree to an extent that the dungeons could be expanded in some way however i think we had a convo about this actually lol for me p4's dungeon crawling is alot more combat focused and more of a fight to the boss i dont mind the idea of puzzles to get to extra chests maybe but p4 being remade this way would similarly to reload just be p4 in the image of p5 and for replayability and for the way how the tv world is explained amongst the anime and games is that even with the glasses the surroundings are still unclear so yes i do agree that the ideas of extra content regarding roomers about yukiko perhaps extra encounters with her in the castle where it explores topics such as the Amagi challenge, the amagai inn there is untapped potential in character exposition in these dungeons as the tv world is a manifestation of the collective unconsious im not fully sure on puzzles and each floor being pre determined would help this, i think a potential remake for p4 should take aspects from the manga 2 anime adaptations dancing and arena into consideration hint at narkami coming back to inaba within the epilouge, have characters social links introduced like how they were in the anime or have subsegments where we see diolouge between characters for example rather than being called out from class on a random day to help the health class have the protag meet naoki at the campout however keep him as a background character until that point than the campout doesn't feel like an anime filler episode other than that i think that a p4 remake would be cool but i hope that they dont make it a reskinned p5 with p4's story like reload

We do NOT need a p4g remake. I feel like p4g is perfect as it is. I've 100% p4g just to prove I am NOT a hater of p4. Its already 3D, has smooth cutscenes, etc... I literally dont see any problems with the game except at most the annoying fighting mechanism and sometime terrible camera angles. Sure P4 UI isnt as cool, but if you're playing just because UI looks cool then idk what to say to you man, i personally enjoy P4 as it is. Since the game is already 3D, at most a remake would just make it more touched up in textures. Its literally a perfect game as it is despite the fighting and camera movements. If Atlus makes a remake they are just milking their franchise like they have been for p5, if you want "better textures" you might as well just get mods or something.

Well, personally I think NG+ and the Golden Hands needs some improvements, with how they work in the game. NG+ should allow us to carry weapons over, Golden Hands need to wait at least 3 turns before escaping and if they're down and you're nearby, there should be a command (like triangle on PS4) to home in on them.

The problem with opening this can of worms is that we'll also inevitably get questions like: "But what about Persona 1, and Persona 2? Those need modern remasters as well." Which could put pressure on Atlus to be thinking backwards rather than forwards. Not to say I wouldn't purchase and enjoy those remade games, but If it comes at the cost of a brand new title, I think I'd rather hold off.

As someone who had somewhat interest in the persona series, but didn't give it a chance due to its graphics, and when the news of persona 3 reload hiting the shelves, I grabbed a copy from steam to check it out and my god it was so good, just 2 days later I purchased persona 5 royal and have been hooked since, As a fan of the new gen graphics I hope as a new audience to the persona series a Persona 4 Remake, similar to 3 reload will help garner in new fans, as I have been holding off to play 4 due to the Slytherin hope that a remake will drop, so in my personal opinion a Persona 4 Remake will help in getting more audience

Honestly if they did remake P4 the only 2 things i would really want changed are adding baton pass/shift (maybe even curse and bless skills that do damage too) and for them to actually design the dungeons. I dont hate randomly generated dungeons but it just kinda feels wierd in p4. Tarturus is more open and i dont mind it, but p4 is just pretty much straight hallways. My favorite parts of the p4 dungeons are the floors that actually are consistent and have a gimmick or puzzle.

I would much prefer a P2 remake first, then one for P1. Tbh it's hard to justify a P4 remake right now. P4 Golden does not feel as dated compared to how P3 was. It would be nice but not a priority. I would actually genuinely be a bit angry if they said they chose to do a P4 remake first before P2 because I feel that it's unneeded. Honestly as a die hard persona 4 fan I was originally against a persona 4 remake just because i feel p4g is a perfectly aged game 5 may have been my 1st game, but 4 is just extremely special and is something i want to be done right A remake im a lil more open to after seeing how well 3 is doing(plus i just want 4 to be relevant again) I pretty much agree with all your points however i feel they would only remake the original p4 and leave the marie arc as a seperate dlc campaign of sorts I wouldnt want that UI to change at all aside from just making it more vibrant and bringing back some of the cut content such as the yosuke romance arc would be great!!

I doubt that Atlus wants to risk making a remake of P1 or P2 above P4 since P4 will easily sell 2 times more than the other two. At the moment I doubt that P4 Remake will come out before P6 since at the end of the day P3R was the test to see if a remake could sell well and after seeing how well P3R sold they will surely have already made the decision to start the development of Persona 4 while the development of P6 should already be halfway done.

Quero muito que P4 remake seja um jogo onde a Atlus consiga expressar seu estilo artístico como fizeram com P5. A vibe dos anos 80 é algo que me agrada muito, até demais, porém, acredito eu, que por conta da limitação dos playstation 2 tiveram que cortar muitos elementos que poderiam estar presentes, tanto pra completar como pra adicionar, principalmente dentro das masmorras, digo isso porque a maior parte das vezes em que eu me via bocejando era justamente quando eu estava no progresso de explorar as masmorras e é por isso que eu concordo muitíssimo com o que foi dito no vídeo, sobre como poderia funcionar esse novo sistema pra lá. Infelizmente não tenho muito a opinar porque, além de ser péssimo na escrita, sou um jogador novato da franquia que ainda está experienciando o jogo, tenho um pouco mais de 40 horas jogadas, estou me divertindo bastante, está sendo incrível acompanhar toda a trama da história e o gameplay é encanador, só fico um pouco triste porque não há uma tradução oficial para o português brasileiro então eu tive que recorrer a uma tradução feita pela comunidade o que claramente distorce algumas falas dos personagens, o que pode acabar afetando um pouco na personalidade deles, mas acredito que com o remake isso pode mudar, P3 reload fez bonito e trouxe uma tradução localizada pra cá, espero que essa atitude continue daqui pra frente.

I don’t think the game needs a remake. I love p3r but I think p3 and p4 loose a lot upon being remade. Both of the games imo gain a lot as they age. The ps2 graphics make the games feel very nostalgic which adds to the mood of p3 and p4.
