I’m happy to report that we finalized a deal today for a 2.5 S Preferred in Soul Re Crystal Metallic exterior with Parchment interior. The MSRP was $31,460 and we got it for $29,960! $1,500 off sticker is pretty good I think. And we get 2.9% for 36 months. Amazing vehicle for under $30k. Wife is thrilled for her new ride. I cannot thank you enough for all of the content you provide, it really helped me make a decision on the best trim line for us. Looking forward to many years of service from the CX-5! We pick it up Tuesday afternoon. Its our first ever Mazda. I have always been a Ford guy and my wife a Honda gal. We did not care for their offerings in the segment and we were fortunate enough to have read and watched several rave reviews of the CX-5.

Just got my 2022 CX-5 sport design in machine grey. Loving it, and it came with all features. Only thing I might complain about is the rear view camera. My 2019 Mazda 3 sport had the active target lines and and different views. A bit surprised Mazda didn’t update the camera for the 2022 CX 5. Nothing I would lose sleep over. If the trim was offered in sonic silver I would have gone for that color. But machine grey is cool as well.

Great breakdown. May i ask, Jonatan. Does it mean you can get the non turbo on each of the trim levels for the Mazda cx5 for 2022/23?

The 2022/23 non turbo models in USA were 2.5 S, Select, Preferred, Carbon Edition, Premium, and Premium Plus. Turbo only were Turbo models and Signature.

So it means all the trim levels have both engines available. ie turbo and non turbo. Only the signature comes with only the turbo engine?

Yes, they caught up with chips/modules and returned to putting power liftgates on the Preferred. Still no Bose though in 2023.

All trims should have heated mirrors. I was disappointed that they weren't included with the carbon edition.

@@JSS thanks, but there’s one thing important about this skyactivG engine, is that the cylinders deactivation costs this car only average 13mpg when city drive with a/c music CarPlay and ventilated seat driver side on, which is worse than f-150

The CX-5 is the top selling Mazda by a wide margin. It's not going anywhere until another model outsells it by a wide margin. That's not going to happen for quite some time. It'll probably get a major refresh in 2024/25 just because it's due.

@@cusebike5391 I agree. Cx-50 and Cx-5 are not the same type of vehicles. Cx-5 is a pretty new platform (8-9 years old) and very popular. With that said, it is time to refresh the body style

Thanks for another informative video Jonathan! Quick questions: It was mentioned/shown that the Turbo model is available with black or parchment interior. I thought they had dropped the parchment at this level (was available on the previous GTR trim) when they changed it to Turbo trim in '22. Think only choice on Turbo is black with red stitching? Also, doesn't the Turbo have the black headliner too? It was only mentioned/shown on the Signature.

They have shown Black and Parchment interior as optional on the Turbo, but I’ve only seen vehicles with the black. The Black headliner is only available on Signature.

Which year? I can't remember when it became standard exactly, but I know all 2021's and newer have it standard. I would check with a charging cable to see if it connects

Is the non turbo version strong enough to get on an interstate at the speed limit? I mean,. like not getting on at about 45 or 50 and taking a while to get to 65. I don't need any getting to 60mph from a dead stop.

If I can get onto the 70 mph Texas highways with 106hp 2016 scion iA (mazda 2) with a 0-60 of 9.1 seconds you will be fine in the 8~ seconds it takes the naturally aspirated cx5

The preferred and carbon trims don't really add that much. More appearance than anything.

I pulled mine off the lot on January 7th with 17 miles on the odometer. I went with the Signature in Machine Gray. It's hands down the best car I've ever owned! It was gorgeous already but it's about to be super slick as I am about to have the black rims, black lugs and lug locks put on it and will also have the front windows tinted to match the back windows. I feel extremely blessed. 😍

If you thought I used the word, blessed, as a way to avoid using some other word, like lucky, you are sorely mistaken. Not that I need to explain myself to a stranger but I did indeed choose the word blessed on purpose because I know the difficulties I have faced in life. So yes, I am blessed. Again, I don't need to explain anything to anyone but my higher power has been my guiding force and if I hadn't let the workings of my higher power in to my heart and my life, then I wouldn't be in a position to pay for my car. I’m sure you can do that. It will cost a lot more than $160 🥴 The chip module is going to be the hard part though. Unless you buy a used one.
