Great video Marc, of all the shop organization videos I've watched over the years, it seems one statement from Adam Savage's channel liberated me from constantly stressing if I had everything in the right place...and it fits right in with your message here: "Shop infrastructure and/or organization is a PROCESS, NOT a project."

My workspace is so disorganized, I shake my head in anger at myself. It's overwhelming and kinda paralyzing to be honest. I just need to take it one section at a time. Now that it's cooler outside I need to make it a priority for sure. This gives me a bit of motivation. Thanks Marc.

If your shop is organized, you know what is out of place and what to yell at kids and employees over. "Being 4 is no excuse for putting a putty knife in the hammer drawer, no dinner for a week."

Great info, Marc~! I've been struggling with getting my space organized since building my pole barn shop (30'x40) in 2016. I try to draw inspiration from the numerous KZbinrs that I follow & other Internet woodworkers for solutions and I suffer from a raging case of "paralysis by analysis" from soooo many good ideas. Anyway, I've been with you since your beginnings and love everything you put out. Thanks for this one and I'll continue fighting the good fight of organization~! 😬

Great video. I am done with all my holiday jobs that I have to for events or clients. So…. It’s time to get the shop organized. I’ve been putting it off. My husband is the type to organize a space and then never change anything about it. His home office is a great example. When we moved into this house 5 years ago he set it up and hasn’t changed anything. I on the other hand…. Have had multiple layouts for my shop. But to be fair… His office hasn’t received any new things. I have expanded my shop by adding new tools and upgrading tools. It’s time to reorganize and be more intentional. I am blessed to have a 32x35 shop. I only have done a good job in two areas. I built a drill charging station that has storage and a drill press cart. Those two areas are the only places I’ve done great with storage. Time to get organizing.

Nice pacing, Marc. You showed us a bunch of great storage ideas in quick succession. I think you could have thrown in the video equipment too. Watching you for so many years, some of us are interested in how you make such high quality content.

Thanks Marc! I think I have been experiencing a bit of that burn out that you described in your last podcast. I don't really have anything to build that anyone wants but now I'm thinking about redoing my shop. Thanks for the inspiration!

You’ve moved shops several times and each time come up with a fresh take on the new shop organization since it’s obviously a new space. One thing I struggle with in my shop is moving things to a new, better location, but then not being able to find things later because it was “over there” for 5+ years.

Well he can either do that or buy one of Grizzly tools overpriced ones. But a husky with the wheels off might work too. The orange store has one of its house brand rolling cabnit's marked down now they sell Milwaukie the Husky stuff is close out about as cheap or cheaper then Harbor Fright and as good a quality. The metal is kinda thin on the craftsmen now its not made in waterloo. But Springfield mo now. With the amount of hardwoods in mo I'm surprised he hasn't bought a sawmill and did his own rough cut lumber from free tree take downs. Just have a tree service drop off the timber. Better to use the wood then chop it up as firewood.

My shop is hyper OCD level organized. It's to the degree where I can direct someone to find exactly what they are looking for on a phone call. Just name it, and I can find it in my shop with my eyes closed.... literally. I am legally blind and so that might explain it.
