I cannot overstate how great it feels to finally have a competent front office. BH and MCDC built from the trenches out. Kept OGs like Decker and Ragnow, resigned our best players and never spent crazy in FA. Goff has changed my mind 100%, I had no faith but he's helped bring us out of the shadow realm. Lions proved they can hang with and beat the best. Most importantly, they're doing things RIGHT! I'm more excited for our division man. Packers gotta feel great and hope to build from last year. Chicago gets a fresh start with weapons. The Vikings get a new QB from the great University of Michigan! What a time to be alive.

Ironically, the Lions remind me of the 2021 Rams as it def feels like this is the "year" Hopefully they stay healthy on offense and the defense improves. My biggest concern is when Ben Johnson inevitably leaves. It was a huge break for Detroit he decided to stick around so this offensive unit can run it back.

If Campbell settles down on the high risk 'going for it all' decisions and trusts his defense and team to get the job done, the Lions deserve a Superbowl win. It's a shame that the NFL will throw its weight behind Mahomes and continue to protect him at all costs in order to give him what he wants.

Idk man, are you forgetting about James Houston? Davenport may or may not stay healthy but if he is splitting snaps with the dude who had 8 sacks in 7 games the year before last (out for injury last year) plus some other depth pieces like Betts, and Paschal. I think Reader unlocks a lot for that pass rush. I dont think that spot is as barren as people think.

JaMo is my x-factor. It's been a rocky start, largely due to a college injury and making a stupid off-field decision. His speed is Elite+. If he can put it together, I don't know how defenses are going to stop that offense. And while the defense is objectively better, it should be noted that Aaron Glenn is a great coordinator, and he did quite well even with the personnel deficits he had. Uprades all up and down the defense. One key thing that will make it even more difficult this season is that the division quietly got really good. And as a Michigan alum, it KILLS me that I have to root against JJ.

Definitely a prove it year. The improvement was evident last year, and his hands became less of a liability as well. With Reynolds gone, and no real replacement, Jamo will be asked to do more, and I think if he stays healthy, 800 yards and a good handful of TDs is a good expectation if we are expecting 1500-1600 from Amon Ra and 1000 from LaPorta.

I've gotten a lot of flack the past few seasons from other Vikings fans when I told them the Lions were going to be the team to beat. They thought the 9-8 was a fluke. The lions are good, but the division is getting competitive let alone the NFC as a whole. I’m not even sure they make it to the playoffs if the bears make a resurgence with their new additions, but that IS a big “if.” Calling a 12-5 season, maybe one post-season win.

It’s gonna be a tall order regardless but I too think they can get it done. If anything, their toughened schedule will set the standard for their rookies and young guys. You mentioned that the NFCN will improve and I think so too, with the Packers young core, the Bears getting a generational QB prospect along with a top-three receiver, and the Vikings with QB JJ and keeping WR JJ. The Niners will be difficult but they are aging like you said, but let’s not count out the other NCFW teams the Lions will encounter: Seattle is always hard to deal with, the Rams look really good with Stafford, Nacua, and co along with their defense which needed to evolve through the draft, and Kyler now gets to throw to MHJ in Arizona, which is undergoing its own culture change. The Buccs will also be difficult but the Lions can handle it, and having the Cowboys on the regular season schedule again is just asking for revenge. Other elite QB’s will feature in the Lions schedule, with the likes of Allen and Stroud facing them. However, this toughening of the schedule will only make the Lions, especially their young guys, more battle-tested come playoff time, and that might pay off for them when facing off against experienced playoff teams, especially when they face somebody like the hard-hitting Ravens, the rejuvenated Bengals, or, as it has a great chance of happening, the dynastic Chiefs. As a big panthers fan myself we need a cat team to win, and it will be such a story if a team that was so down-trodden on for so long comes out on top: it’s what the country needs in such a tense era like this. A Lions Lombardi will heal America.

I think decker walks or retires going into 25. Sewell moves to the left side and hopefully manu can maul at right tackle. Christian mahogany in the 6th round feels like a MCDC guy and could develop into a starting interior lineman too from this class.
