The Development of Anxiety Disorders

In this video from a recent Beck Institute Workshop, Dr. Aaron Beck discusses “nature versus nurture” in families with a history of anxiety disorders. Dr. Beck explains his belief that anxious genes do exists and that parental attitudes and relevant life experiences, both positive and negative, can influence whether these genes are expressed and contribute to the development of anxiety.
