8:25 that is IK foot placement this basically does is then the player is standing in a slope , aim IK to the ankle so that it's aligned to the ground. many AAA companies use this in there video game to make the body placement of player more realistic.
@Your_LocalWizard6 ай бұрын
To elaborate on your comment, IK stands for "inverse kinematics" and what it does is essentially reverse the priority of bone placement. So with regular kinematics the foot bone would follow the rotation of the shin bone, which would follow the thigh bone etc. but with IK however many bones you set will follow the end bone ok the IK chain

17:49 - Not quite. If you read the text immediately before this part of the instruction manual, you'll see Sonic wasn't transformed by Dark Gaia's energy. It was actually exposure to the negative energy of the Chaos Emeralds that transformed him. Because it has mastery over all forms of dark energy, Dark Gaia was able to steal this negative energy from Sonic to accelerate its own maturation into Perfect Dark Gaia.

3:45 Actually, this is a common misconception. Dimps didn't *fully* develop Sonic Unleashed's Wii/PS2 version, they were only involved with creating the level design for the daytime stages in that version, while the vast majority of development was handled by Sonic Team (and apparently some other internal SEGA studios).

11:08 Hello from the guy who first discovered that renderer in the PC verison of Sonic Generations, and made it available for the Generations Unleashed Project mod. There's nothing "uncompleted" about it. It's the original Unleashed renderer, which was replaced in Generations with another one, most likely for the support of stereoscopic 3D. 3D TVs were a brief fad between 2010 and 2013, perhaps spurred by the success of Cameron's 2009 Avatar film. Not surprising that stereo 3D was a big feature point for 2011's Sonic Generation. 22:46 No, one is not based on the other. The audio samples used by both are from a track called "Chords 3" on the 1999 sample CD "SoundScan 16: Bossa Brazil". People sometimes bring up a track called "Playing Hard to Get" by Blue Cat, which can easily be found on KZbin. But that is not the original source, it simply uses the same samples from SoundScan Vol. 16. 15:50 No, "werehog" is not a misnomer! People who bring that up have no clue how languages work. Languages and the meanings of their words change all the time. Just take the word "clue" I just used. Originally it meant "ball of thread or yarn". Also, the English word "hedgehog" is a compound word already, so if you think that "werehog" means "half man, half pig", then you surely must also think that "hedgehog" means he's "half bush, half pig"? :P I could go on about how Sonic has always been a "werehog" in that sense anyway, being an anthropomorphic (literally "man-shaped") character, but let's just end it and say that Sonic Team's usage of "werehog" makes perfect sense. There's precedence for it (it was used before, they didn't invent it), and even if you've never heard the word before, you can easily guess its intended meaning. If it gets the idea across, it's a good word - language is for communication, after all. Anyway, nice work, I've enjoyed your videos on Unleashed!

3:46 Unleashed on Wii/PS2 weren't actually developed by Dimps, they were developed by SonicTeam, since when you boot up the game, after shows the Sega screen, it shows the SonicTeam logo and if you look in the credits, you'll see that the game was created by SonicTeam and never shows Dimps at all, the only member from Dimps that was involved heavily in Wii unleashed was the lead level designer of the day stages Masaaki Yamagiwa, the same thing applies with the handheld games being developed by SonicTeam, not just the Dimps members
@TheBytegeist6 ай бұрын
Yes, Unleashed Wii/PS2 was developed mainly by Sonic Team, but Dimps did contribute. Yamagiwa is not the only person affiliated with Dimps and credited in Unleashed Wii. There's also Yuka Kobayashi, for example, and certainly others. Wikipedia cites two sources: "Sonic Team is managing the Wii development, but the coding and some of the design is being handled by some of our external partners in Japan. Fans of Sonic Rush and Sonic Rush Adventure will be pleased to hear that Dimps is involved in designing the Wii stages!" - Patrick Riley, producer at Sega of America, in an interview with Play Magazine "Although Sonic Team is solely responsible for the PS3 and 360 versions of the title, software house Dimps is providing backup support with daytime level designs for the Wii and PS2 versions." - IGN article "Eyes-on Sonic Unleashed"
@Santy78936 ай бұрын
Oh okay, I was almost certain that SonicTeam was also responsible for the secondary unleashed since I did search up some of the other names of the credits for the people who worked on the level design though I forgot the results I had, I did know that the Dimps members did work on the other games such as advance all the way to the rush games, just that a lot of people claim them as them being the only people to work on the games when SonicTeam were still heavily involved in those projects

Because that would be incorrect. There are many, many sample packs/libraries that contain all sorts of audio samples for music creators to use. Both "Blue Cat" and Ohtani simply happened to use the same source: a 1999 sample CD called "SoundScan 16: Bossa Brazil". So, "Playing hard to get" is NOT the original.
