I think it'd be fine if Unleashed was just its own remaster without needing some additional campaign or story segment of another character to go with it. Generations was simple and compact so it was reasonable for them to make a Shadow version to mirror the original with its structure. Unleashed though is massive for a Sonic game and it'd be a lot of work to really mirror any of that with an additional campaign. If they did that I personally would expect hub world, beefy levels, another stellar OST, etc to still capture the vibes of Unleashed and at that point they're basically just making Unleashed 2. Besides, if they always just add in additional campaigns for future remasters, it'd kind of take away a little bit of the specialty of Shadow Gens IMO. However, if they REALLY have to still do something, I say let's get a Blaze campaign in there!!! Maybe Dark Gaia's awakening causes funkiness in her dimension and she has to do some stuff with the Sol Emeralds to get her side back in order. It'd also be really fitting since the boost mechanic was introduced with her debut, and she hasn't been able to be played with modern boost gameplay at all. It'd be so fitting to let her be playable in the game that defined modern boost gameplay. They did wonders with Shadow in his new game, I say let Blaze get a shot next!

That was like my 3rd option, because it would be a good reference to Rush. You are right, it was already a massive feat creating Unleashed, going further as to replicate it's gameplay with new levels is a feat beyond that. Then again I wasn't walking in with the expectation they would give shadow generations a whole 3d hub world, but they accomplished that, and hey that might mean we get to visit some new countries with even more bopping music. I totally wouldn't blame them if they just reused the already present levels though, making Unleashed accessible on PC (through regular means) would be gift enough. Here's an idea how about they use both Knuckles and Blaze, with Knuckles playing like werehog Sonic and Blaze playing like daytime Sonic, so they don't have to cut corners.

Unleashed is not just my favorite game in the Sonic series, but my favorite game like. Ever. I already know that this game is somewhere on Sonic Team's list. I actually like the Werehog, it's kind of a fun little ol' beat-em-up. People really liked to hate on it back in the day because it wasn't standard Sonic, but I think people have learned to appreciate it more. Fun fact, I actually started out with the SD version, and it's basically a whole different game. I actually don't mind the medal system in the HD version though (Yes, they're collected automatically in SD). It adds a fun little twist to your experience. And yes, Chip is good. I don't care that they changed VA's basically right after this game came out, I need it now. I don't care that this game doesn't have many of Sonic's friends, I don't care that it had very negative reception back in the day, I need it, and I know others feel the same as me. I know people are much more positive about this game now, and I'm all for that. I don't really care about Heroes, or anything else for that matter. This needs to be the next remaster on their list.

I would say Knuckles was back in Angel Island guarding the Master Emerald from Dark Gaia's Minions offscreen (as an excuse for him not being in the story), but it would be dope to see a Knuckles story in Unleashed

Sonic Unleashed was my first owned sonic game and is still my favorite to this day though I had the ps2 version which had cut content I re bought it again on ps3 and had a blast super slept on and definitely underrated

If we do get a sonic unleashed remaster, I hope they keep all the original voice acting in and if the Do a Twitter takeover for a hypothetical sonic unleashed remaster I hope they ask Jason to play sonic in it I had this game since I was a kid on the PS2 also, I hope they allow you to play both of the HD and standard definitions of the game. Between Sonic Unleashed and Sonic & the Black Knight, I find myself really wanting remasters. I mean, for the latter, it feels like such a missed opportunity since Skyward Sword HD exists, and the original used a very similar concept to Black Knight with its motion controls. The fact that Skyward Sword makes its most controversial element optional in the HD remake is evidence alone that a Black Knight remaster CAN WORK. And in a similar vein, Unleashed deserves a remaster too. I will say though, I never thought about Sonic Unleashed & Knuckles being a thing, but man do I wish I had. Frankly, the fact that Archie had something somewhat similar and with how the Sega Scourge's "What if Sonic Never Lost the Werehog Form" 's most recent installment also mentioned Sonic emulating Knuckles's fighting style should have cued me in to the potential there. Knux would totally make for a perfect combo of both Sonic and the Werehog, with the addition of his glide ability too. And that kind of story? That seriously would be awesome.

It'd be cool if the Sonic and the Black Knight remaster was a remade in the style of an action RPG (Kingdom hearts comes to mind) with speed plat forming during straightways, combat arenas and combos that carry momentum and can knock enemies into each other to set them up for an air combo or a ground combo. The cg cutscene of Sonic using Caliburn is a perfect representation of how the game should have played/flowed

I agree sonic unleashed should get some love to fix up the problems with the game and give knuckles a role in the story, but i think they should give some attention to sonic heroes. The leaks were saying its a full remake so maybe there'll be some variation between stages so it's not as repetitive. I feel like remasters and remakes should be reserved for games that didnt perform as well but had really good concepts like 06 and heroes. Again tho id love to see unleashed get a modern update with a knuckles story

I feel the "Shadow Generations" model for further re-releases is an exciting one, but dicey for everyone: When it comes to the game that's being remastered we know for sure things are bound to change, whether that's the voice cast, character writing and some minor elements of the story. All of them will probably be changed to better reflect the current state of the series, and that's something that will make or break the remaster for many. Then you have the new content that's either following on previous plot points or trying to explain why x or y character took a backseat during that time, which is all right in concept. For Shadow Gens it worked to use the same formula as Frontiers, but even when all of the main 4 characters were playable there I don't know if that same style will be suitable for a solo adventure of their own. Even if it IS something they can get a new campaign to work with, we can only wonder how much the team could be able to iterate on the gameplay to a point it is satisfying but won't make the next original game feel repetitive for everyone. Then again, maybe they could use this chance to dwelve into other genres? For example, you keep the action focus of the Werehog on the Knuckles story you suggested, but instead of being a 3D brawler it's a 2D beat-em-up with light exploration elements. Maybe a full Metroidvania to capitalize on the world-trotting, possible underground adventure the setting allows for. I'd love to have games that took these characters and put them into entirely new genres, and considering they'll be "smaller" titles that try to catch your eye with an interesting premise I feel this would be a cool compromise.

Unleashed is my favorite game of all time, and I don't care what anyone says... Sonic turning into a Werewolf is so cool All I'd want in a remaster is an unlocked frame rate, upscaled textures, and a skill tree where the player can actually choose which Werehog moves they wanna unlock- kinda like Frontiers Lastly, just implement the "Foreign Input System" mod into the game, it truly elevates the Werehog's combat to the next level! For those who don't know, the mod allows the Werehog to cancel, change, and chain the Werehog's combos at any time (Highly recommend you check it out) Oh, and for those who need it... an "easy mode" with less enemies who are nerfed, alongside easier QTE's, and a decreased requirement for Sun & Moon Medals

I recently picked up an Xbox Series S mainly to play Unleashed at 60 FPS, and my goodness was it worth every damn penny. I do hope that they remaster this game for modern PlayStation users, considering it’s impossible to play it on PS4/PS5 now with Sony removing PS Now a few years back. PS players deserve to play this game at 60 FPS. It’s my favorite Sonic game as well. The story itself resonates with me to this day.

I think that a remaster of Sonic Unleashed would be a good idea and yes they should make those sun and moon medals be just for unlocking other collectable stuff instead of again being for unlocking stages. (they did that in the Wii port of Unleashed so it's not like they don't know how to do it) and an other thing that they should do to a remaster of that game is "may the difficulty of it be optional like in Frontiers" where you can go to the menu and pick through " Easy, Normal, or Hard" especially the infamous "Eggmanland" final stage. This year I've been playing an Xbox 306 physical copy of Unleashed and am currently completely stuck not knowing if I can get to the goal ring in a daytime stage that I need to get through.

I'd like to see some small changes in a remaster, have the tails levels control like panzer dragoon, the tighter sonic generations drift, removal of or consistency in the QTEs, playable super sonic in levels (no generations flight gimmick, maybe the doom wing shadow gliding gimmick) I also think it would be cool to have blaze and Shadow playable in the day stages. And maybe have rouge, knuckles, and Omega playable in the werehog stages

I’d rather want a port with 4K/60 higher res, etc. Seeing ppl want a Knuckles or Silver story expansion is so unnecessary since Unleashed is already a long game. I feel the only reason why Gens got it was because the game is short and the Sonic 3 movie promo. I’ve seen many people also wanting Sun/Moon medals gone or changed so they’re not a requirement and make the game overall easier, which I think those opinions are horrible takes. IMO games are supposed to be challenging and have replayability, especially in Sonic games with the ranking system, lives, and collectibles. Or in this case, Unleashed’s DLC levels are even more difficult. The only things I would change is controller mapping for airboosting and homing and maybe have options to add more Werehog battle music variety.

sun and moon medals are terrible. You have to collect 100+ just to play some of these levels. They are fine and great in werehog because time doesn’t matter but they shouldn’t be in daytime unless for quicktime events instead of a random pot that nobody knows about. People complain about the emerald stages in sa2 but that’s basically the same thing without a radar and 5x more medals than emeralds

I can see it now: Sonic Unleashed: Silvery Blaze It'll be a Sonic Unleashed remaster with a Silver & Blaze campaign ala Shadow Generations. Daytime stages will feature Blaze while nighttime stages will feature slower-paced puzzle platforming for Silver. Neither of them have had as much attention as Shadow, so they'd need to be bundled together.

Also the fact is that they don’t need to tweak the story. If they did then yeah they’d need to rerecord. But also I think for Unleashed they’d get Jason and the others back just for that one time. If the Heroes Remake is happening then it might be harder for them to get everybody back to rerecord (because Heroes needs it more. I’m willing to let Ian cook with a rewrite of Heroes.) especially since Deem Bristow, voice of Eggman in Heroes, sadly passed. And Tails is 30.

They definitely gotta touch up the Werehog controls and maybe add a difficulty mode to make it a bit less of a chore for other people. And dear god, have an option to disable the camera stopping to show shit. For everything else, I’d say rework the sun and moon medals, add some wearables as collectibles OR use sun and moon medals as currency for wearables, have Werehog auto collect the experience instead of having to collect it, touch up Werehog’s air control, beef up the double jump, AND GET RID OF HOTDOG MISSIONS

I think it would have been better if you could choose the highest level at the first time, and I wish the mission would end once you meet the criteria. This year I’ve picked up both a PS3 and a physical copy of Unleashed to play through, and I’m doing pretty well in terms of Trophies and S-Ranks! But the load times ARE noticeable, and especially the frame rate drops Honestly I’m far less concerned about trying to find a fancy way to give reason to give us more Unleashed, just give me this game at 60 FPS above 720p and my life is yours LOL

I think Roger should voice sonic, swap orbots white color palette to his red and black one, add cubot in aswell and give him lines, then they should get Ian Flynn to write all of the diaglouge and change it only to references even if some references are from future sonic games and it doesn’t make sense yet. They should also change the dialogue on all of the cgi cutscenes even though they can’t change the lip flaps on that because it’s too expensive and make everything they say references lol. They should also make sure to avoid plot points that was in the original game to act as if they never happened leaving it vague as to whether or not any of it actually happened and only the good parts of the old story. Also make everyone stupid in this game. Last but not least for the dlc they should make the og dlc the actual levels as the original ones weren’t hard enough, and the new dlc should be sonic unleashed x cream the rabbit and you get to play as cream and help her mom out in their day to day life and sometimes big would show up, their dialogue of course being references. Then slap a price tag of $99.99 dollars on it, delete the og versions of the game and call it the definitive version of the game that literally makes you go crazy every time you play it. Also all the textures are swapped with the Wii version of the game. Even the pre rendered cutscenes. Edit: dark gaia and his minions also get dialogue. And it’s all references.

Sonic Unleashed and Knuckles/Sonic and Knuckles World Adventure would be sweet. There would be changes to Sonic Unleashed/Sonic World Adventure: First off I think this world be welcoming, get rid of the Werehog battle music, now on the the less welcoming parts. while not perfect, Ian Flynn might have to write new dialogue. Sonic Unleashed would have to a recast, Roger Craig Smith as Sonic and Werehog, Wally Wingert as Chip, Kirk Thornton as Orbot and Prof. Pickle, Colleen O'Shaughnessey as Tails, Cindy Robinson as Amy and new lines for Mike Pollock as Eggman tor record, yes Sonic Unleashed was the last mainline Sonic game to have Jason Griffith, Amy Palant Dan Green and Lisa Ortiz in the games and they did a great job (with the exception as Amy Palant as Tails IMO,) but because of legal reason they might have to go with the current cast. Knuckles Unleashed/Knuckles World Adventure: even if Dan Green reprises his role as Knuckles for this game or Dave Mitchel is Knuckles for this game, I could care less. The Story is that Knuckles is on Angel Island guarding the Master Emerald when Dr. Eggman sends Metal Sonic to get the Master Emerald to use to power Dark Gaia, however Knuckles shatters the Master Emerald to prevent Eggman from getting it, however with the world shattered, Angel Island can still float in the sky and it's up to Knuckles to restore the Master Emerald and discover the warrior powers sleeping inside (hence why Knuckles' story is called Knuckles Unleashed to unleash his warrior powers.) Angel Island will be the main hub and it'll be like Shadow's white space where it's an Open Zone hub where each biomes on Angel Island will take you to the surface like Hydrocity will take you to Spagonia, Ice Cap will take you to Holaska where the goal is to get the Master Emerald shards, in addition on Angel Island, there are gets where Knuckles will run into to unlock new Warrior Power such as THE FLAMES OF DISASTER!!! The last Level will be Sky Sanctuary where the last Shard is and Metal Sonic now Metal Werehog is the Final Boss where Knuckles has to fight for it to restore the Master Emerald before Sonic restores the World. I feel like Knuckles would be better than Silver (I think Silver should be saved for a Sonic Lost World remaster) because Knuckles was planed for Sonic Unleashed but He was cut for no reason when He's been around since the Genesis/Mega Drive era along with Sonic, Eggman, Tails and Amy and having Knuckles and Metal Sonic would be better (Metal Sonic was kinda the main villain in Knuckles' Chaotix) and this be a tie in to Sonic Movie 4 with Metal Sonic being a threat in the Sonic Movieverse after Shadow would be nice.

Although I would love for Sonic unleashed to get a remaster, I think the next big Sonic remaster/remake is Sonic 06, although Sega has only said that they are interested in making a Sonic 06 remake I think there is a big chance that will actually happen, I know that sounds crazy but let me explain. Sega has confirmed that there will be a new character in the post credit scene of Sonic Movie 3 basically confirming that Sonic movie 4 is coming, it is very clear that Sega is never going to stop making movies, so probably a Silver movie at some point. there is especially a chance of a Silver movie because we already know that Iblis is canon to the Sonic Movie universe because of the Knuckles show, and I don't think they are going to use Sonic rivals story for a Silver movie. A remake of 06 is perfect to release to promote the Silver movie. Side note: mephiles in live action will be absolutely terrifying in the best way possible

i think unleashed is long enough as is that it doesnt need an extra campaign. just because shadow got one in generations does not mean this is gonna be a normal thing, the remasters have been coming out as pseudo promotions for the movies (colors ultimate for the sonic 1 movie, sonic origins for sonic 2, and SxSG for sonic 3) i think that gens being so short and the story being as light as it is made for a right time right place situation to add a shadow campaign. i believe unleashed will be getting a remaster to most likely go with the next movie, but theres not a lot of space to really make a campaign for another character imo minus maybe amy or knuckles, but knuckles is already introduced in the movies so i dont see that happening for him. the voices dont need any changing i think its fine as is and the script should remain untouched. but agree the medal system needs a rework, either make them not mandatory for story progression or make it like the wii version where you get medals based on your rank.

If people are really that concerned about medal collecting and it locking stages (even though collecting them kinda goes with the game's genre) then for a remaster they could just add a setting so you can just play through the stages without medals. Personally I think the medals were a brilliant idea so people could actually do what the game intended, EXPLORE. Most of the time the medals are right in your face especially in the daytime levels so you can still go through the level and get most of medals even if you're paying even the slightest bit of attention but hey, thats just my two cents. 🤷🏾

Ngl with the current precedent set by SXSG in terms of remasters, I really don't want a Unleashed remaster if they're gonna change the VAs, story or dialogue. This game is quite literally Jason Griffith's best and last performance in a mainline Sonic game (yes his work in Black Knight was better but it's not a main game) and trying to get Roger to fit into that tone just wouldn't work imo. The game definitely needs a port but I just don't see a world where they leave the parts I enjoyed alone

I agree that unleashed should be next but not for the reasons as anyone else but because they could have shadow go through countries never adapted in unleashed like Japan India Mexico 😏 and others like it

I couldn't disagree more I remember watching the unleashed cutscenes and the advertisement video aka the night of the werehog and I LOVED IT! and I then saw my uncle playing that game I asked for it he gave it to me but it didn't work on my xbox 360 and even to this day! I tried to get that game! AND I WAS SO DISSAPOINTED I COULDN'T GET IT! SO PLEASE SEGA AND SONIC TEAM FOR THE LOVE OF GAIA REMASTER UNLEASHED AND I WON'T NEED ANYTHING ELSE IN MY ENTIRE LIFE!

I dont wanna a remaster, that overloads the game on crap like colors ultimate I wanna a full on remake that does unleashed the game of the constrainns on the hedhegoh engine 1, this game would be so beatiful with the hedhegoh engine 2 if they cant remake it just port the ps3 one with good performance

​@@devastatheseeker9967 After they failed to make Sonic 06 be the polished and impressive game that it was originally intended to be, they did Silver dirty by barely having him be in any of the games that were made after that one! Whenever he did appear in any mainline Sonic games he would only have a brief appearance in some cutscenes instead of being a playable character again. He's only been playable in 06, some mobile games and those Olympic Mario and Sonic crossover games!

@speedstarregeneration2573 Yes he was in those games, I didn't say that Silver was't in any of the games that were made after 06, just they never put him in any TV series' and mainline games is what I meant. The comics saved him from being totally erased from existance because how well he has been written he's been in them and other things caused a fanbase for Silver to exist with so many of those people begging to see him return to being a playable character in mainline games and like in Sonic 06, PLAY A BIG ROLE IN THEM TOO instead of having Silver continue to be less important to the story plots of any future mainline games that he would or will hopefully be in.

Remaster an already “perfect” game? This game is overrated AF but don’t get me wrong. I think it’s a good game, but it ain’t better than colors is not better than generations but people be saying it is when it’s not.
