Collector desperately needs a +1, but he comes and goes way before most of the +1 items are offered. His schtick is supposed to be that Hoarder has all bad keywords, Collector has all "good" keywords, but they're just not good enough to justify having 3 one pip sides, and it takes a lot of work to make the 2 sides hit more than 2. He also wears his collar popped like a loser.

hoarder = conditional 2 dmg collector = small upside potential 2 dmg curator = huge potential keyword low pip sides in essence, hoarder is a 2dmg hit with a cost (at the lowest, its a heavy/u lose the side/u cant kill with it, while at the highest cost is that he falls off and dies of a stroke), collector is just 2 dmg sides and/or equivalent to it with no questions asked (he can make them better if conditions are met, though there arent costs to his sides, at the lowest, he just gets a +1 pip on the growth side, while at the highest, he does 4 dmg) while curator is just a chad with a cool turban

I agree with you on everything, except that popped collars are for losers. Popped collars are sick as hell, and it makes collector worth taking

Hm. Slime queen's total health increases by 2 for her, 4 for the default slimers, 4 for the slimelets they spawn, 9 for the *new* slimer, and 4 for its new slimelet, so...23 extra health. Against Slime Queen, Monster HP + 2 is Tower^23.

Someone else has the number at 25. They are correct. There *is* a slimelet that starts with queen slime.

Feels like collector sucks. He is a less extreme gambler. Most he can do consistently is 1 or 2 damage. It takes a high roll to get anymore

Ive been mostly avoiding monster hp+2 since losing a similar run with all very low damage choices into slime queen. Its +25 total health to the fight after all slimers and slimelets and it feels pretty inconsistent to have the needed burst damage to get through the slimers without taking an undefendable amount of damage.

I think druid was the problem in the fight. A medic or something would have made you unkillable. As for collector, well.... Edit: Voyix noticed what I thought

I wonder if bursting to shield before killing slime queen would have given warden more rescues, which might have helped the next turn. Very tough fight and party comp though!

I think it ends up being substantially worse than sandstorm because i think generally characters have access to block to stop the sandstorm damage via burst or their dice sides.

The +2HP is super dependant on what bosses you fight. Fight slimequeen, it turns into a +13 hp, thanks to the extra spawn. Lich also goes crazy. So if you take the +2, you need to hope that you get enough damage to counteract it. In your first attemp of slime queen there was a possible play with inbuing collector or so, but honestly, it's a very tough situation to be in. Unfair just sometimes kicks you in the shins and you gotta hop around and try not to fall.

I am consistently baffled by the curse balance in Unfair. Too many of them seem way off in terms of effect-to-level power ratio. 2nd death should be a lvl 20 curse at least.

yeah second death is actually wild, i cant really imagine how that curse is ever playable. i think maybe the variance is just there so that runs feel different in difficulty

I think at 19:00 you should have just killed slimer instead of slimelet, I just think that 2 damage cleave is massive

Seeing you play I noticed that I seem to have a lot less choice on the curses. Like there are just less choices at the start of each run. Is it actually just like this on mobile or do I have to unlock something to fix it? It's sad because curses choice is a huge part of the strategy

in the options menu there's something called myriad options which will let you have more options but you have to take an extra curse point

Evoker Druid is absolutely horrific and there's no way you click that unless you can see the future

​@@INStheRebel drop is ok, sometimes you have to forego consistency for power ( he had secondary mana sources, in case evoker flopped, it wasn't a huge problem)

ya i think evoker can end up in a very similar or worse position on this run, random was probably the play, but i just cannot get over collector being so bad. he feels like on paper he should do fine and yet i just keep losing with him

@@Voyix it's like the green of yellows, you need side boosters to make him really good, so myco, spellblade, armorer, leader, citrine ring...the omega polearm basilisk scale combo

Losing the streak sucks, Collecter is garbage, would you take a random character there given that choice again? Better than my 2 streak! I have 29 total Unfair wins, but I cant seem to get them in a row.

idk it doesnt feel like collector should be so bad you random over him, and yet he's been there for my hard and unfair streaks both ending

@@Voyix I've had a streak end with collector too. I'm starting to think that he's the most deceptive character in the game. Because I agree, picking him seemed fine there, but apparently he's worse than he looks.
