They have the same issue as catholic. The religion of Christ is the blood, the word and joy of the Holy Ghost. Adding anything at all to Christ is idolatry. It’s mystery Babylon. They will all have Babylonian symbology; robes; hierarchy; priests;lots of money.

Guest way too focused on psychedelics / MDMA. DP keeps talking about pride being the issue and then guest keeps refering to MDMA trips. FWIW I drank Ayahuasca 100+ times, the subtle serpentine allure of these substances is precisely that they 'help you' heal from trauma. That's how the enemy is prowling around now, it's a new tactic. For the materialistically minded: he offers power, wealth, and fame. For the metaphysically oriented: he offers trauma healing, siddhis, kundalini and mediumship. However, this healing is temporarily mediated. And you might want to ask - what spirit is mediating the healing to you. The demons have powers too (see Mose's snake staff - Exodus 7:8-13). But as you can see this guest is now entangled in an inability to give up pedastooling the substances instead of kneeling to the Lord. God healing someone's PTSD does not require a psychedelic therapy session, the PTSD fall off a man like a silk scarf if the Lord wills it. Hence Cody's orientation is to the creation (substance) as opposed to the creator's spirit. This is how psychedelics are so insidiously dangerous. I say this because I am as guilt as Cody here in being misguided and struggling to give up the curiosity in these substances. But as long as you're suggesting some other route than directly to God, the demons are very happy.

I've always had a heart for truth. Orthodox is something different. I've been praying and I believe God is using my experience in Orthodox to do something greater. I'm grateful for learning but my heart is still hardened to a lot of what I grew up knowing. My prayer is more souls will be saved. Assalamu alaikum.

The guest here, in my inexperienced opinion, needs to leave behind the literal/metaphorical framework that comes out of atheism. I suspect he’s talking about things like genesis which don’t present themselves as “1+1” level of scientific description. A better way to phrase it is that there is a symbolic element to the scriptures and to be ok in holding that tension between “these events ARE grounded in reality” and “these words are describing something higher than what meets the eye.”

Correct me if I'm wrong, someone, but as far as I understand Roman Catholics were not affected by iconoclasm and that is the main reason their iconography sort of progressed with art techniques such as 3D POV and realistic paintings and into fully 3D art in statues. As opposed to the east which was in competition with Islam and often lost. Islam has no images whatsoever, only symmetrical geometry kaleidoscope art. Yes, I understand that the Romans already had a lot of statutes but they also never had to defend against those statues being destroyed by Muslims or Byzantine iconoclasts.

I keep seeing stories of people who misuse psychedelics, then have bad experiences and then blame the psychedelics. I came to seek truth and God, and in fact confirmed Gods existence beyond any shadow of a doubt through several psychedelic experience, shattering my atheistic nihilism.

What actually awakened my spirituality was chronic neck pain this year if you can believe it... which in turn has resulted in me quitting all substances, including caffeine.
