Jerma is saying exactly what a lot of people, myself included feel about ARPG's and modern "RPG's" in general. Most people don't feel as much for "Deal 15% more damage when X amount of Y is active when Z thing happens" as they do "Do an extra 75 damage when X criteria is met" in the gameplay loop.

If people remembered it for what it's been post-RoS, it'd probably still be highly polarizing but no doubt generally regarded as a great game that defined a lot of what most other ARPGs are doing now. Sadly, some have taken the flaws as inspiration and most just fail to reach the same standard - let alone improve on it - and it seems like that includes Blizzard itself, funnily enough.

I'm new to "Jerma985" fanclub, hello eveyone! As far as i can tell, Jerma didnt try PoE. Same happened to me, until i installed it on PS4 recently. I've never played aRPG with controller support, that was the first thing that hooked me to PoE. The second "hook" that grappeled my attention was Chapter 3 and 4 of the PoE compaign. I think Jerma will definitely try PoE 2, its just sick...

my problem with Skyrim/fallout 4 mirrors jermas issue with d4. there's not enough unique content. finding unique weapons in fallout 3/new vegas was fun. skyrim has like, maybe a dozen unique weapons that aren't just the regular weapons with unique stats. fallout 4 almost entirely lacks unique weapons, which makes the deliverer pistol so neat, an actual unique weapon. but what it gains cant make up for all that was lost. it's basically the deliverer and the broadsider, that's the extent of uniques in fallout 4.

i've never been a diablo player but ik exactly what he means when he's talking about legendary's dropping too much because that was the biggest issue I had with Borderlands 3. the game felt amazing but legendarys aren't special when I get one from every boss and every elite. legendary bloat is a real issue in modern games

But spend as much man power and effort to make sure the consumer plays that fucking game and stay stuck there playing that fucking game. So god help me.
