This video literally made me tear up bc I just can’t believe how felt I seen. I’ve felt the way for about the same period of time, since lockdown 2020 and I always say to my friends I feel like I was so driven and different prior. It feels so lonely and I have hated myself so much for it. Thank you so much for Ibz, it means so much and I’m so glad you got your diagnosis ❤️

i was incessantly nodding throughout the video, and you spoke of exactly what I go through. it must feel so good knowing what you truly do have and knowing how it explains your life. it's been a tough journey for me trying to go through med school with my inattentive brain, it's a daily struggle and it's affected my self-confidence so much. just like you, I did well in school despite my symptoms and my gp thought that I may not have ADHD but she also encouraged me to modify my lifestyle first before pursuing an ADHD diagnosis, because it does cost a lot and takes time too. hoping one day I will be able to get it so I can feel empowered and receive help. Thanks for sharing your story and helping me understand myself.

You don’t have ADHD until you are diagnosed by a medical professional. This era of “self-diagnosing” mental conditions is absolutely horrendous.
@joeheller7581
@joeheller7581 2 жыл бұрын
@@GabijaS18 I know a lot of people are misdiagnosing themselves, but what you said is pretty insensitive considering the very high chance that I might have it. I have been told by my counsellor and mental health nurse that I show all the symptoms, my friend who I live with is the one suggested that I have it due to how I behave. and having read about it from medical books and sources I feel even more strongly that I have it. I can't know for a fact, but all the evidence points towards it. I can't see a professional soon because I can't afford it, doesn't mean I have to wait for 18+ months on the NHS waiting list before I can acknowledge to myself and prepare myself for this diagnosis. if you knew how debilitating my symptoms were, you wouldn't even come on here to question my "self-diagnosis"

@@khairahboukhatem5669 I am sorry you're having these problems, too. I really hope that once I get a job I can save up to see someone soon, because the way I am living now is not even living.. you should see what a mess every single thing in my life is and 90% of that mess wouldn't exist if not for me adhd.. but we have to stay hopeful and not lose hope that we can be helped regardless of whether we have ADHD. I know its easy to say and I'm not sure how much I believe this personally, but if I know one thing in life is that trying to have a positive outlook is certainly not going to harm us. all best xxx

ADHD cannot explain anything - just because is it only a label for the same behaviours that you knew about for years. Have you been coughing - well, you now have a cough disorder. This is not an explanation. The same would be to call it "Absent Daddy Home Syndrome"2!

@@Reeeeeee3333 It is a real SOCIAL disorder affecting the whole life of the disordered person. Nobody states anything about any medical nature of this disorder. A child who is not trained to obey, be patient, work hard, will not have skills to obey, be patient and to work hard. This will cause disfunction in academic learning and make the person disruptive and in need of suppression. To excuse chemical suppression of the protesting disordered young people, the code has been created for ADHD. Absent Discipline Home Disfunction.

I know I’ve said something to this affect to you already but lemme comment here for the algorithm xx You being open and transparent about this is more important than I think you will know for a while yet. When that peak study KZbin era was around I honestly couldn’t relate to literally any of them (tbh it feels now like a bit of a prelude to productivity culture but I don’t believe in any way that anyone was being negative in that way) except for you. Something in your energy and the way you explained things just clicked for me. Ad-hd attracts lmao. In a lot of ways I’m glad I didn’t know I had ADHD until adulthood because I wouldn’t have had anyone to really turn to as a kid, and when adversity hits everything’s already amped up to 10 as you know well. It’s so nice now to see that those who I did feel comfortable looking up to in those times actually understands the way that I’ve seen the world. Waking up in a world that wasn’t built for you and not knowing why is a struuuuuggle yet you and I and so many others are able to embrace this now. So, thank you for your candour, I’m excited for whatever comes next for you 💕🐧

For those of us who didn't go to uni or get diagnosed through college, for dyspraxia that is even a private only thing for adults and everything including coping mechanisms are geared to kids, when you are an adult you are pushed back as if it say, you've managed it all your life.

I have a question I’ve been looking into adhd for a few months now and I’ve just started therapy but I don’t have a diagnoses or anything. I know you got a bunch of A* at A-level and killed it And I’m wondering how you mustered up the motivation my motivation seems to only come when a deadline is fast approaching and if I get random bursts of extreme motivation it only lasts for a few days and quickly defuses and then I wait for the next deadline because it’s hard to muster up the motivation to start and get going. But how did you do it?

I have become the victim of the same atrocities and noticed the same pattern of symptoms at exactly the same time as you and many of your followers have mentioned( the beginning of the pandemic). It does not fit into any of the behaviour patterns that I used to have prior to the lock down considering the patterns, longevity, intensity and other factors . In my case, the targeted areas have been studying, exercising and sleeping. At first when it started it caused me to collapse (toxic gas) and after my third collapse it changed to the symptoms identical to the ones that you mentioned in the video. Most importantly the way in which the symptoms behave is of outmost importance !!! Is it a coincidence that we all suddenly developed ADHD or something interesting is going on??? I would be interested to know your thoughts. Kind regards EmRa

im still trying to get that adhd diagnosis! psychologists think im too smart for it, but i may want to just self diagnose at this point,tbh. sometimes i cryyyyy because of the forgetting! A note, though: after this it's gonna get easier to know why you do certain things and manage your way through it. meds and diagnosis alone will not be as life changing as that. :D also, r/ADHD is vey helpful!

Don't cry. Simply eat a pack of wasabi each time you forget things. You will soon remember.

@@sairac4337 he switched to a psychology degree yeah but he still studied sociology from the HSPS course as far as I’m aware. That’s why I mentioned both subjects since you can study modules in psychology with HSPS.

Not only do you have ADHD but you are also addicted to school! lol Isn't this like your 2nd law degree along with a bachelors and masters? Anyway, when you got into Oxford I was so looking forward to you being fabulous and making me laugh while you did that thang but you just....disappeared. We got like 2 or 3 videos which I was grateful for when they did appear. I thought, maybe he is too busy, too dedicated to this degree to be making videos...living your best life (in this effed up world) without us. And that would have been cool! But to hear it was actually you struggling, that's sad and I hate that you didn't get the most out of your Oxford time and get to enjoy how amazing it was to not have to work while at a top school. I hope everything works out now that you have a diagnosis and are on meds to alleviate some of the symptoms and maybe you can learn habits that can also circumvent when your brain is trying to sabotage your hustle.

Hi Ibz ! After watching this vid I cried cuz I relate on this so much. I have suspisions about this however I can not have access to professionals to get fully diagnosed due to stigmas around mental health issues in my family . I realllyyy hoppe you can create a vid about your current update in your adhd journey and treatment in this ect, and maybe share some advices on what to do if you cannot get access for diagnosis or have to leave it undiagnosed for some time. Thankyouu soooooooooooo muchhhhhh.
