Now before u go to the comments:
I know that keeping the origins of the diamonds mysterious is way better than knowing,but i thought why shouldn't i make an animation based on the official art book,i made this out of cheer and love to steven universe and animation and production.
Also we don't really know what made homeworld explode,Maybe white did that??even tho she didn't form yet idk, or there might be some scientific theories that explains that,like the planet's life coming to an end,or a supernova explosion,idk...
FUNFACTS:
0 The diamonds came out already knowing what they are and who they're supposed to be, that's why there's no expected overreacting (like for how small pink was)
1 This video could've had more animation than this, but i lost 25% of the animations,due to the unexpected back up issues :'),so i had to redraw the animations into motions ect...
2 The ending pink diamond is from an [unfinished/on hold] era 1 animation which i suspended for a while now...
3 This took me 2 weeks to finish,but the majority of time wasn't for animation,it was scripting/animatic,editing and composing.

Like diamonds can harm each other yes, but if they haven’t done it before, what do they have to be fearful about they might not even know they can truly harm each other But they are mortified of her, as if they have experience with her definelty inflicting real pain on them that’s greater than just speech and abuse. Kind of a creepy thought to explore. Even after they resolve the whole white diamond thing and her being nice how, how can you really be comfortable with a person like that who can control you and make you fight each other? Yeah, same… I think it’s all but confirmed that the Sketchbook that contained Rebecca Sugar’s rough outline of the Timeline is no longer considered technically Canon anymore, fur to various other elements and additions within the story that weren’t planned back then, now taking part in the show. Though, the Timeline does give us at least some relevant information. It proves to us, that the Diamonds, were in fact, born from Homeworld’s Core, and that they, like other gems, sucked up the natural nutrients and resources of the Planet in order to Come into Being. Though, judging from how the planet split apart, it is obvious, that the amount of Nutrients and Energy a Diamond needs to suck from a Planet in order to form, is MUCH HIGHER than that of any other Gem. Thus providing us with a sense of just how much power the Diamonds command. I personally believe that the Diamonds each correspond to a specific component of a Gem’s existence, and have complete control and AUTHORITY over that Component. White is The Mind Yellow is The Body Blue is The Soul And Pink, is The Heart… or more specifically, The actual Gemstone ITSELF. All members of The Great Diamond Authority, are all part of one Whole. 🤍💛💙🩷

This is a great animation that showcased how the Diamonds came to be based on the little information we've been given on their orgins. Despite coming out of the planet around the same time, the way that they emerged into their bodies one at a time makes sense for their hierarchy. White Diamond came first, followed by Yellow Diamond, with Blue Diamond being next and Pink Diamond being last. It just makes sense.

She explaining how the spectrum of color that each Diamond exudes is vulnerable and dependent on another Diamond’s Light. Yellow needs Blue, Blue needs Pink and so on… The scene was made for White illustrate how she sees the rest of the Diamonds and all of Gemkind as a flawed reflection of herself, and that no one is more perfect than her being she radiates the entirety of the Light-Spectrum in all it’s variety.

An argument could even be made that White Diamond was making reference to how Blue Diamond is Yellow Diamond's weakness. It was never stated in the series that Blue Diamond emerged before Yellow Diamond, nor was it stated that Blue's hierarchy was ranked above Yellow's. Blue and Yellow were ranked the same.

Same here. Though I think they may have looked a lot more different than their current looks in the show was… We’ve seen Yellow change her skirt to a draped coat in the past before, both during her first appearance and the Trial, so maybe they originally had different appearances when they first emerged? It would make sense if upon forming for the very first time, they would take on a more primal and ethereal appearance. I also believe Diamonds have the ability to change their clothes at will without reforming, so it’s possible they decided to adopt clothes more fitting for themselves later down the line.

I always headcanoned that an ancient race created the Diamonds as an experiment in artificial intelligence but they- or at least white diamond influencing the others- turned on the organic race and wiped them out, 'Homeworld' being the first world they conquered and used it to create an entire artificial race of Gem life forms in their image. Then they spread to the stars repeating the process for millenias until the race that created them was long forgotten even to themselves.

Simply because of the ENORMOUS Amount of Time the Species would have had to check-up on their makeshift creations and order them in accordance with their own Extraterrestrial-Protocol. I think that if a Race DID EXIST 20,000 years ago, and that they did intend for the Diamonds to be their Newest Fallback Plan in case they ever encountered a Threat they couldn’t handle (Example being; Another Alien-Race with Technology just as advanced as their if not more, or Perhaps some huge collision of Meteors that would wreak havoc upon their Homeworld) They are more than likely, LONG GONE by this point. How they were wiped to extinction, and what caused them to vanish into thin air after creating the Diamonds is its own Can of Worms, but my Bet is, that something didn’t go as intended with the Diamon-Experiment as they planned. And they either gave up on it, and left to the next Galaxy, or they were wiped out by an even more ancient and yet Unknown Threat. Hard to say. For know, I’m of the opinion that the Diamonds, and by extension, Gemkind is safe from whatever took out their previous predecessors and creators, but I definitely think that exploring this branch of Gem-History and uncovering what it is exactly that happened to the original creators and how they mysteriously disappeared from the face if the Cosmos, is something that should explored within the Universe. If the Show ever does Spin-Off that is.

Personally, i think that gems are some kind of really advanced robot that requires lifeforce to emerge. When the alien species that tried to build white diamond activated her, she needed so much lifeforce in such little time that it ripped the whole planet open, killing her makers and their species in the process. The reason i think this is correct is because the same thing wouldve happened if the cluster got activated. The clusters raw power is similar to that of diamonds, so if it got activated, it wouldve burst open like white diamond did when she was formed.

I always theorized that before gems there was an ancient alien race who inhabited homeworld before and created the diamonds as tools for combat, energy, or some kind of intelligent ai. After a while the diamonds turn on their creators and start making new gems to build their empire, destroying the planet in the process. I love how this feels like a myth of creation. I wonder if someone or something created the diamonds. I've always theorised that it was an unknown organic species that long ago developed the technology to create artificial life and they either left gemkind behind or died out before they developed into what we see in the show. But it just occurred to me that it's technically possible that inorganic life slowly evolved into sophonts and gemkind is so unfathomably removed from their origin that they either have completely forgotten or have purposely destroyed any evidence/record of that at some point in their past.

I imagine White coming through first, but after creating her first « court », she makes too many decisions with her heart, feeling intensely the first time as she makes mistakes, changing to blue and/or yellow. With emotions clouding her divine judgment, she casts them out, making the first diamonds after her. And once she starts caring for them, wanting to protect and all that, feeling « pink », she has no choice but to cast that out too. And that’s, the final diamond is born. Not as big or strong physically, but emotionally made of steel.

I like this but I think white was first and since white splits into the different colors. She split herself body and giving each of the diamonds maybe one of her emotions leaving her to be emotionless and the perfect rational leader . It doesn't involve them being artificially created by some other organic species, so heck yeah, I'll take it! Personally my running theory is that one or more Black Holes were involved. Something like billions of years ago, a Black Hole collapsed, and from it's singularity came White Diamond (Or maybe even a progenitor Black Diamond who has since passed / been left unseen). This Diamond was left in it's Gemstone state for a long time as it slowly developed consciousness and the ability to manipulate Light (Think Ego from the Guardians of the Galaxy movie) until it was finally able to generate a body for herself, eventually wandering around and slowly learning how to make more like her. whether or not the first Gem she made was another Diamond, or if there might have been some failed experiments, or even some successful experiments that just weren't Diamonds is up in the air, but i suspect the following Diamonds would show up like you depicted here, First Yellow, then Blue, and finally Pink, but with much longer time periods between them, millions or hundreds of thousands of years even. Maybe the creation of the other Diamonds involved manipulation of other black holes, or maybe she was able to make them herself using specialized materials, who knows. Part of why i think the first Diamond might have been one other then White is just due to the fact that with this theory, it's basically random chance that it even exists, Boltzmann brain logic really. So the first Diamond might not be "Perfect", perhaps even unstable or flawed in some way. But either it makes a "Perfect" diamond in the form of White itself, or it's descendants progressively make more and more refined Diamonds / other gems until they can make a perfect White. This imperfection might even be why this Black Diamond and any other Gems it might have created before White aren't around anymore, they weren't properly refined and eventually died on their own.

I often forget that pink diamond is just as old as the other diamonds, I guess in my mind I just assume she appears thousands of years later, like the planet the other diamond emerge from pink random forms out the kindergarten, late like amethyst and that explains her size and child like mentality. I kinda like my way better, it just makes so much more sense that way, because now I kinda get why pink was saying she was being treated unfairly, because she most definitely was if they all the same age and they are refusing her, her birth rate as a diamond.

I always thought White Diamond created all the gems including the other diamonds which is why they almost act like they own all of them and can control them as she pleases.

Oh! Maybe with how powerful/huge the other diamonds are compared to Pink, maybe they were born from other planets. However, the planets were destroyed completely. With Pink’s birth, Homeworld was the result as it managed to survive (barely) to sustain the rest of the gems being made.
