Actually, if you watch a few episodes, you see all the lying and deceit that's written into nearly every episode, especially on the part of "Rob." Over and over and over, show after show....not him cheating on "Laura," but both of them, so many lies and little things that, irl, would destroy a marriage very quickly. Why the writers thought that was funny is beyond my ken, but they did it throughout the entire five year run.

This dog looks a lot like a dog I saw on The Rifleman recently. The two shows both ran during 1961-63. 🤔 Update, this dog, Pluto, is the same dog on both shows and played on several other shows back then.👏👍👍♥️

She was also hilarious as "Mrs. Hufnagle" (sp?) in a recurring role on "St. Elsewhere" about a year earlier. She played a cantankerous hospital patient who got passed along to nearly every doctor in the hospital, because almost none of them could deal with her. She died when her hospital bed folded up on her, and everyone thought that she was playing some kind of "joke" on them.

Around here they are called cockapoos, and I have never seen one that large. With his more wiry coat I would guess he's maybe got some Airedale? (Ex groomer, trainer, and kennel manager so I've seen quite a few dogs)

I believe the dog to be a Irish terrier. I saw the episode and thought it immediately. I have an Irish Terrier so that is what made me think this.

"Laura" wore a wig throughout most of the show's run, just FYI. MTM's own hair wasn't thick enough to support the huge bouffant hairstyles of the 60's. And there were plenty of other equally, and some more so, "gorgeous" actresses. Marilyn Monroe, the now-deceased Raquel Welch, Jane Fonda (though I can't stand her because of what she did to the American prisoners during the Vietnam war), Tippi Hedren, Elizabeth Montgomery, Sophia Loren (try to top HER beauty!)....a lot of beautiful women back at that time.
